Well, yes, but that could mean he sits on that couch in a few bits, sits around a board table for a few minutes, has a phone convo or two, and then has a 5 minute end-film fight sequence.

Love the 2nd pic, Shady. Makes me want to pull up a chair and enjoy the view. The last one makes me think of someone I knew from the East Coast. He'd always talk about enjoying the turning of the colors in fall - something we don't get in large quantities, typically, around here.

Was Keanu's role in the film very big? I saw that in the VoD list and I was tempted to rent it for an entertaining chuckle, if you know what I mean, but I wasn't sure if he'd only be in for like 5 minutes. Seemed mostly about the other guy.

Double-posting, different subject: We are apparently late, underestimated, or whatever, on paying $49 on part of our last self-employment Federal Tax payment. So they sent us another bill, of course. For $115. Penalty and interest. For a month. This is why, in the US, you do not mess with the IRS. I remember one time, for almost a year, they kept saying we owed them more, and we'd pay it, and they'd come back a month later and say we owed them more + interest that we couldn't avoid since we'd only know about owing it when they sent the bill....IRS is the devil, that is all.

Doesn't give me headaches, but 3D Avatar didn't impress me at all so I haven't bothered since. Still, my fave reviewer (who doesn't typically like or recommend 3D) raved that 2D wouldn't do it justice. It's made me curious.

Got ticked off at Steam's software + update demands + installer when it gave me can't connect errors (hadn't been "online' in 2 months...). Took me 2 hours to figure that one out (at least I didn't have to reinstall games...) and then I didn't feel like playing the game anymore. It's been a pleasant weekend overall, however. Some gaming, some out and about-ing, some family. All nice and relaxing. Except when my cat gallops around the house knocking things over during some fur-shedding, yowling dervish mode. The animal shelter lady said "they're 6ish, don't expect them to be too active, cause older cats don't do kitten-y things." ... Mr. Black says "haha you're wrong."

Anyone see Gravity in 3D yet? I'm planning on seeing it this week and it might be the 2nd movie I see in 3D, ever. Also...best thing about 2nd Hobbit trailer is Cumberbatch's voice. Because, y'know, I'm a fangurl. I still won't see it in the theater, tho.

--Hubby's been obsessively playing BL2 again. He wants the new cheapie dlc/max level upgrade (level upgrade isn't a free patch like I'd thought it might be....) with the new "overlevels." Sounds weird, but ok. Guess we'll be getting that sometime soon. --Used my oodles of dust-gathering diamonds in NWO to get a few dozen Keys and opened some of the new lockboxes. On the 25th lockbox I lucked out and spawned the Pseudodragon pet. It's a cutie. I also got a ton of "planar idols" so I ended up with 550k AD back. Done with that. Don't care about the CTA skirmish event... --Haven't bought the black cat in Path of Exile. The game will be "officially released" soon I think...maybe a year after that, I'll be interested in playing it some more.

Mount, pets and other creatures
LadyCrimson replied to Grinsevent's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
Still want a cat familiar! ...I have yet to like mounts in this type of graphic perspective games. They never feel right, tend to be awkward to use etc. And the only game where I liked actual mounted combat was Mount and Blade. I have nothing against mounts, I just don't think they work well, mechanically, outside of specific viewpoints/graphic GUI perspectives. Yet. -
The guy on the right, in the video, looks really familiar, as is the name Stahl. I keep thinking that one of these days, I'm going to see someone I actually knew (or is related to someone I knew) in highschool, or summer camp, or something, on Kickstarter.... The game itself looks intriguing, although I'm not clear if all the action is going to be via the ship? You can wander the ship and seems to be some chr. models around but not very clear. I tend to prefer chr. avatar games vs. spaceship battle sim...a combo of both would be fine.

Watched some of the network new series premieres. Michael J. Fox's show ... not as sitcom-y as I was expecting, which isn't good or bad, just not what I was envisioning. Fox himself is fine/great as always, but not convinced about the show itself. I did find myself shouting "Marie!" once, tho. The actress playing Fox's wife is Marie from Breaking Bad. Cool to see her do something less...tormented. Robin William's show - oh man when he adlibs stuff, he's so hilarious. But kinda like with the Fox show, the jist of the series is a bit dubious. Williams is the only reason to watch, I'd guess.

Not playing it at the moment, but when I drifted to the Path of Exile website recently, I noticed they have a new black cat pet. If I thought I'd play the game again, I'd get it, but not going to spend cash right now. Still....y'know me. I want it. It'd be like having my own Mr. Black with me. Outside of that, I decided I needed to return to some city building, so I've been going through the Caesar3 campaign again. Probably won't finish, but it's fun laying out roads and trying to control those crazy market ladies.

I think there were points made, during the show's run, that in some sense or other, to one degree or another, almost everyone can have a "break bad" moment or three that can lead them down not the best paths.

The Breakfast Club. Man did I love that movie when I was 17. And 20. And 25. I haven't watched it in a very long time now and it was on Netflix. And while I still liked it, I don't think I love it anymore.

The finale of Breaking Bad felt a bit more like an epilogue episode, rather quietly wrapping up a lot of bits and such. Not too much action (appropriate, really), but the end packed a punch and made me go "yeehaw". A fitting ending, I think. Not a full redemption, maybe not any kind of redemption really, but some kind of inner peace type of thing. 7 million times better than the Dexter finale.... Idle thoughts:

Going to make some pepperoni, mushroom and jalapeno "mini-pizza things." Which aren't exactly real pizza, but at least they're cheap and mostly satisfy the craving. Then it'll be time to watch Breaking Bad, after which I'll cry into Mr. Black's fuzzy shoulder for a bit because my fave show is over. At least for a while there will be post-season baseball. Boston and Oakland this year.

Keyrock's Hopefully Attractive Rodent Thread
LadyCrimson replied to Keyrock's topic in Way Off-Topic
Wat? (it's all about the first 20 seconds) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QS47v1j29ec -
Typically don't care about them. It's not that they can't be well done/neat-o, I just wouldn't miss them if they weren't there. They're also things that I believe should be left to act-ends or the endgame or something, eg not frequent (not every "boss" encounter, say) and doesn't interrupt general gameplay. Also, if they're in there and more than 3-6 seconds long, should be skippable via the ESC key or whatever. Always. Anyway ... stuff like narration over a nice painting between Chapt/Acts or whatnot is fine/I'd sorta expect that. But as others have said, I hope Obsidian won't waste resources trying to make shiny cinematics for this one. Not necessary.

LOL at the Dexter/Mr. White photochop. Pretty funny.

Drive was an ok movie and I can kinda get why some might really like it, but yeah....I'm in the "it and Gosling wasn't that awesome" camp. I think hubby said it was "ok" ... altho that tends to be his standard answer for everything. We loved that show...I have that disc as well.

I got in a fight with another girl when I was in 7th grade. Kicking and rib-punching and rolling around on the asphalt. It hurt, I got in trouble, and I learned I didn't like fighting. And Ros, I'm glad nothing major was injured (I'm hoping), since you're here posting...hope the rest of the weekend goes better for you.

Tried watching the pilot/first episode of Showtime's "Homeland." it has some great name actors in it, who all do very well, but I found it rather underwhelming. It probably gets more involving the more you watch, but the pace is very slow. I didn't dislike it, but neither did it make me want to watch another episode. Often I won't watch a series past the first few episodes while hubby continues to watch it. Typically there will be two to four series at a time we make time to watch together, but one by one most have had their swan songs, so not too much lately. Keep trying to find something new the past months, but not much appeals long term. Altho I have hopes for M.J. Fox's return. Breaking Bad and Walking Dead are the only two I've kept up with week to week as they actually air for a while now and I'm losing interest in WD a bit. I'll still tune in this season but not sure how much longer I'll stick with it.

Rumination: I can sometimes find myself lost while scrubbing the bathtub. Where you start out intending to just give it a quick 10 minute once over and an hour later I'm scrubbing grout with bleach and a toothbrush and woe to anyone who tries to get me to stop before I'm ready to stop. It's not that I super enjoy scrubbing the bathtub (I never start the day going "Man I can't wait to clean that tub, it's gonna be hours of fun!"), nor do I find the over-board action significant (outside of a vague sensation of completion-ism), and it certainly doesn't involve my imagination or creativity ... unless I start mixing chemicals to try to make a new soap scum cleaner perhaps. Is that immersion? It's certainly tunnel vision. And I find that same sense of rather inexplicable and seemingly mindless obsession can apply to/add to gaming, to some degree. It's why I can spend four hours chopping wood in Skyrim to no real purpose. There needs to be more than that to the game to have a long-term impact, of course, but it's certainly part of it. I don't think I really understand it even in myself, I only know that games that don't have it, at all, tend to bore me.
