  1. For evaluation purposes, I would hold a game to the state it's in out-of-the-box. Otherwise we're just condoning developers to be lax and release quasi-buggy titles under the future justification that every thing will be patched.
  2. Ah, okay then. I guess that's always better than being punched.
  3. Just don't forget he/she is still a mage, ergo get some distance from the enemy, and if its truly needed, you can get more...personal. If so, use this combo (my favorite) true strike-hit-true strike-hit (and start again till the requested effect on the enemy -death- is recieved) This build is same as others till lvl 10-13, but then it suddenly increases in effeciency atleast 225% PS: don't forget that some armor modifiers doesn't stack, so you can use with the magic armor other rings (like regeneration) and capes (like the Nymph one) Also, with the always increasing Charisma it simulates the developement of the 'Aura of power and influence' the character has around him. (yeah, i am a real pnp player ) This build seem freakin' genius, Jorian. It has high AC (from armor), high AB (from true strike), high spell potency (from char), high level spells (from non-multi classing)...and most of all SHINY armor and bling-bling sword weps!!
  4. What's wrong with that guy's cheek? Is it just the lighting or has it seem to have taken a rather peculiar overgrowth?
  5. I was waiting for the first person to post that <{POST_SNAPBACK}> And I was waiting for the first person to comment on the first person who posted that.
  6. The Omricon Neverwinter Evils shall rise again!
  7. Ugh. Civilizations rise and fall, but the defragmentation still trudges to a crawl.
  8. Check your Vault Dweller's Guide, Darque. It has everything you need to survive the post-George "Dubya" wasteland.
  9. as i said the armor profiency is it all albout, like in real life, your character will get used to the heavier, bulkier ones. (get on lvl1 light armor, lvl3 medium, lvl9 heavy) also he/she has to try to make it possible to cast spells in them without problems (get on lvl 12 still spell) so if you manage to find an armor what does not modify your casting chances, Great! BUT if not, then you can still cast one level differenced still spells, and that means lvl 5 spells on lvl 12. So whats the difference between normal mages and armored ones in 3.5 ? -armored ones have either an elven (or similar) magic-friendly armor, or they cast one spell lever lower than others (but thats no big difference on lvl11-13) -armored ones are....well, armored, and with some nice, hastened, damage resistant (or whatever full plate armor you find) you are more able to survive great fights (and armor looks ussually nicer than robes too...and its SHINY!) -don't forget the nicest, first priority of armor: defense. You will have high AC, like fighters As mentioned i also like to combine this with elves, they have profiency in rapiers (good critical range), longswords (most powerfull/legendary weapons are longswords), crossbows (can pierce in real life full body armor), and of course longbows (the best ranged magic weapons are ussually longbows) Also there is a bonus to this char design in MP: an enemy of you will think you are a warrior before you burn his backside with some chain lightnings, or summon some hordes of monsters on him <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That sounds awesome, Jorian. Looks like I'll be foregoing that Paladin build (Holy Avenger!!) I had in mind. Elven Battle Mage, here I come.
  10. Alright then, Jorian. I'm up for trying out the Elven Armored Battle Mage of Death. Give me step-by-step lowdown on how he should be created and built. 3.5 edition still lets you cast in armor (albeit with a cast rate deficiency), right? Otherwise it'll turn into a scour-fest for the bling-bling elven chain mail.
  11. I'm going to give the Wallnut theme a shot.
  12. The KotOR series is awesome, relatively speaking. But when you look at the way the fanbois/gurls worship it like it's the best thing since sliced bread, then yeah, it's overrated. Then again there's simply no phenomenon in existence more annoying than squealing KotOR fanboi/gurls, so it can be hard to differentiate whether the game is not what it's hyped up to be, or whether it's the cringe worthy fan base which is at fault. Incidentally Volo, what are your first impressions of FF12? I too have bought it ($15 dollars cheaper and shrink wrapped no less!) but I probably won't end up playing it fro a looong time, since I might find difficulty in turning my attention away from NWN2.
  13. Oh n0es!1 We can't highlight our characters hair? We can't alter their Body Mass Index? The horror - I mean what was Obsidian thinking?! Obviously this must be the machinations of the apocalypse. Run for the hillz0r!1. Or the psychiatric cent0rz. Whichever comes first.
  14. That's a really good idea, Gabs. That way when you upgrade your comp, you can always just swap over that hard drive as a slave to your new primary drive, and have all your games on it will be ready to go (I guess you might have to reconfigure the audio/video drivers but most games have setup utilities). And if it's 120 gigs then you probably won't even run out of space.
  15. Yeah, they're all great. That mummy is hilarious in cute sort of way. If I was forced to pick a favorite then I'd probably give it to Happy Hallows - it has the King's Quest VII look to it.
  16. Where I ordered mine from, they have 1 day, 2 day or normal shipping (3-5 days). I was cheap and chose the normal shipping. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Don't feel too bad. When I ordered mine I selected the fastest possible shipping method ...but when it cam to checking out, it said it wasn't available and stuffed me with standard cheapy ground shipping. <_< -- Sometimes the D2D downloads aren't compatible with developer patches, but all is not necessarily lost. You can actually get updates to work on them with some ISO image trickery which tends not to be condoned by the publishers. Without explicitly saying anything, trying visiting the Oldblivion forums and research how to get the D2D version of Oblivion compatible with the oldblivion user patch.
  17. Then you obviously haven't tried the Funky Cold Medina.
  18. I guess it's available today, Kaft. But I probably won't be receiving my specially ordered Waukeen ring & cloth map bling version until the 1st (at the earliest) as they don't sell the Lawful Good/Chaotic Evil version here - just the standard CD, standard DVD and Limited Edition DVD.
  19. The draconic type of bard: "Doom Doom Doom, DOOOOOOOOOOM!!"
  20. More importantly, is Deekin in it?
  21. Here's a very good web-based scanner, in fact designed by the makers of Norton: http://security.symantec.com/sscv6/default...id=ie&venid=sym
  22. Hey Rosh - serves you right for NWN2 bashing! :D In all seriousness though, go to your start bar, then select run. In the textbox type in "msconfig" (without the quotes) and press enter. When the system configuration utility shows up, select diagnostic startup on the general tab so you can boot up with the minimal drivers and processes. After that try testing out your comp. If it's still struggling, then the slow-down is not attributed to background processes and application loaded within the RAM. Therefore, it would probably be best to if you were to then run your virus scanner (Norton or McAffee work great) to dig out those potentially nasty worms, trojans and whatnot. If that fails (i.e. no virus is found), go to your start bar-->accessories-->system tools-->system restore. Select an earlier date (one when you know it was working fine) and roll it back. If after this it's still slower than Troika when releasing patches, then you're going to have to re-install Windows to factory settings, so look out for your system discs (or recovery partition).
  23. I hate how your window automatically switches to any new tab. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You can change that I believe, Kum. Go to Tools-->Options-->Tab and adjust away!
  24. It was an incognito scouting outpost, dammit!
