  2. Wembanyama: "I’m just glad to be part of something that’s growing to be so beautiful: pure and ethical basketball."
  3. Today
  4. From the game's launch until before the 1.0.6.0 update, the game was quite "punitive" in how we had to distribute our skill points, almost forcing us to focus on only 3 or 4 skills. And well, this was quite divisive, with some loving how we couldn't be a jack-of-all-trades and had to stick to our established playstyle (and I admit I include myself on that side), while the other side felt very disadvantaged because they couldn't see "everything" in the game in a single playthrough, like Bethesda games for example. After all, not everyone wants to replay the game multiple times just to see what's behind that door with a skill check you didn't possess, which is fair enough, actually. With the new update, things have kind of reversed; now the skill tests have become easier for everyone, without the more "hardcore" players having any choice about it. What I believe would be ideal would be to add a difficulty selector to define the amount of skill required to perform an action. For example: we have a safe that requires 6 lockpicking skill in Normal mode, while it needs 4 in Easy and 8 in Hard. It would be a difficulty selector separate from the combat difficulty, focused only on roleplaying.
  5. Have an issue where ammo for equipped guns is disappearing. I’ll shoot and reload the gun I’m currently holding and the ammo disappears for my other 3 equipped weapons. I believe it has something to do with the multitasker perk
  6. Hot take. There is nothing wrong with the Isekai genre. The problem is that authors have no creativity to make great isekai stuff. For example, imagine a dude that is lured into another world by promises of being an OP caster, only to find himself in Athas—Dark Sun, powerful, yes, but equivalent to a 12th~15th level preserver or psionicist in a brutal world ruled by sorcerer kings. All epic levels. Or persecuted by the Inquisition in Warhammer 40k as a Unsanctioned Alpha Psyker. In a dead world setting. In a Midnight setting(think Lotr if Sauron wins). In a Weird West setting, where magic is hated, no matter how powerful he is, a Sharps Rifle in .50-90 can put a hole in him from a half mile away. The problem of Isekai is that you have the Kirito tier Generi-kun with sword of fire magic saving the world in over 90% of the Isekais. There are good Isekais. For example, Drifters, instead of the teenager going to other world, is importal historical figures. Which include WW2 pilots, Oda Nobunaga, etc. Or Kono Suba. A comedy. Or Tanya the Evil. I like this Isekais. But I hate Smartphone isekai.
  7. Yeah, @Wormerine, this is my take on the term as well, so maybe we don't focus on the terminology but rarther the concept. I found clearing out the goblins in their camp and the gith (who were a bit more challenging to be sure) in their camp to be exactly this: a painful chore which, even if optional I felt compelled to do because of how evil they were, and also needeing the extra XPs because of how XP is distributed when you have a bigger party.
  8. This is good to know. Thanks. As for burning churches and butchering peasants, I'll take a hard pass on that. I play RPGs specifically so I can be the good hero who punishes the bad guys. It is literally impossible for me to kill innocents, even though I know they're just 1's and 0's.
  9. Just a note to say that for me the latest patch fixed things! NPC finally showed up Thank you Devs!
  10. What about the Rogue class? Are there any good synergies with one pistol?
  11. @ShadySands seems like Wemby shares your opinion.
  12. When reading the book "The Dyrewood, Part 2: The Broken Stone War" there seems to be a typo in the second paragraph. Sentence 4, specifically. "...Neither side can (should be could) gain the upper hand on the other resulting in a tense stalemate between the two groups...."
  13. When reading the book "The Dyrewood, Part 2: The Broken Stone War" there seems to be a typo in the first paragraph. Sentence 3, specifically. "...When it was finally over, several thousand colonists have (should be "had") been killed...."
  14. When interacting with Doran Chamberlain in Gilded Vale as a Cipher (Not talking but touching their Soul to witness a memory of their past) there is a typo in the second paragraph following the [Reach out for the Soul] option, (which begins with "The cloaked man pulls his cover closer...") The third sentence, specifically, contains the typo. "...The crier's voice grows louder and more intense as he reads and voice (*should be voices*) from the crowd start to punctuate his sentences...." I'm loving the game so far!
  15. Yes, I think this is part of it. He tries to create a distraction from all the attention from things like Epstein and its for his MAGA base. But I also think he genuinely believes the DOJ was politicized under Biden and they targeted him specifically which they did in certain ways to stop him running as a candidate. But the difference is there was legitimate legal cases which he was found guilty of. His objective to prosecute James and Comey lacks the same substance so it just becomes embarrassing for the DOJ
  16. I cut a ticket to Obsidian and they said this: There are screenshots online showing the Engineering check my guess is that they could have been unintentional and from an earlier build.
  17. I don't think that will happen unless he offloads his fantasy revenge agenda on a more rational actor. Trump's not a disciplined thinker, relying instead on hunches, whims, biases, cosmic rays, flattery, and brain farts.
  18. Brand enthusiast is to only buffing my guns damage by 20%, but does not seem to give the +10 armor it says it does. The buff is active, the gun is getting the bonus, but my armor's armor rating does not change. From testing, there is no difference in damage taken when the buff is active or inactive leading me to believe this is more than visual bug.
  19. Rings of Power S2. 5? episodes in. Since it's free here for the time being, doubt I'd have paid for prime to watch it after S1. It's an absolutely massive improvement over S1, which lifts it to being ok, more or less, and I'm not regretting the time spent watching it which I- more or less- did for S1. I'm still going to complain a lot of course, but they are far more minor complaints at least and moderated a lot by the improvement shown. So it's still got the flaws of S1, but they're less prominent and mostly more... excusable, I guess. Many conversations still sound oddly circuitous but not bafflingly obtuse, there's still some feeling that everyone is a stage actor declaiming to the audience in front of static backdrops rather than being in a 'real' world but a lot less pronounced and less frequent (ie, the world feels a lot more lived in*), there's a load of slightly illogical minor drama for drama's sake** rather than it being basically all there was and you still find it difficult to credit the elves as being thousands of years old when Elrond and Galadriel act like they're teenage siblings half the time. The pacing is also still off a bit too due to too many threads- Eregion, Khazad-dum, Lindon, Numenor, Pelargir, (Adar/orcs); and the still not very good at all and extremely pointless seeming Gandalf and hobbits odyssey. Despite the number of threads a lot of things feel like they're happening far too quickly because there's too little time for things to develop. But it is, at least, reasonably engaging. Overall, if it continues the trajectory from S1-->S2 then S3 should be really rather good. *though it is still quite bad, which it really ought not to be. Spend millions on CGI, don't spend a relative pittance on extras to make the world feel like it has actual people in it is a baffling decision. **big exclusion: Celebrimbor acting like he got pithed between scenes specifically to up the drama..
  20. decade garbage light novel fantasy replaced by garbage light novel isekai
  21. Is isekai still the genre of the day? Gosh, that's been going on for a while now, hasn't it?
  22. D4 Paladin is something new, throwing lances of holy light is always fun.
  23. It's the only good thing about the game, if one likes the 3(.5)E ruleset: ToEE combat is quite the faithful implementation of the tabletop combat system. The writing's also an absolute highlight. I very much recommend trying the opening vignettes for the neutral and chaotic evil parties, they might just be the best way to start off with an evil party in a game ever made. Because nothing tells you how EVUL your group is like burning churches for no reason or casually butchering peasants.
  24. Yesterday
  25. By that standard I would say Baldur's Gate3 has as many or as few trashmobs as you want, depending on difficulty level you pick and your skill and willingness to abuse some of game's systems.
