  1. Well if it make the killee all the fastee then you can't blame me. :D Also: My Drow battlemage is getting pwned in these early stages, due to lack of armor, equipment, weapons, spells and the level penalty. I do hope I level up fast - it's taking forever.
  2. Hey Jorian, are non-humans able to dual-wield greatswords with the monkey grip?
  3. If you have to ask, you'll never know.
  4. I haven't use the drow spells except for the heal spell so far. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> ZOMG!1 Deekin! Faith in the world is restored again! Is he recruitable? He better be. Doom, Doom, Doom... Also: Thanks Darque. Portable flashlight it is. At first I didn't want to cast any stinking light spells for fear of a -1 light sensitivity penalty. :"> BTW, are Drow characters able to see through their darkness? Because that would be awesome: Get right up close, cast dark, then proceed to beat them to a bloody pulp while their helpless to stop you.
  5. If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. cheat!
  6. Hey, that is interesting because I got a cat for a familiar. Also: Hey Gabs, have you found a good strategy to get the most out of our bling-bling Drow racial spells? Right now I'm casting dark of group clusters of baddies, and then picking them off with my fancy longbow. :D Haven't quite found a use for the light spell though.
  7. Which should really be done with people you can actually talk to and see... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Don't underestimate the power of Pixie Porn.
  8. Well if you're special like me, then yeah, you can "just tell." Otherwise bow your head in shame and behold the power of FRAPS. :D -- Also, how the hell do we change the freakin' ant sized font? It's really starting to piss me off now. I tried adjusting the windows font and even dpi settings on the advanced graphics options on display properties, but sadly the effect didn't transfer over. Then I tried changing the "UseLargeFont" value in the .ini settings file in NWN2 my documents folder (incidentally, why the hell can't game files stay in their own damn folder?! These days, every game spreads like a cancer through your hard drive memory locations!) from 0 to 1 but the bloody option doesn't seem to work. Any ideas?
  9. BRILLIANT! [TOMBS:] Arkan + 100 [TOMBS:] Zoma + 100 I disabled virtually EVERY graphic option but was still getting pathetically low frame rates. Then, as Arkan suggested, I merely switched that surreptitious shadow option off, and viola! I was maintaining the rate at 30FPS after turning up the other options to med-high settings - including those snazzy bloom effects! Then following Zoma's advice, I switched the application controled V-sync option off from my nVidia control panel, and then relaunched. The end result: 40-60 FPS.
  10. How is everyone's FPS? I'm using a 512MB 6800XT and I don't seem to be getting any more than 30 FPS indoors, and 20-25/30 FPS outdoors. I've tried lowering the settings, but to no discernible effect. Any ideas on what other graphic options to disable to yield greatest FPS benefits?
  11. You can say that five or six more times. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yet I'm still playing... *Knight to King Bishop Three*
  12. But not in the way chaos echo intended.
  13. How did you manage that?
  14. Does anyone know how to make the text bigger? Resolution adjustment doesn't seem to have much of an effect.
  15. You're right, Volo. Awesome! Long Live NWN1! Long Live NW2!
  16. That was pretty good so don't get me wrong, but I'm inclined to agree with Mets. It was too esoteric in nature for it to be universally funny, enough though it was great if you got the reference(s). Regardless, "the best" is so subjective a ranking that we would always be disagreeing. Anyway, here are two totally sweet & awesome funneh moments that are certainly worthy of being amongst the greatest in cartoon history IMO: Family Guy South Park :D
  17. Your puny brick and mortar stores cannot compare with the infinite virtuosity of the Net. Long live D2D!
  18. Guess what, I already went with the Armored Battle Drow Mage of the Underdark option. :D Given that it has 2 additional build point (char & int) as well as the dex bonus which the moon elves have AND bling-bling spell resistance (something like 11+ lvl), it was a no brainier. My original build was: Str: 14 Dex: 14 Con: 14 Wis: 8 Int: 16 Cha: 16 But then I changed it to: Str: 16 Dex: 10 Con: 12 Wis: 8 Int: 16 Cha: 18 Do you think that I should have put at least 2 points for the added AC (since most armors allow at least 1 dex modifier)? I've only been playing through the tutorial, so I don't mind having to rebuild if I have too. Also: Reserved Guardian voice is back! (w00t)
  19. Yay - they've resurrected the KotOR font color! Welcome back Bluey, oh how we've missed you - K2's mean green can never compare to you!
  20. The late ones are always the most enigmatic!
  21. Don't believe everything you read.
  22. IThat doesn't make a lot of sense. It's not like developers test their games solely for reviewers. Developers' interests in making non-buggy games extends beyond reviews. A developer that says "let's go half-assed on this and fix it later" is a pretty ****ty developer. Wouldn't we also have to recognize the constraints that a developer is put under that might hinder a game's performance? I don't see any problems with reviewing patched titles, just so long as you indicate that the title's been patched. It's the version most people should be playing, anyway. Reviewing an old version is reviewing a game few people will play. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> For better or for worse, games which are reviewed and received well tend to do well, and the converse is also true. Nobody said developers test their games solely for reviewers, but the fact remains that developers do care about their reviews. You need look further than the review accolades Obsidian or Bioware posted in the past on their homepage. Also, unfortunately there are develops for half-ass it and release a seemingly never ending series of patches later. Ironically in fact, one of them continues to consistently develop the fastest selling game within the UK (not mentioning any names). This particular studio knows the public is going to buy their title, so they try to get it out in time for the Christmas rush. Does this make them a bad developer? I'll leave that for you to judge.
  23. That is true quite often, but whether that's attributed to the devs or the paper pushing publishers varies from case to case.
  24. The Omricon Neverwinter Evils shall rise again! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> w00t <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If any of you get seperated, or throw yourselves on an enemies sword at the most unopportune moment for no apparent reason, think of me and smile... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Don't panic - just remember the golden rule: If in doubt, let Kiro scout it out!
