    Well I'll be butched. It's been raining heavily all day. Seems totally out of the blue with it being so clear and nice all week. Also, doesn't typically rain much in Sept. here. As they say ... "Winter is coming."

    Well, a really good ice daiquiri or something is all right. But it's too much bother, plus I have to clean the blender. Rum and cola is about the most complicated I tend to be (cola cuts down the icky taste). The main thing besides taste is I'm not a huge fan of the alcohol effect. Beyond that first initial 30 minute tipsy burst, doesn't do much for me, really. Certainly doesn't make me feel better. If anything, being drunk is likely to depress me more.

    I don't have any philosophy on the merit or non-merit (or mechanics) of multiple rings in games, but while I'm used to 2 rings from many many other games, I tend to prefer ... 4. Mostly because that number gives me more "phat loot" satisfaction with a bit more gear decision-making/gear customization (vs. only 2) without yet becoming over-burdensome to my brain. I think having to decide which 8 or 10 rings I wanted to equip every time I found some new rings would drive me mad. So...4's a good number....

    ^ This. And if it was based on luck, that would = a RNG form of calculation, yes? So I probably wouldn't like it in that case, if the effects of such injuries were permanent, because there's no way, by skills, to be able to avoid it, even if you're superman in combat. RNG's in games are notoriously terrible. If the injuries were a timed penalty, then maybe. eg, break an arm, -1 to strength or agility (or whatever) for 2 weeks of in-game days. Bandages or kits to fix and such are fine. I just wouldn't want unavoidably permanent, and based on something as iffy as Luck.

    Came for the Kotor2. Lurked first, registered later. Made galleries. Had some laughs. Met some cool people. Sometimes I blathered a lot, sometimes I lurked a lot. I've taken occasional hiatuses but never stay away for long. I like it here.

    Now You See Me - fun little magician caper. Long on magic tricks, short on depth and explanation. It's a "don't wonder if it's believable, just ride the ride" types. But enjoyable enough for passing time. (Most) of the cast made it seem better than it probably actually was, but that's ok.

    Today I've had a certain song stuck in my head. Over and over. Just when I thought it was gone, there it came back again. You know that song... "What is LOVE? Baby don't HURT me, don't HURT me, no more..." Rob a bank on the way?

    GT Oxcart. It would probably be a different sort of game in certain things, of course. And it doesn't have to be ancient Rome. Could be an alien planet, too.

    Mystery meat boogers and a chocolate shake from Carl's Jr. Once in a while it's tasty and what you want. Especially when you're going to rent a movie and flop on the couch.

    Red Dead - yeah, if that one was on PC I would have tried it. It looked potentially fun. But it wasn't, so.... If GTA (or a lot of games, actually) was set in ancient Rome, with chariots instead of cars or something like that, then maybe. Just not into modern urban settings. Or modern-gear jungle combat. etc. NW:Online - almost have 12,000 gear score now, and that's without having all lvl7 enchants. Divine and action points go back up sooper fast and I kick butt...for a cleric, anyway.

    Haven't played a single Rockstar game yet, myself. And GTA always seemed to be a game series with little appeal to my tastes, since I'm not into the whole underworld/gang/mob boss type scenarios, let alone vehicular gameplay.

    I think if you pricked my finger, I would bleed diet Mt. Dew. A cool, mild morning...good for doing some yard trimming with favorite sharp implements.

    If TWD=The Walking Dead, it's nothing like it. I'd say WWZ is more akin to 28 Days Later, only on a less intimate, mass world scale. WWZ's weakest point, I'd guess, is that after the first half hour or so it doesn't do much with character. Feels like a lot of moving from scene to scene in order to show chaos.

    NWOnline: Stayed up all night (starting from midnight) trying to cram in a few more petal-bought items and as many crafted foods as I could before the Festival period ended at 7am or 10am or whatever. Wanted to use up all the materials I'd already gathered, mostly, and you can never have enough Squash Soup!** - only to discover that the little patch-update they're doing this morning will include ... an extra day of Festival. So I could have been in less of a hurry. **the soup gives you critical hit bonuses that can stack with potion bonuses etc. I must have 800+ of them by now....

    I used to be a big S. King reader, but since the early to mid-90's I started to get tired of his increasingly predictable, long-winded novels and haven't read many of his things since then. And I couldn't get into the Dark Tower line. His older stuff I still love and re-read. I can be picky about TV/film adaptations - the only adaptations that I think are great are the films Misery, Shawshank Redemption, and Stand By Me. Everything else varies between "pretty watchable with good parts/aspects" to "torturous". I did like The Stand for the most part, liked Storm of the Century (without having read that book) and found the kids portions of IT decent but the grown-up sections pretty awful. I'd agree with your wife that Langoliers and Tommyknockers were trash. Langoliers the story I loved to death so that was particularly disappointing. Anyway, I haven't read Under the Dome, but the series is so-so. It starts off pretty well actually, but the longer I watched the more eye-rolling and annoying it became. Felt like a pretty by the numbers "King cliches" TV treatment. Could be that part of the problem is turning it into such a long series, instead of just 3-5 episodes. That and the actor playing Dean Norris' character's son.

    World War Z - zombies aren't generally my thing but I found the film to be fairly decent. First half better than the 2nd half and the ending was a bit too "tidy" in its solution (as are a lot of "potential end of the world event" films), but plenty watchable.

    Leftover white rice. A bit of whole milk. A little sugar and vanilla. Mix together in a bowl, heat in microwave for a minute, eat with a big soup spoon. It's not tapioca pudding and the rice aspect is a little bland, but it still tastes pretty good. Which makes me wonder if a little vanilla in a bowl of Frosted Mini-Wheats would also be tasty.
