Well, I still think the patch will be out on April 7, and I want cookies if it is. I don't think any of the recent members of this heated debate are trolls. Why? Well, I've decided to buy it anyway, because the parts that are good are worth more than the faults, if you love the KOTOR galaxy. If you have fallen inlove with the Characters and Story of KOTOR 1, I would strongly suggest you buy KOTOR 2, and make sure your imagination is charged up, you'll need it near the end.

Good I'm really glad your seeing your fanboism for what it is finally. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No offense to either of you, that one particular come back just brought back alot of play-ground memories, and a few laughs. I don't know if the whole upgrade-thing will ever take-off with consoles. Seems like it would jack up the price higher than they would want. A PC is basically just a system that lots of different companies have all decided compete over (As opposed to mac) whereas console hardware is pretty much one company. Its probably just easier to bring out a totally new product every 3-5 years, than try and make a cheap version of a PC's upgrade capacity. But, I'm no computer engineer, I'd like to hear from someone who knows the ropes.

Yes, that would certainly have been a pipe dream, but I doubt anyone thought it would be bug free. I was comparing the cut-content ending to the current ending. I can handle major tech problems, but story should be done and dusted first in a RPG.

You cannot roast a turkey in 10 minutes, or write a novel in a week, or design an RPG for multiple platforms in 12 months as a small, fledgling company. Despite what you say, the game is incomplete. Not because there is unused content on the CD, but because there are side-quests in the game which can be started but not completed, and multiple Holes in the story. Even though that is the sign of a rushed game, I will still buy the game, patch or no, because of my loyalty to the KOTOR story and Characters. Epic RPG's require more time to produce than other "Linear" (I think is the official term) stories. The Predominant feeling on these boards, supported by several of the "Old Guard" posters who have earned a reputation for accuracy (Hades_One for example, or Anakin's Ghost), is that Obsidian ran out of time. Time that was not enough to begin with. The evidence supports, if not proves that line of thought. Therefore, he is not alone in his well-evidenced opinion.

True, but they only bought their first shipment or two. They can choose not to buy more if its not selling, and that WILL hurt LA, but be good for me when I purchase it after the price cut, and hopefully with a patch to install...

I must say, I viewed/read/listened through the "cut content" earlier tonight, and it was enought to make me want to cry. I think I've caught something akin to your hatred of LA. Doesn't LA realise that they could have made a kings ransom if they'd let Obsidian finish? If KOTOR 2 had been released this week, with everything in goodworking order, the game might have been multi-platinum by July, and become the best selling Starwars game of all-time, maybe the best selling RPG of all time.
