  1. Glad this turned out ok after the minor flap during the early release. Bodes well for PoE and the new Torment game.
  2. Well if you feel that way I hope you are testing all the harder to help the game meet this tight deadline.
  3. Really? It's just a freakin' beta. I'm not sure how you're seeing so much doom and gloom for the game based on the beta at present. There are actually a lot of positive things in it. Sure, there are plenty of things that need addressing, but very few (if any) that I'd put into a major overhaul category. Fanboy or not, I just don't see the 'shot in the knee' here. I have to say I have never heard somebody say 'sure it gets great reviews now but it SUCKED in beta. Don't buy it'
  4. Eh the usual suspects howled the same knee jerk reactionary stuff about Wasteland 2 and that seems like it has had a great launch. It is a fact that how things are early in beta is determinative for the future of the title? I do not think the facts support this supposed conclusion at all. The testers seem like they are doing a great job improving the game and I look forward to seeing the finished product.
  5. This is not such a big deal for the humans because we can find portraits for them (granted they have to be dressed like Renaissance Italians....) but Obsidian is the only source for Orlans, Aumaua, and Godlikes so they better have a good variety of those. My character can always use Lawrence Fishburne from Othello:
  6. Hey wait a second! The anti-mancers are not our entire community. Don't leave!
  7. That is not implementing anything, that is removing something they introduced. Their early romances had no such issues. So...yeah! Back to 2008 we go.
  8. No Vailian portraits yet? I guess that means we can expect a lot more coming
  9. Huh. Weird the story I heard was that he shoplifted and was shot by the cops. Now maybe your agenda is that all unarmed shoplifters should be murdered without trial but not mine.
  10. I am not exactly sure what Feminism is. I know there are some feminists who I think have beautiful ideas and I support and ones who are horrible and I think are bigots. Supposedly these people both belong to the same ideology yet their ideas could not be more different. I will see things that say things like: 'Feminism is the radical belief that women are human beings' Which, you have to admit, is a pretty big tent for an ideology.
  11. Men just cannot get ahead in the woman's world of CRPGs.
  12. My main character will be a female Chanter and her hubby who will probably be a ranger. Then four NPCs. One of which will be that Godlike Paladin woman.
  13. The doom and gloom approach is right in your wheelhouse here
  14. Play the game, see how it actually works, and then we shall see if there is deprivation involved and if role-play actually does suffer. I get where you guys are coming from but let's give them a chance before we pronounce it a major loss. I personally never considered anything we had going on in PS:T a romance besides Deionarra and even then you are coming in at the end. So if you think that is perfect maybe it will still work out.
  15. They were big on faux-Anglo-Saxon in the first one. They don't have some faux-Frankish for this one?
  16. Best for murdering your own party members? Eh that's alright. They are more useful alive.
  17. The ones I played: BG1 > BG2 > KOTOR > DA:O > ME1 > ME2 I really enjoyed ME2 as well but man both it and DA:O showed some really disturbing tendencies. I haven't played a Bioware game since and I do not plan on it in the future, but that has a lot to do with a bad run in with EA's customer paranoia...er....service.
  18. That was just a Yahtzee joke. Generally us PC gamers are the despised scum of the industry since the publishers presume we are all thieves. I guess now that consoles are like PCs now the console gamers get to enjoy being hated by industry. Good times.
  19. Well surely you have to do something evil to be considered evil. I mean at some point. You don't just walk around thinking of evil rationalizations for doing good things.
  20. I have to admit I sort of like the old school interface I wonder what they might do to spice it up?
  21. I have used Steam for awhile now and what can I say? I appreciate the low prices and the convenience. I have no problem also playing my games from Gog so I do not see its intrusiveness in my gaming. Steam does not even start up on launch, I actually have to go start it up. I like that I have never been anything but satisfied with Steam. I know not everybody likes the auto patching but I really appreciate that as well.
  22. I guess I fail to see the appeal of going to a video game brothel to have video game sex. A romance is at least a RPing thing.
