Well, I'm not angry at you guys. I just want to wait and buy the game after the patch comes out. I believe that once I play through it, I'll find that some of the moaning on this forum was uncalled for. I hope you guys do KOTOR 3 with no unrealistic limits on your back.

I can derive any way in which you might interpret my comments as being biased against women, and I certainly can't think of a reason why I might be sexist against men, on account that I am one. To me, Revan is a woman. When I sat down to play KotOR, Revan became my character, and I chose her gender. If someone then effectively goes and says "No, you're wrong, Revan was a man," I don't see why I should be expected to say "oh, okay, sorry for picking a woman, obviously Revan is a guy." If I had sat down to play KotOR and the game had decided for me at the beginning that Revan was male, I would have no problem with it. PS:T did that, though it let you set the stats, and was an awesome game. Chrono Trigger didn't let you choose anything at all about the main character, and that was my favourite RPG. But when I played KotOR, I was given the choice. I made that choice. And so if a book, TV show, movie or toy says that the choice I made wasn't correct, then in my eyes they are wrong. To a bunch of other people, they may be right, but I wouldn't buy the toy or the book or whatever. You can if you want, but I wouldn't. Simple as that. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, I guess I would say if they do bring out a movie, and Revan is a guy, don't take it as a personal attack, they'd just be catering to the most popular choice. Wait a tick... I was sure I read on the forums (from a developer) that Obsidian had made some intention of wanting to release a content patch, but wasn't sure if LucasArts would go for it. Has a new development occurred? Last I checked, the list of fixes won't be released until the patch is actually released. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Everything I have read leads me to believe that Obsidian views the game as done.

But the number of people who played Revan as a male probably far outweigh the number who preferred that Revan be female. HOWEVER. Don't discount my post as a flame just yet... I think that having Revan as either a male or female would work equally well in all practicality. I believe the Bastila/Revan love story would, however, be more appealing to fans than the Revan/Carth one, but this is personal opinion. Another point, is that in general, very few Sci-Fi Generals/Admirals/Captains are female. In the entire Starwars movie series - 0 females in those three roles. Star Trek - 1 Human (Janeway), a very few Klingon/Romulans/others. Kotor has only Admiral Dodonna (Not including the option of Revan and the Exile). The lack of females of high military rank in fiction may have something to do with the fact that women of every society and era have as a rule neve achieved that status. If I were making a KOTOR Trilogy, I would probably cast Revan as a man and the Exile as a woman. I personally would love the green light to make Revan (After the Council changes his name) the first Skywalker, providing a unique beginning for Starwars most famous house. Saying that, Aimo's fanfiction of a female Revan and Exile are among the best I've ever seen. I don't think there will ever be a KOTOR movie (unless I happen upon a fortune). Thoughts? I've thought of some pretty cool ways of keeping the audience guessing even though some will know that Revan is Revan, merely as a distraction...like during today, the most boring day in recent memory

Obsidian and LA have no intention of releasing any kind of "Content Patch", according to official sources. You maybe interested in the unofficial mod Aurora is working on.

Yes to the last part of your post, no to the first. I have seen the evidence, in the form of quotes on this forum and partly through playing the game, and in the form of the cut content files. I suppose that Forna could be totally misquoting the game, but I have come across some of the lines he quotes, and others would have posted long ago, saying "Hey Forna! You sure are full of crap." Besides, every story has unoriginal elements copied from earlier texts - except your holy scripture of choice, of course " The fact that there has already been a "I am your parent" moment in Starwars makes it seem more likely that Obsidian might have at one time contemplated a storyline like that.

Yup! Wierd isn't it? I already know the entire story, and all the cut content! I'm just waiting to buy after the patch. I'll still have a blast with it. So far I've only played part of it (On a friends XBox). Whether I am unique or insane is up to you.

Just butting in... please don't ever use the word "retard" to mean stupid. Not only is it very bad English (retard being a verb, not a noun) it is also extremely hurtful to developmentally delayed people like my beloved son. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, first of all, I apologise for causing any hurt, please for give my offense. Secondly, it is a term that is widely accepted in certain contexts as meaning someone has acted stupidly, and it should have been clear that I was poking fun at myself. Thirdly, as a professional in the field of Psychiatric Disorders and Treatments, I would never make fun of someone with a mental disorder. I also find terms like "developmentally delayed" overly-protective and misleading. Fourthly, it can be used as a noun or a verb, as any good modern dictionary will reveal. (I personally use WordNet 2.0, published by Princeton University) Lastly, I tend to speak much more casually on gaming forums than in real life, but I suppose I should have used a word with less potential for offense. It would have been best, I think, to assume I was making a light hearted joke at myself than take it so personally, but I stress my first point. I will try and pick a more neutral word next time.
