  1. I really have no idea how you can rate massively flawed games like Baldurs Gate and Fallout 2 as being perfect. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Massively flawed? Hell no! Those are among the best cRPGs I've played to date. In fact, I can't think of any cRPG that allows to randomly explore areas on the world map better than BG and FO2.
  2. Hilarious! Especially the 4th one!
  3. Even dirty muck Harbormen?
  4. Definitely. Also, a Potion of Invisibility if you need to grind out the time for his Frenzied Beserker to wear off.
  5. Hades, make sure all the power attack modes are toggled off so you can actually hit Lorne. You'll do less damage per hit, but you'll hit him much more consistently. Also, notice that your PC is still "in the party" even whilst Khelgar is in the ring. So all you have to do is transfer over that uber health elixer that Sand conjured up for you from your PC's inventory over to Khelgar's. :D (pause game-->select PC portrait-->type I-->drag potion and whatever else over Khelgar's portrait-->pimp Khelgar out with bling equipment (note: you can't change armors in a fight)-->unpause game) Voila!
  6. she became my girlfriend 11 years later <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It must have been a long chase. :D
  7. Whether that's true or not, Mes, that conclusion is just a knee-jerk reaction. This opinion would carry much more weight after the game is released and you've actually played it. Prejudging a game by the way it "looks" is similar to discriminating against a person without getting to know them - sure, it's easy, but it's also somewhat shallow.
  8. I'll give it a very decent 7.5.
  9. ZOMG...KENT B! Seriously, what do you folks make of this? Is this just the another step in the hypersensitivity of "sexual harassment"? It's seems that these days you have to watch your mouth and look over your shoulder lest a female colleague "overhear" a joke and file a suit. Alternatively could this some expedited contortion of the Oedipus Complex or something? And no, we can't ask Jesus, lol.
  10. What scene is that from, Hades? I don't remember having that scene.
  11. It would bring a smile to my face. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I thought that was any form of killing. you and Grimgnaw would get along well <{POST_SNAPBACK}> She probably did until she pried his bling-bling Order of the Long Gloves from his cold, dead hands before leaving his carcus to rot in the desolate Wastes of Cania. Only way to do it. As Lilacor says, "Murder! Death!! KILL!!!"
  12. I agree with your analysis of Z, but I liked Shandra. I thought her character arc was great - much better than say, Neeshka who's character never really progressed in any fashion even after completing Lendon's quest. Shandra went from being a haughty isolationist who refused to depend on others, to a state of confusion and introspection as she apprenticed under you, to finally being a strong-willed and loyal heroine with her own sense of understanding about morality and self-sacrifice. And that's not mentioning that she pretty became one of the best melee specialists in the group. In fact, after her loss post act 2 (combined with Kelghar being moked and by extension being screwed over), I had to change tactics as the only recognized go-to-guy was Casavir. But yes, Z's philosophical overtures did come across as a shallow emulation of Dak'kon's. Way too much rambling on and on. She also lacked the underlying depth and motivation needed to enter the Shard Bearer's service and she essentially became his slave - something Zerths and Giths are supposed to take aversion to.
  13. What a waste. They take a legitimately awseome setting of the Stargate universe and then decide to MMOGIMP it. Now a SG cRPG could have been totally sweet. You build up and SG team to go on offworld adventures; steal alien loot; blow up Goaolds, Replicators and Priors; and of course save the damsel in distress. Ah well, there's always Mass Effect.
  14. I'm actually having a huge problem with dust in my system at the moment, Mets. And this isn't any normal dust we're talking about. It's that pressurized, compressed McNasty dust that attaches itself all over the mobo and other components. As with an unwelcomed date, I can get rid of it with a can of pressurized air but it just keeps coming back.
  15. Trying to see if I can work the influences a bit differently in my second game. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Interesting. I guess the unofficial rule in the Forgotten Realms games is that elven chicks are pretty much fair game.
  16. Hmm - just finished it. Gah, that ending. That was by far the WORST narration I've ever heard. I literally had to turn the speakers off 'cause his monotone was pissing me off to the extent that I couldn't read the text. <_< If as Tigranes said, the Battle of Highcliff "scene" was the worst moment in NWN2, then this has got to be the second worst. On the positive side, I never imagined killing would feel so good.
  17. Does Vista have an emulation mode like XP where your run an app under an emulated environment of its precursor OS'?
