Why blame faceless, anonymous "players" when you can blame Bruce?5 points

Basically I got bored at constantly dodging its fireballs for 30mins with my potato laptop, so I took a closer look to see if it's possible to automate the fight without exploits or Lover's Embrace and such. The biggest problem is its pull effect from Magnetic Overdrive. It will knock the victims prone then send them to inifite interrupts from normal attacks. AFAIK there're only two items to get immunity to pull: Horns of the Aurochs and Upright Captain's Belt. BPM added this immunity to fighters' Hold the Line and Tekehu, so it's much more viable with the mod. Assuming we're done with Magnetic Overdrive, let's move to tanking its attacks. Both its main and off hand has an ACC of 151, 18 PEN piece/crush with main hand and 15 PEN crush with off hand. It also has this Brutal Cleave ability, with 152 ACC and 13.75 PEN slash. Now theoretically you need 153 DEF to not get a crit, which is rather easy. But Brutal Cleave applied a stacked debuff to -15% max health, which is practically a middle finger from the designers. I don't know if it works on Graze, even if it doesn't, we need 203 DEF to make it graze every time. I don't think it's a reasonable number to sustain for a long time without exploits. So, we need summons. Many Lives is the best choice here, single chanter is enough in theory, 2 is better if we want to reposition less. Dorudugan has two attacks to hit ranged characters now: Helfire Barrage and Helstorm. Both are fire attacks, has 152 ACC and 13.75 PEN. After going below 75%, it will use Charge Helstorm periodically. This adds +5PL to Helfire Barrage, so it reaches 162 ACC and 16.25 PEN at max. 3 stacks of the buff will trigger Helstorm immediately and clear itself, so there's no 3 stack situation, and Helstorm never get improved. With 163 REF and 19.25 buring AR, every hit will be 40ish, it's impossible to die to these abilities. REF is pretty easy to get from Weapon and Shield Style, buring AR is probably the easiest to get from gears. Chanter's Not Felled or Druid's Weather the Storm help greatly, and Tekehu's chanter version of Weather the Storm is easily the easiest to automate. Lastly, because the fire attacks will clear skeletons from Many Lives, we still need to reposition once for a while. Grog pet can make it easier to escape if the colossal gets too close by accident. If we don't die in the first place the pet has no downside. TLDR: we need immunity to pull, chanter with Many Lives, everyone with 163 REF and 19.25 buring AR to almost automate the fight.2 points

None of the stuff I nominated made the final list except for BG3, so I'm bummed. JA3 definitely deserved to be on the Best Game You Suck At category, and Conan Exiles is definitely a labor of love. That being said, I'm happy to put BG3 up as Game of the Year and Story Rich game. I definitely want more games in that vein. The other options have little appeal. Hogwarts Legacy was pretty good though. My kids played the heck out of that one. Starfield was a good game and I'll play it a lot more over the years, but I'm not sure how it is innovative. It is still Skyrim in Space. I haven't played the others, but looking at the list, they are all pretty unique.2 points

Belated thanks for this mod! It's really nice to play around with different builds in an arena mode when usually I'd take NPC companions along when playing Deadfire proper. Wrapped up a playthrough of S4 earlier this year, now I'm using it to try out a 5 wizard party.2 points

Well, the Latvia is just doing the same as Brukina Faso, Mali or Niger. They are getting rid of the rest of colonial power in their country, which murdered and deported hundreds of thousands of Latvians to Siberia, and replaced them with Russian communists and their families to dilute their population which had a goal to get rid of their national identity2 points

@Malcador you are often asking, how would Russia go against any NATO country, if they struggle against Ukraine. Here is the simple description of one of their strategies. Russia already conquered Hungary as a NATO country. Through corruption without single shot fired and are working hard on Slovakia2 points

Vampyr A boss. No background or lore, just another vampire hunter standing in a warehouse, which I needed to cross, and seeing through the invisibility spell. There were two respawning mobs, who were possible to stun and bite, while the biting animation granted invulnerability. That is to say, the MC is biting a random foe while standing in fire is depicted on the image. It was a rescue side quest, where I needed to kill a vampire 11 levels above me who could 1-shoot me (on the screenshot). I could not rest and level up, because it would have failed the quest, nor could I kill the opponent (it was possible theoretically, I just could not do so). So I lured the lvl 27 vampire to the area with the vampire hunters. The vampire's AI switched to returning to his area, so he did not attack, while the vampire hunter just kept hitting him. "Choices". Chapter 3 spoilers2 points

What I do like about Vampyr is the atmosphere and visual style, voice acting and facial animations (much better than Larian's), and the MC being generally nice and unintentionally funny. About a half of the game is spent asking people random questions about their lives and occasionally about quests. The cast is reasonably interesting and diverse, and surprisingly willing to talk about their love lives and childhood traumas to a random guy at night. Technically, the information gained increases the amount of XP from the NPC should the player decide to eat them, but doing so (eating them) also damages the District's health and blocks the good ending. On the negative side, only killing the civilians, including serial killers and gang leaders, has undesirable consequences. Slaughtering legions upon legions of vampire hunters is fine. Also, it is not possible to partially drink a civilian and let them be on their merry way, while insta-killing a vampire hunter by biting is not possible either*. Additionally, only some information leads to quests. So, you can't report the above-mentioned serial killer to the police or fix a patient's arm or encourage some criminal to become a law-abiding accountant. Still, overall, it is an enormous improvement over the developer's previous game, Remember Me, where because of the MC’s unavoidable actions, an assassin blew up a hospital and the MC herself caused a flood in several parts of the city. I can't quite recall if the MC was an antihero or not. If compared to other developers, the combat and controls are significantly better than in The Witcher 3, and the MC does not get stuck in book stacks nor suffers from falling damage. *The XP gains from a civilian range from 500 to 5000, while a vampire hunter, even if he was repeatedly stunned and bitten, yields 5. Which is weird logically - the hunters seem healthy enough, but it does make sense from the gameplay perspective, as eating the civilians is supposed to be tempting. While it is not the best game ever made, if you like action-adventures with light RPG elements, it might be an enjoyable experience. It is also on sale at the moment (80% discount). Edit. Forgot to mention, the only unique boss so far is the Vampire Boss #3. The rest started to appear throughout the city.1 point

Ruins of New Londo together with the Four Kings have been defeated. Still not tried to get into Valley of Drakes, as I needed to farm some souls to get Faith from 12 to 25 for the next requirement in my Platinum checklist. Spent around 1 hour killing Royal Giants at Anor Londo for that. As a side effect, I was able to upgrade my Lighting Spear to +5 and unlock my first weapon trophy.1 point

Vampyr. Due to the spoiler nature of the boss of Chapter 3, I shall refer to them as Vampire Boss #3. So, the battle started easily enough, with the boss hitting slowly and me counter-attacking. Occasionally, the boss was throwing up blood and spawning 3 delayed AoE areas, centred on the MC, while still attacking. At 70% HP, the boss ate the human who was sitting in the middle of the arena and regained their full health. The AoE attack pattern and length kept changing during the battle, ending with covering most of the arena in uneven patches, while the boss' normal attack speed increasing. Somehow, putting XP into the biting damage helped. On another note, the area design has become irritating - too many corridors, too inconsistent rules for movement. Why can I teleport only to some ledges from some angles, but not the others that look the same? Why can't I interact with gates in combat? On a funny note, the aggro resets when the MC enters a non-combat area, i.e. the foes just turn around and return to their previous positions.1 point

Since Steam Winter Sale has started, has anyone played Cloud Meadow? I can see that it has erotic content, the question is it any good as a party-based RPG? That is to say, there are few titles I find both interesting, discounted, and possible to run (so no Lies of P or Tunic). Definitely getting Werewolf: The Apocalypse - Earthblood, though. Edit. Got Dread Delusion instead. Somehow reminds of Morrowind. Also sold 62 cards from the Steam inventory. No idea why they are still so popular, but can't complain in the context. Ghostwire: Tokyo is free on EGS today. Judging by the system requirements, I will not be able to run it on my main PC, though the storage space seems reasonable (26GB). Could try later, I guess. Is it at any point necessary to bite the civilians? XP-wise, the amount from the ones I can mesmerise (level 2) is too low and the vampire hunters and zombies have been sufficient so far.1 point

This is a community filled with ossified posters who have been talking to each other since before the dawn of these hallowed halls. Do not be so hasty to dismiss the five post rule as overkill, once you have been around for a quarter of a decade you might even appreciate the peace and quiet it brings, a bulwark against the storm. A storm only getting worse, as recently it became grave enough to break through the walls and blow unwanted posts across the forums, like so many fallen leaves in autumn.1 point

So I've managed to get it to work by changing the new node's number from "19" to "11" in Visual Studio. Which was an unused node number (presumably removed by the quest's designer when refining the quest). Honestly though I really have no idea why that worked. However any new nodes past "18" still seem to have the same issue. At this point I not so sure that this is an Apotheosis specific issue as I first thought. Here's the working version should you want to take a look: Hunting_Season_Alt_Working.zip I dunno, I swear every time I try to figure out how the quest system works in Deadfire it really just leaves me baffled... Regardless I'm just going to put it to the side for 2024 to try to figure out. I've also got some feedback that I'll write up then as well. Can't believe this tool has only been around a year! I'm still in awe of how simple this tool has made modding Deadfire! Thanks for all the work your doing on it, hope you have a great New Year!1 point

The waft emitter won’t spawn in green shield bugs. I play on Xbox series x, with one other person also on series x, shared world, he’s owner. I tried getting green shield bugs to spawn in a waft emitter raid to get the gold card but all I got was a horde of regular stink bugs. I tried using both green shield bug parts and super gas sacks and both resulted in a raid of only stink bugs. This is really hampering our ability to get 100%.1 point
