The Empire Strikes Back. Darker and more polished than the first, "I am your Father" revelation, and most of all no ewoks, gungans or cackling morons.

Missed oportunity Import Charaters
I wouldn't say this was a missed opportunity, as the the protaganist in K1 & K2 are completely different characters. But I'll admit that it would have been cool if we able to import our K1 saved game file ala Balder's Gate. That would have given rise to the potential cameo apperances of K1 NPCs (depending on quest resolution), certain item spawning, as well as the character importing of HK-47 and Canderous.

What happened to all the good space sims??
Hmm, it doesn't seem like it is now, but it looks like the devs are considering to add it.

Motion Blur
Actually there is. Download Kotor Save game Editor (KSE), and open up your "k_inc_force.nss" file. Now if it's just the force speed effect you want to remove, then comment out (double forward slash) the following line: eLink1 = EffectLinkEffects(eLink1, EffectVisualEffect(VFX_DUR_SPEED)); EDIT: It's been a whille, so if KSE doesn't let you edit scripts, then try using kotortool.

What happened to all the good space sims??
Guys, you gotta try the Axiomatic Demo. Gameplay wise, this is like Freelancer! (But less arcadey as it uses more realistic space physics like momemtum and inertia) Here's a description, and you can dowload it here. The space looks fantastic for a 10 meg straight-from-the-developer game, and it support DX9. So yeah Bok, go ahead an max out resolution and AA: " -- Also, if you're using a mouse, remember to invert it so it doesn't pitch up and down like a joystick (unless your into that kind of perversion...even though what you do in your personal time is none of my business). Anyway, the demo put me in this 'survive as long as you can' skirmish mode: But little do they know that Don Jag (and Alanschu) are surviving pilots from teh Wingman heydays! Uh-oh, bogie on fire! ...and another one bites the dust At this point the game probably didn't like the fact I was still alive (even though all my wingmen died! ), and so the demo started to time out... I survived. Woo-hoo!

Freelancer
Ask Bok. He may still have his PCI GeForce 5200, which incidently will slot into your comp! (since you don't have AGP) -- More importantly however... C'mon OE guys - it's Borg Cube hunting time! (w00t)

Company of Heroes Open Beta
OK! But the fileplanet description only blabs on about the singleplayer campaign. Lyrn, Alan - does the beta have any MP support?

Technical stuff
REALLY? I've heard that vibration on high speed drives can do that - is that what you are talking about? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> This was like 5 years ago, I bought this new CD-Rom drive and then I popped in a disc. A few minutes later a heard a loud *bang* and then I opened the drive and the disc was in 50 little peices. I'm guessing it was a faulty drive that was too fast for its own good. The drive ceased to function as well; maybe too much little peices inside it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> At least you found a good use for those AOL discs.
