  1. My sisters loved to cheat so that they could build houses...I, on the other hand, have always hated base-building or anything even remotely adjacent to it, so I was more the type to start with whatever is the default options they give you and never move a single thing ever. So instead I would spend a couple of hours customizing and playing dress-up with my character, and then I'd try to play the character, and then I would quickly realize that I really must be missing something because The Sims seems to have no gameplay, no interesting stories, and no characters that aren't just walking RNG dice roll people that don't matter. I don't understand The Sims, there seems to be a chunk of brain matter missing from my head that makes the game work for other people but not me.

  3. I completed Arcanum after about 45 hours, its definitely worth playing as a CRPG Overall its gets a solid 70/100 on the globally followed " BruceVC game rating system " Things I enjoyed and loved about it lots of interesting side quests good map system of how you need to find things around quest locations really humorous and quirky Easter Egg developments like the Stillwater Giant and Virgils story complex customization around different builds different ways to complete quests, the main narrative is clearly not linear and you can be good or evil. I followed the good path Worthwhile main narrative with several twists and turns around who is really the bad guy The combat is not a highlight, I ended up just attacking with my main character in almost all battles. I only used spells a few times and that was just to disarm tough opponents like the Cursed Paladin and some healing. So overall combat doesnt require much strategy or thinking But still the combat shortfalls dont detract much from the overall fun experience of the game

  5. I just wish it hadn't been AI-generated, but I guess anime memes are probably the most appropriate usage of AI, .

  6. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth It's weird. Being as old as I am and getting to the end of a game and hesitating because I didn't want it to end. Seeing something from my childhood in new lights and crying at it all over again. I'm so used to seeing things from my youth being done a disservice. I won't say Rebirth is perfect, I won't even say it's as good as the original. But it's still damned good. The team understood the assignment when they made this. It is worthy of standing alongside the media that I love. That final boss fight was overdone as hell, though. How many phases did it need?

  7. Deadfire only has <DefaultText /> and <FemaleText /> entries in all it's .stringtable files. Which are used for reactivity to the player's choice of gender in character in creation. Interestingly there is a "Neuter" gender in both Pillars of Eternity games. But is only ever used by creatures and maybe the occasional npc. It isn't implemented to be applicable to player characters from what I have seen. That would be my own assumption as well. Most likely the result of a more recent addition made to OEI Tools (the internal tool used by Obsidian) for use in Avowed, Outer Worlds 2, and future Obsidian games. And not really indicative of any specific plans for a Pillars games.

  9. oh man, it was a bit of a journey trying to decipher posts and notes I wrote nine (!!) years ago, but i can confirm that the trap accuracy bug is in fact fixed. it feels so good to get this fixed, almost a bit in disbelief that it finally happened - i have an entire section of my old gamefaqs guide that i need to delete. as promised, a hand-written letter is on its way to the irvine offices. thanks so much

  10. A recent poll in Nature showed that many scientists are looking to leave the USA due to this administration's policies, providing a windfall for other countries looking to recruit talent. Countries boost recruitment of American scientists amid cuts to scientific funding In the long term, this will matter more than any trade wars.

  11. Chaos just to clarify - I finished the game more times than I care to admit, and abandoned my ultimate simply due to the tedium back then. I have a rather clear idea of the mechanics (although still finding new ones, I have no clue why I didn't use two-handed axes before). The question was rather about what's more fun, emphasis on fun, to try out with a difficulty mod that is in-between podt upscaled and ultimate.... and after all, this is a self-defeating question only I can answer ... but yeah, I might go barb even if Rogue might be better in the long run (also wizard can turn any class into aoe melee)

  12. So, I, like, never having played Kingdom Come: Unwoked Incline, just went and looked up Theresa, because @BruceVC has kept mentioning her for a while now. I had certain expectations going into this image search, mostly because the aforementioned poster said that Veilguard did not cater enough to the horny incel core audience of these games. Now, to make this comparison properly, here's one of these character models from Veilguard that doesn't cater to the horny incel core audience. Probably because of her rack size, but that I do not know for sure, because said poster refused to actually tell what it was about that game that made it unappealing for horny incels. This is Neve in her civilian attire, i.e. in non-combat locations. Take not of the lack of anime style giant boobies. Now, before looking up Theresa, here's what I thought I would get: That's how Neve should look, I guess, to make the incels happy? And this is Theresa, apparently. At least according to a quick googling. Imagine my surprise when Theresa turned out to be a plain country bumpkin, completely unremarkable. Normal, one might say. Certainly less catered to horny incels than Neve was. This is so confusing.

  14. I beat KCD2. Not sure how I feel about it to be honest. Right now I'm a lot less interested in a sequel than I was after the first game. I did enjoy the game. Just very odd pacing. Not sure i will do another full playthrough. Kind of hope warhorse make a non KCD for their next game

  16. Have you tried watching the above video and looking at the animations? That just makes it so much worse. Killing it with fire might not be enough.
