When I first got into CRPG's I bought a baby-name book so I could just rifle through it and pick one at random if I liked the way it looked. The book had all kinds of exotic names and odd spellings that looked "fantasy game-ish" to me at the time. Heh. These days I tend to just cobble together a name based on a chr's art looks or game function, with purposeful misspellings that = something that looks like a name at first glance. Maybe for the first chr. in PoE I'll make more of an effort to come up with something less oddball.

The other forums do allow spoilers, but they are currently titled/described for the Kickstarter/development period, which is now confusing, especially to new members. If you look at the South Park or Dungeon Siege3 forum sections, that's the typical game-release forum structure done in the past - PoE being what it is tho, who knows what they'll do this time around.

My impression is what she posted are bigger than the game portraits would be? So maybe she wanted to showcase them larger for detail...with the idea that people would crop/use them as they saw fit, to use in their gameplaying, if they wished. That is not the same thing as wanting her original's re-posted on the internet/forum itself. She also (in the original post) clearly said they might not be finished/she maybe was still tweaking them and that they were not "cropped to proper size yet." eg, maybe she was originally going to eventually post her finished ones, in a proper size for game use, for people to use. I don't know if that was actually her plan, mind, I'm just saying could be. So here you all are, jumping the gun and getting on her case, so now it's doubtful she will. I probably wouldn't if I was her.

I sometimes want to hire someone to clean the house a couple times a month or something, but then I realize I'd probably decide they were terrible at cleaning, so I haven't yet bothered. eg, I'm too ocd about certain cleaning thingies to have someone else do it for me. It's not that I'm a super clean-neat freak with a pristine house 24/7 - only that certain things have to be done a certain way or I go bonkers. ...slept a lot this weekend, since for part of it my head felt kinda like the exploded-head silver terminator in T2. Currently awake and listening to the light rain that suddenly showed up. May try to watch some Netflix, since of course now I'm not sleepy.

I have removed the non-watermarked, altered versions of the original portraits. The creator of those portraits didn't want them posted in the fora like that, so I don't consider it proper to do so "just because you can." Let's not do that again. It's fine to discuss watermarking art vs. not, but it can and should be discussed without violating Wespenfresser's potential copyright and personal wishes. P.S. - btw, being someone who likes to do amateur photography at times, I completely understand where she's coming from. It's a tough thing, the public internet vs. how much we want to share, at times.

I stopped eating canned tuna a long time ago because of that. I mean, once in a great while, but I used to eat tuna for lunch quite often as a kid/teen. But I guess I didn't like it enough to keep on eating it despite myself (like I do with too much beef, haha), so now I don't.

Oh btw, I think arsenic is not currently regulated in most food stuffs. Including rice products. It is regulated re: drinking water, I believe. http://www.consumerreports.org/cro/news/2014/01/fda-data-show-arsenic-in-rice-juice-and-beer/index.htm

Of course we do. But my impression is that they are woefully understaffed and likely often politically blocked, along with the usual notions of many many loopholes and ever changing ideas of what levels constitute enough of a danger to alter current production rulings, as well as whether a product is consistently overboard in general or if it's just a single brand, or if it's a "natural" byproduct and people should just not eat so much of it, and so on.

I'll probably restart a dozen times before I "discover" a chr. that I like enough to finish the game with. eg most people will have finished the game twice before I even get halfway there. I'm typically the same re: fog of war type stuff, as well, although as the years (and years) go by I find my aging attention span/impatience occasionally trumps curiosity.

Consumer Reports has done a lot of little reports over the years about arsenic levels in food, among other things. It's always a little disconcerting.

My memory is fuzzy at this point...there were brief Atari (kid) and Nintendo (late teen) and pc text attempts (20's), but I didn't get really into electronic gaming until Doom. So there was Myst, Diablo, Tombraider, DungeonKeeper, various others. Still, I hadn't played a whole ton of different games at the point when I saw BG1 in the store. I recall thinking it might be sorta like Diablo or something. Haha! I had no clue about D&D, just thought it might be fun to play. Anyway, I installed it and got sucked into it for a long time. Pretty much had me playing other story-crpg's for many years after. I do not miss the days of multiple disc swapping.

The funny thing (to me) about those are that it seems to affect more than the characters. eg, the enemy lions get giant heads too. Haven't played enough to know how universal it really is, but the lion thing cracked me up.

1 - If I had 25k I was willing to spare, I'd so snatch that tier of the Conman thingie. I'm not surprised at all that it's over 2 million now with so many tiers sold out. 2 - I love Jensen, but most of his singing vids at Supernatural conventions kind of make me cringe. I get why it's awesome in the fan way, but when not actually there, I just notice he's not actually that great at singing.

Pet cats? +1 Josh's cat is pretty adorable, but since I'm horribly biased, I think mine is the cutest one.

Speaking from teenage-phase experience, I think LSD as a cure would likely be worse than the problem itself. Edit: no, haven't tried that one yet, Grom. If they continue to be this frequent I'll ask the doc about it, thanks. I get halo's/light sensitivity, nausea, occasional vomiting, and the pulse-pounding, curl on the floor worsening with any physical exertion (one prays one doesn't have to go to the bathroom during one...). It's tolerable when it's a couple times a year, but this month has been horrid. My brain is fried. I can also get pseudo ones from allergies occasionally - which I initially thought the first one this month was - but they're usually not quite as severe.

Haven't played it in a while, but 7 Days to Die is moving to Unity5 for the next update, and this afternoon, glancing through the art guy's blog is making it seem like a vast improvement visually. I'm sure it still won't be uber graphically or anything, but a big improvement. I especially like the detail of the biomes finally not just being these ugly sudden hardlines, but more of a transition period. http://joelhuenink.tumblr.com/ Still no update release date but probably end of month...hopefully my head/brain will cooperate and I'll get to play it (along with PoE) upon release. ...before migraines started up again, I had gotten one character in Path of Exile to lvl60ish and the personal hideout to two sections. Based on the brutal gear-check aspect of the 3rd difficulty, it's unlikely I'll get much farther. Too much work for me. Oh and the RNG of the gem/orb stuff was horrendous. After using up 50 of one type just trying to get 3 sockets on a weapon to be the color combo I wanted, I decided to ignore that method. Probably won't go back to it again anyway, until Act4 in April or whatever. If then.

*waves* ...been suffering from a rash of migraines. Have always had one or three of them a year (most years) since I was a teen, but don't know why I'm getting so many all of a sudden. I've been pretty much staying off the computer or doing anything else that basically boils down to staring into a rectangular shaped lightbulb for hours at a time. ...taking the usual pain meds, seen a doc, etc. Could be early menopausal hormone changes are making things go crazy or something. At the moment just hoping they'll stop/reduce back to the old pattern again. Not much else I can do really. On the better days I do some light spring gardening and exercise. Mostly I listen to music and pet my cat.

Path of Exile is reminding me of how much I initially hated the "waypoint" systems back when Diablo2 game out. In D2 once you became familiar with the potential map layouts you could dash for the waypoints without too much trouble (especially as the teleporting sorc, haha), but yeah ... it's a really annoying system when you just want to find the bloody wp and logoff and then you can't find it...running around/fighting for an hour longer than you intended. So far found a couple Masters/did their quests, but now I keep encountering this one master who tells me to "not kill a certain someone/leave them at low health for 10s" but then that someone is nowhere to be found. One time tried doing as requested with a random monster but didn't work. And if I leave the area he's in, the master quest disappears. **** that Master, then.

Wrath of Khan is still my fave but Voyage Home was certainly entertaining and fun to watch and I'd probably place it 2nd.

Can I play this with 3-4 chars?
LadyCrimson replied to Slish's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
I'll have to see what the game is like re:npc's first, but I always enjoy replaying these type of games whilst trying to use smaller parties. Although in the old days that was partly because dragging 5 bumbling AI figures around drove me crazy. But also because I like using that method to make the game "harder" vs. turning up difficulty settings, especially if those settings just increase enemy dmg/reduce your dmg. or whatever. -
^^That last one is pretty. =============== ...never mind my dorky looking chr. Kitty!

*runs around town, does yardwork etc.* *a thought pops in, "I should share/ask that on the forum"* *much later, login to the forum ... what was that...tip of my tongue - can't remember* Oh well. Story of my life. I think it was related to human memory, like how well ppl recall things they learn...but. Ironic!
