1) Every suggestion Gromnir made. But I want to switch between turnbased and realtime whenever I want. 2) Lots of non-combat abilites and spells apart from some dialogue options. I want to steal, charm, hypnotise, manipulate the environment, have a skeleton army, create Illusions that frighten people (or to replace stolen things, so people dont notice something got stolen), look through doors, turn people into animals, torture people (maybe not, but I want to have the option to do so), that kind of stuff. I always want to have non-combat options for everything. 3) Incredibly hard puzzles. Like the ones in the early computer days that keep you thinking all day long, even when you are not in front of your computer.

Definitely! I always enjoyed finding non-combat solutions in the BG-Series. And I don't talk about dialog options. Pickpocketing items instead of killing the current owner (I hated it, to have to kill or even talk to the crucible knight, to get the armor back. In BG, I could pickpocket almost everything, for example Algenons cloak), charming guards to send them away (I could do that with the guys in the Copper Coronet, I couldn't do it with the guards in Rodericks Castle). That is roleplaying IMHO. That is what made BG great for me. Finding real solutions not just picking options. What I really want to see is not only that basic stuff, I was talking about. I want non-combat skills and spells far beyond that.

That's fun. I'm also building a house at the moment, I'm also living in Germany and I also had the exact same thoughts as you just an hour ago. I even thought for a moment, if it was a good idea to get a KfW-Credit, invest all the money into Pillars and pay back the credit when the money comes back.

Update #106: New Obsidian Game Announced!
Lord_Mord replied to BAdler's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Announcements & News
If that is what you think they did, you didn't get the point of the story. -
Everyone is tougher than you??? You could easily wipe every living being out of this game. Even on PotD your killiness enables you to slaughter dragons, krakens, hordes of ogres and ancient evil beardy men with epic magical powers. The game is not linear enough, the game has too much text, the 2D graphics are ugly. What the hell is wrong with you, kids? Lets face it: You should probably reconsider sticking to WoW or beat dead some kittens. Whatever you kids do these days to waste your time.

Why is wand "two-handed"
Lord_Mord replied to adikKt's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Yes, that is exactly how PoE works now. Shoot the pistol than switch weapon set. I like the club thing. You can shoot it once, then use the sabre without loosing time to switch weapons, BUT you only have a weak "club" for your offhand. -

That is bulls... How would you reload? -
I want to patch my game from 3.00 to 3.01 on Linux. There is a patch for the base game available, but the expansions are only available as Version 3.01. No patch that can be downloaded separately. Do I really have to download those and reinstall them? Is it possible to patch the main game, but leave the expansion as it is

Too much text ......
Lord_Mord replied to Brimsurfer's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
I want to buy this game, you are talking about. The only problem I can see is: Who shall translate it into german? Shurely not the guys who translated PoE. -
The supplies mechanic is bad
Lord_Mord replied to Arnegar's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Unless you are dumb like me, don't find the staircase and fight your way upstairs through the other levels with no extra supplies. -
Character-less Voice Acting
Lord_Mord replied to Brimsurfer's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Just googled that guy. Somehow he manages to look like both of them. -
My guess is: Game Developers do that, because in their 3D-Programs Menus are similarily organized. Just dropdowns inside dropdowns. And because they hate it themselves, they do everything with shortcuts. My solution would be a "responsive" approach. If there is enough space on screen, show us the whole thing. If not, use the bag-icon. Wait, I have another idea: What if the bag-dropdown does not open above the bag-icon, but to the right (pushing everything else to the right) and it could be left open, if someone decided to. So everyone would be happy.
