  2. The country looks like an economic miracle, and to a large extent that is what is important*. Mostly because economics is a spectacularly non rigorous field of study/ expertise with more similarities to religion than science. Same reason house price inflation was massively encouraged here- it made the economics look good though it was utterly unproductive and a very real drain on the practical economy because it sucked up all the investment. Worse, the houses were made from over priced materials and didn't fill the actual need (ie were built to appeal to appeal specifically to 'investors'). Why start a business when you could buy a house at 5-10% return y/y + rental with the knowledge that the government would prop you up? When house prices started to stabilise because no one could afford them the government started importing massive numbers of people to create artificial demand to keep the bubble inflated. Because economists mostly look at GDP nominal the fact that GDP per capita was actually dropping got ignored and then people wondered why everyone felt poor. Also why politicians and economists try and tell us that $10 butter in a country which makes 20x the amount of butter it needs is great, and everyone should be happy about it- it makes the country look like it's doing well economically. It'd be true if we had 1-2 million people and a quarter of them were involved in selling unimproved cow juice products like in the 50s and 60s, but we don't. Doesn't do much to dispel the old saying that there's one type of person who believes in infinite expansion in a closed system: economists, politicians and idiots. *eg you can borrow a lot more money at better rates because typically lenders look at GDP nominal as to whether you can pay the money back. Much like religion a great deal of economics is getting people to believe in stuff.
  3. The companions look quite good and the last line sounds very encouraging and appealing. Though, Microsoft still owns Obsidian. Well, that and the expectedly poor optimisation of TOW2 - I will not purchase something I cannot run, while the 4K textures would be a waste of storage space and energy. The developers not moving them into a separate free DLC show the lack of consideration for both the players and the environment. VTMB2 getting released is interesting. While I do not expect it to be a faithful successor or a deep immersive sim, it still might be an engaging action in the VTM setting. Granted, the voice-in-the-head will be silenced quite quickly.

  5. "OTOH, with the Europeans, even if they give a commitment to fight, I would not consider it credible or trustworthy." Even Belgium helped with Dubya's War On Terror Belgium Belgium
  6. I changed all my main base doors to pine for added fortification only to find my ant buggy doesn't fit through them. Had to change them all back to grass doors.
  7. Hence why would (obviously) need to be done in secret. It wouldn't surprise me to learn it has already been planned. The time frame for Ukraine to build dirty bombs is months. Zelensky's doomsday nuke option
  8. I would say that Deadfire lends the player a lot of leeway. My first playthrough I just came off the heels of the first game where I didn't fully understand the mechanics, and in the second game I understood them even less but just kinda brute forced it? I didn't understand how accuracy and defenses worked, I only really understood penetration. Even on my current play through, I'm trying to fully understand the mechanics and I've been wanting a hard wall, like the Adra Dragon in POE1, so I can learn how to properly buff my party and manage their skills and AI but the game just keeps giving me victories and it's strange.
  9. Hello, last time I was in Grounded 2 (few weeks ago) I had found and started using the Heat Wave Staff. Accidently ran into the wolf spider lurking around the area and promptly died. During my death the Heat Wave vanished and it's never been seen since. Tried to recall bag's to see if that may trigger it but alas, nothing. I'm thinking it fell through the ground and is now unreachable? I did go back to where it spawns and it is not there either. P.s. Support page doesn't allow to submit to it.
  10. tax haven are so stupid who benefit other than the megacorp
  11. Base building is one of my favorite parts of this game, I know there’s been a lot of emphasis on the combat for the second one and it shows, the combat seems a lot better with the changes they’ve been made. But I’m really hoping you’ll add onto the already vast array of building improvements. Some things I’d like to see. PAINT THE WALLS thematically it should work well since bugs have been used to make dyes anyway, I really just want the ability to paint my walls a different color. (I’d also love it if this could be applied to armor too.) ELEVATORS I can see there’s an idea forming with the ominent elevators, but I’ll be honest I hate that, I really enjoy the crude architecture that we get to build in this game, if it’s possible I’d much rather see some old school tree house pully style elevator. SHOWERS I think it’d be pretty cool to introduce showers, a hygiene mechanic might be a big shift and I’m not even sure I’d want it, but I think a buff to your stats after a shower/bath would be pretty cool. DECORATIONS Honestly the more the merrier, I really just like building up my base with tables, chairs, paintings, and more. Maybe some more styles of beds would be cool, I’d also like to see a mirror. I also think a radio with a few different music settings would be cool, maybe the stuffed buggies would “shake,” when music is playing due to the sound vibrations? CLOSING NOTE i absolutely love this game and I hope you guys keep doing updates and keep adding more content to make this game one I can play for a while. I logged so many hours with grounded 1, and I’m already addicted to the second game too.
  12. So you understand why Israel wont let Iran get nukes and they will resort to military actions to prevent this Its the same principle for the US and Russia?
  13. All in good timefor sure ...... we will definitely get a bigger mantis since its only the mantis nymph we have in the early access. For sure they'll throw in a King Scorpion boss fight in there with a Scorpion King reference
  14. The fifth teen angle makes sense given how fixated she is on the other 4 teens and her fixation on destroying ominent could be because she used to work for ominent in some capacity and then got betrayed coz it feels too personal for her. She could be a kid of an ominent employee. Woudn't be surprised if it was Beaumont's kid lol .
  15. I for one have never kept dozens consumable until the final boss, which were useless on the final boss fight. Anyone saying I did otherwise is a liar.
  16. Any Ukrainian move towards acquiring nukes would immediately trigger a full-on Russian assault to overthrow its government and take over the country--at whatever cost including using tac nukes if necessary. Any government in Washington would do the same if Mexico were to ever pursue nukes (or an alliance with Russia/China).
  17. If the US committed itself to fight, it will. If it did not, then probably no. OTOH, with the Europeans, even if they give a commitment to fight, I would not consider it credible or trustworthy. Btw, this is why I believe very strongly that Poland, Finland, and the Baltic states should enter into bilateral security guarantees with the US and possibly UK. Trusting that (European) NATO will defend them is folly which they will surely come to regret.
  18. Once again it is GamePass time. With Outer Worlds2 coming in October, and games I want to play piling up in gamepass I figured it's a good time to resubscribe and tick few of those off. So here is a list so far: 1) FTC: Firebreak - Remedy's Left4Dead-like. Ehhhh. It's not terrible, but also not particularly interesting. Gameplay is very basic, missions get old very quickly, and matches are either fairly dull (if everyone know what they are doing) or frustrating (if one or two people don't fulfill their roles). It's an ok time waster with a friend, but I think I had enough of it in a solo que. I might jump back again later after few updates, but I wouldn't recommend paying money for it. Sorry, Remedy. 2) I gave new Commandos: Origins game a go. Eh, didn't play much so far, but my impression isn't much different than from a demo - it seems like a clunkier, far less polished version of Mimimi's take on the genre. They just haven't presented any interesting challenges so far, and character kits seem basic. 3) South of Midnight - again not very deep so far. Look beautiful, and I like the vibe. Initial impression of gameplay is that it will likely not amount to much. Feels like a very basic action platformer thing 3) Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 - that's been my main thing for the last two weeks. It's great! Fairly contained jRPG, with all that I like about genre but none of the tedium. Combat is straightforward but engaging. Vibe and story is the highlight - great soundtrack, compelling character writing, I am yet to decide on plot - it is shaping to be a bit more straightforward than I was hoping for, but we will see - I am confident a big twist is just ahead of me. Perhaps not a groundbreaking game, but with a lot of heart and passion. 4) The Rogue Prince of Persia - it's really good. Sharp artstyle, and really enjoyable gameplay. They are also doing some smart story thing - not quite copying Supergiant's work in Hades, but still managing to naturally weave story into it's rogue-lite structure.
  19. Every teen loves pizza and so do gamers! With the Community Garden in development, cherry tomatoes would be a great plant to have with in the garden. Think blueberry bush size bush but cherry tomatoes. Same mechanics only harvesting cherry tomato to put in grinder to make "tomato paste". Grind grass seed to make "flour" bake those with " whatever bug loot chunk developers desire" to bake pizza. I can just imagine the teens audio reactions to eating a bug meat pizza.
  20. As the teen, being forced to a scavenge and then hunt. You would think that Blueberries, a food that they are familiar with, sold at a grocery store, or even grown at a parent's home. Would be juicy treat. Bringing up hunger and thirst meter marginally when eating a chunk. It could also be baked in the oven if you ground up grass seed into a type of flour and make "blueberry tart" or something equivalent. I definitely feel grinding grass seeds for flour could open up a whole bunch of new food recipes. I would love to see cherry tomatoes added to the community garden. Then grind tomato into tomato paste and use grass flour to make every teenager food staple "pizza".
  21. We need more icons for our chest storage!
  22. Even GDP (PPP) per capita isn't the greatest metric, as it doesn't show how capital has been divided in the country. Ireland is good example where GDP (PPP) per capita does not give accurate picture how much average Irish person has money, because they have inflated GDP because they have so many mega corporates flowing money through Ireland, but most of the Irish don't benefit from that money, because corporate taxes there are so low and corporations don't really invest in Ireland.
  23. Reminder: the only GDP that really matters is the Purchase Price Parity variety. And really, GDP (PPP) per capita since that tells you how well the people it's relevant to are actually doing- or at least, is the best general and handy measurement of it there is. China is 78th, there. GDP (nominal) is an awful measurement and it's use is responsible for a lot of extremely bad economic management.
