  1. You are absolutely right. I hate the Yuuzhang Vong. The Courtship of Princess Leia and The Truce at Bakura were decent. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Which is why I was kind of hoping they'd eliminate the main characters altogether. That way they could continue the SW universe, but could do so without ruining the image of the characters we followed from the movies. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, unfortunately for Starwars, neither you or Nur Ab Sal write the destiny of the SW universe... If you did, would Jennifer Hale play every female vocal role?
  2. I'll pick the former Baneblade as opposed to the later...
  3. Yes. Judging by your picture you don't need a stuffed bear, just a mirror, but I'll throw in the Goldfish... ><()()> My favourite build is the "Fighting Jedi Master", but I played through with Jensen as a Weapons Master. In DnD I like teh Cleric, basically a magic user who is armor-clad and can still use a sword to deadly effect.
  4. I haven't finished KOTOR 2 yet, so I don't know what all Kreia says. So, I can't argue on way or the other about anything she says until I have played the game to the end. Yes. I agree. Islam is not, and does not claim to be Judeo-Christian. It claims it is the only accurate account of "what really happened", and claims superiority over the two older, well established faiths. It is a curious claim indeed. While the NT builds upon the OT, the Qu'ran contradicts both. Ok, I understand what your saying, but I still see The Force as more of a mixture of fate and Pantheism than Monotheism. This is true. Neither Exodus or any other part of the bible suggests that The Exodus was a metaphor, rather recording it as a historical fact. Either the Exodus actually happened, or the Bible is a flawed document.
  5. Aren't you supposed to guess my class? Maybe its just too far off-topic to go back! Odinson: Faramir was always my favourite character, but I did think Boromir at least tried his hardest. As regards to guessing my class, Faramir de Ibynhelm is my BG/NWN name, Jensen Bakura is my generic Starwars Character name. K is in reference to my real name... If you can guess what class/character type both are (one DnD, one KOTOR), you'll win the stuffed bear and the goldfish... Love your fanart and army of Bao-Durs, by the way
  6. How do you explain Mon Mothma, then? :"> I forgot about her. Maybe the Mon Calmari represent the French? Showing up out of nowhere with a huge fleet right at the end and helping the Rebels?
  7. I really didn't understand why people jumped on that bandwagon...I seriously doubt George Lucas was attempting to be a racist. Wasn't the guy who played Jar-Jar African-American? He obviously didn't see a problem with it... As for you, Lord Satasn, I agree. I can't imagine watching Episode I first...it just seems wrong, yet I can't put my finger on why...I think Lucas waited too long to do the other movies, and I think he made a fatal error in relying so heavily on computer-generated sets. It just doesn't look the same as really building a Moisture Farm in Tunisia...
  8. Odinson sounds like a Sith Marauder (Maybe its the viking thing?). Forget the lightsabers, you should wield dual battleaxes!
  9. Ban would have been infinitely better than the Cathar...very well written, IMO.
  10. That sounds good to me. I'll buy it no matter who makes it, but I think Obsidian should try again. Bioware is moving away from franchises.
  11. Your argument that The Force may repels both light and dark extremes to keep a balance was perfectly valid. However, I don't see how you can draw any comparison between The Force seeking to keep a balance between dark and light and the theological claims of either Judaism or Christianity. The Force is based on what George Lucas believes about good and evil, not Christianity, even though his view may have been based on his own vague understanding of the pseudo-christian values he grew up with. To say that the "The Force is Judeo-Christian", is not true. Maybe I misunderstood your argument, if so, please explain.
  12. I really didn't find Jar-Jar half as annoying as the director who made him the Mega-clown. In Episode II, I found him alot less annoying. He was a simple-minded alien trying to do what was right and was used for evil (Palpatine influenced him to begin the motion to grant the Supreme Chancellor emergency power). The battle at the end of Episode I was just way to Synthetic and slapstick. What in the name of all that is sane were those stupid oversized paintballs the Gungans were throwing? I contrast the whole issue with the Ewoks who were: 1) Appealing to younger audiences 2) A source of laughter/comedy 3) Clumsy and simple WITHOUT ruining the seriousness of the last half of RotJ. I picked Nute Gunray.
  13. I always thought of the force as a morally neutral power source that anyone could "tap in to" to further own aims, whether selfless or selfish. I think the whole idea is fundamentally flawed , because if the Force is morally neutral, why would it seek a balance between the dark and light side? If you could choose to strive for good, or for a balance of good and evil, what would you choose? For example, if your town was home home to a local authority which attempted to keep the peace and the Mafia, would you want a balance between both, or to eradicate the group causing suffering? I never really thought of either side as wanting a balance as much as wanting to destroy the other. What great intelligence is orchastrating the return to light in times of darkness, or the encroaching darkness in times of light? The Medichlorians(sp?) ? Or is it really just an ammunition dump avaliable to either side? Interesting stuff.
  14. I thought the three of them where great...I really can't decide if I like a male or female Revan better...I almost wish they would have just chosen for us.
  15. Somehow I was expecting that argument... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Your constant bickering brings color to my dreary day. If this was a T.V. show, you guys would be my favourite characters! I think the cheesiest line is "The day we stop believing democracy can work is the day we lose it". US Propoganda tripe. Star Wars is a representation of the rise and fall of America. Seriously, look: (or read...I guess ...actually, I guess you have to look to read anyway. crap) Episodes 4-6 : The American Revolution 1) All Imperials are British actors 2) All Rebels are Americans 3) Massive Empire defeated by gung-ho Rebels. Episodes 1-3 : The Fall of American Democracy 1) Mighty Republic undermined by whining poloticians 2) Peaceful leadership ousted by "New, Exciting Hardliner "Hawks" 3) Small-scale skirmish manipulated to start a vast war 4) Hawks show real face, destroy democracy and conquer everyone. :D That should give you something to argue over.
  16. Yeah, I am too and of course, I believe that my faith, when not misread, offers greatest equality to both genders. It was more of a stab at stereotypes than the ravings of an athiest, which I am not. Perhaps the delivery was not light-hearted enough. I still don't see why people are so against Revan being female , although I prefer the Male LS. I wonder if Bastila is in the game if you say Revan was a LS Male?
  17. I concur. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, lets give that rabbit trail a wide, wide, wide berth. I don't understand were some of you are coming from. There are good reasons why women have as a rule been left out of the upper echelons of the "real" military, and yet good reasons why in a sci-fi environment, it seems neither strange or out of place. Surely not every world in the Galaxy is like ours, in which every one of the five major religions have relegated women to the back seat of society? :D must nervously hide from fanatical religious worshippers...
  18. You are absolutely right. I hate the Yuuzhang Vong. The Courtship of Princess Leia and The Truce at Bakura were decent.
  19. They write both parts of the romance wether or not your PC is male or female, so why would they feel any more icky than normal? Just a thought.
  20. Guess why none of them have a combat position? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You've seen plenty of female Generals in the Marine Corps? I wasn't aware that the US Military kept plentiful amounts of Generals during peace-time, especially female ones... Hey, if you reply back and confirm it I'll believe you, I'm no soldier. I just wasn't aware there were that many female Generals in the USMC...
  21. No! Everyone should be allowed to choose their own interpretation of Revan's gender, including a film maker, Novelist, and casual gamer etc.
