  1. Past hour
  2. It's probably the uncommitted troops on the northern border giving them conniptions rather than the relatively few actually committed. That was always going to be the problem with the RDK and pals' raids, not like all those Russian troops could be relied upon to just sit there twiddling their thumbs waiting for a new incursion. And since the strategic initiative seems to have shifted to Russia in at least the medium term they get to decide where and when to attack. There being NATO member countries' military personnel in Ukraine already was more or less confirmed by Germany last year (?) as their justification for not sending Taurus was not wanting to send any personnel themselves. Even if France sent people it'd be no actual change, if they're just instructors and not the Foreign Legion or whoever. Plus, the obligatory Soon™ for when they'd get there, (albeit that seems to be editorial and not from Syrski from what I've seen).
  3. Finished There is no Light. Tried to do the true ending*, but the 2 stages of the final boss were not particularly inspiring (the first one was timed and had to be repeated in case of failure later on). Overall, I am not unhappy that I have played it, but the game is not good due to the story/lore, level and encounter design. I will try to write a proper review some time later. *it required completing all side quests. The one where I repeatedly led the local military to be slaughtered by me, while they were trying to murder random civilians, was funny. The quest giver at no point suspected the MC of killing his subordinates.
  4. He's really going to need a new audio guy/gal, the whole thing was nearly brought to its knees because of bad audio mixing and the sound effects being badly timed and put together. Hell, even the overbearing music kind of sounds like it's underwater, it's all weak and muddy. Oh, he didn't have an audio guy/gal in the first place...uh, I guess he REALLY needs a new one, then, . Woof, nothing like some really bad audio to make you consciously realize how important all the major aspects of a production are, even in just a short piece like this...it can be tough when you're a one-man (or nearly) production and a certain element is just not your specialty. Though I don't know if the creator really intends to try to sell this as a concept to a studio - from the description, it doesn't really sound like it, but maybe you know something I don't. (e): I just looked through the comments and I guess he might try to do just that, and I also wasn't surprised when he said he took inspiration from Tartakovsky's Primal for it.
  5. Today
  6. Pretty excited if this becomes a thing. Like and subscribe, this guy needs numbers as he negotiates with studios.
  7. ya'll crazy.. and whomever decided how to number the versions is probably crazy too. I don't care what you call the system.. it's a terrible system if later versions of the game can have a lower number than the previous one. I just rechecked.. the game version is 3.7-and so on.. patch is 3.4-and so on. Sensible people don't do this sort of thing.. and certainly don't invent a system in which this makes sense, because that's just organized insanity. ya'll crazy.. every single one of you. Just ask Maerwald, he'll confirm it.
  8. Guess things must be going rough for Ukraine, I guess conveniently is all the benefactors' fault. Can't really see Kharkiv as the impetus for this, RF has been doing more damage via air raids and such for a while. I assume all the big talkers in the Baltics and Poland will now send some as well.
  9. Yup. I make a decent living, but don't spend much on myself. And no kids. So I'm glad to find something I can spend my hard-earned money on that will bring me a lot of joy and happiness.
  10. According to a recent Politico story, the "allow" side is winning in the vigorous internal debate within the Administration on this issue.
  11. Btw, I finally got that deal I've been waiting on for my new gaming computer. It gets to me June 11th. Soooooo excited! I can finally start playing the big new games!! 14th gen i9 14900KF processor (24 core, 68 MB cache, 2.4-6.0 GHz thermal velocity boost) RTX 4090 GPU (24 GB GDDR6X) 32 GB memory (DDR5, 5600 MT/s) 2 TB SSD
  12. I'm waiting for (and need) many, many mods for BG3 to make it even remotely playable for me, beginning with a 6-person party mod.
  13. If you check 3.07.1318 vs https://regex101.com/r/vkijKf/1/ and https://regex101.com/r/Ly7O1x/3/ (from the link https://semver.org/) you notice that 3.07.1318 it is NOT a valid semantic version, like you said, but NO version (taken from https://pillarsofeternity.fandom.com/wiki/Version) starting from 1.02.0508 (the first one) is a valid semantic version, by this rule (nr. 2, always from https://semver.org/) : But, you can refer to the "build number", the last number in the version, which is always incremental, so the build 1356 (from patch version 3.4.1356) is greater than 1318 (from version number 3.07.1318) and this can tell us that the patch is subsequent to version 3.07.1318 PoeII follows yet another versioning numeration as last number it's not the "overall" build (maybe is it build number "inside" that major/minor version? Only programmers know), but again, version 1.1.0.0035 is subsequent to version 1.01.0064. From version 1.1.0.0035 they stopped using leading zeros for major, minor and patch versions, but they still use for last number. It is to be said that semantic versioning system is not the bible, but indeed, obsidian system is a little weird and it can generate some confusion (as above).
  14. https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/israeli-attack-rafah-tent-camp-draws-global-condemnation-2024-05-27/ Is amusing to see people that see nothing wrong with this, totally Hamas' fault.
  15. I believe I can explain this. First, the release is coming up. Obsidian is working with the major platforms in order to prepare and push the patch out for the game (Steam, GOG, etc.) Second, the reason for the odd-looking version number for the patch is due to a change in what is called "Semantic Versioning." I can provide you with two sources: the first is to the Semantic Versioning site that explains it a bit more in detail (https://semver.org/) ... and the second source is to the collection of patch notes for Pillars of Eternity (https://pillarsofeternity.fandom.com/wiki/Version). If I had to make a guess, I'd venture to say that the new PoE patch is so impactful that it would literally push the game far past v3.7 or v3.07 (either reference works; it only depends on if you personally follow the semantic versioning reasoning, etc. Its kind of like Fahrenheit vs. Celcius.)
  16. Same here. I recognize a few, but they don't look interesting to me.
  17. You right about Viconia, its a disgrace and unrealistic because of the way Drow age. She is too old for the time gap Im waiting for a mod to change that
  18. I've not watched any of his movies, which is kind of impressive.
  19. I will not post pictures, but the fan art for those characters suggests otherwise
  20. No...and yes. He's one of the few auteurs to come out of the last decade that is getting actual budgets for his films. There aren't a ton of those around anymore, and most of the ones still working are ten, twenty years older. So I figure I have at least another decade, maybe two, to look forward of Dennis(sic) films, and it is a bit annoying that he's going to inevitably suck up a lot of the air in the room during that time. But like I said, I'm not going to continue to make the mistake by watching more of them, I don't really even want to talk or think about the guy anymore. Let Dennis and his films forever languish in the vast graveyards of my mind. James Cameron: At least he's only working on his cruddy video game movies these days (i.e. Avatar) - well, in between personally overseeing and approving of infamously terrible AI-upscaled re-releases of his previous films, that is. And actually, I'm okay with Terminator 1 and True Lies, which is at least something. I have to be honest, while I do really dislike James Cameron's work as a whole, I kind of forgot my actual least favorite director of all time, which is Darren Aronofsky: now there's a guy whose films have consistently and vehemently disgusted me so much that if I heard he was the victim of a grisly murder, genuinely my first thought would probably be "good!"...before I remember that, oh yeah, he just made awful movies, I don't really need to be a bloodthirsty lunatic because of it, .
  21. The more I think about it, the more I come to the conclusion that there is nothing wrong with the game, setting etc. They just ****ed up the marketing.
  22. Still here. Still waiting for PoE3. If it is not coming soon, we will have to make it ourselves.
