The slot for the LAN card is forcing my GPU's PCIe slot to be x8, so now my GPU backplate is an additional cooler for my LAN as I had to move it one slot down which means there is a millimeter of space between the LAN card heatsink and the GPU backplate... I need to get another cooler for my CPU and free up the first PCIe slot...

The All Things Political Topic - SNAFU edition

I can't help but laugh every time I see or hear the term "warfighter". Language is completely arbitrary, I know, but somehow that one in particular seems too absurd for me. -

It's OUT. And it's not 100% what you think it is (another typical Boomer Shooter / Blood clone). What sold chapter 1 to me back then was the end of the demo, where suddenly the music stopped, you were crawling through a tight space with but your lighter showing the way. And the thing opened up into a genuine survival horror-ish setpiece... Apparently chapter 2 goes even more into that direction. -

You mean for the Monk class or in general? Depends on what you want, where the "power" should go and on which difficulty you play and also on the party composition. All in all the Priest is the most impactful class in the game because it has the most influence on your party's performance. The exact build doesn't matter much, it's the (buffing) spells which make the Priest so good, but until you get Spell Mastery those spells are all per rest. But Priests also have Inspiring Radiance (+10 accuracy to the party, stacks with everything) and (Painful) Interdiction per encounter which are both very useful. And they can get to a Fighter's accuracy level with a weapon of their god (for example Priest of Berath: Great Sword or Mace) - which can make them decent weapon users, too. Many players don't like to main a Priest though because it's "only" doing support and that's no fun to them (although it's very powerful). So if you are looking for a build with more "self-contained" power, all things considered I would probably recommend a Spiritshifting Druid (Cat or Boar form). It is highly versatile (can do single target and AoE dmg and CC, healing and support), doesn't rely on per rest abilities in normal encounters because it has tremendous melee dps output while shifted - but if needed can cast powerful spells, too. Once you get your Spell Mastery picks (each time you pick a per-rest spell that turns into 1/encounter) you will only need your per-rest spells in long, tough fights after which you will need to rest anyways (because of the loss of health). Imo this is the build that usually feels the most powerful because it drops foes so quickly in melee without any per-rest resources - while it then can also do very good spells suchs as Relentless Storm which can decide fights by themselves.

Not really sure where to put this, but the BBC have recreated a lost radio programme by Nigel Kneale (The Quatermass Experiment, The Stone Tape) from his copy of the script the original used.

I hope this is not seen as just a compliant, but as a rational feedback from a member of the Grounded fan community. If I start with the short story of the experience with Grounded 2, I'll say I'm glad to know there are so many other games to look forward to while I wait on this trickle of disappointment so far and am not to optimistic of the long wait for full complete launch of Grounded 2. What happened? Did you guys forget how to make this game or did some of you lose your passion or imagination for it? the reason I ask this, are as follows. So much hype was put out there to influence the expectation that the sequel will be better or at least live up to the first Grounded that I fell that's what you guys are riding on instead of developing up to that. It is a fact that early access to the first Grounded had way more than what we now have for Grounded 2. The first update to early access of the first Grounded gave more as well. With the Hairy and Scary update as well as the limitations and the missed growth from the great potential it is nowhere even close to building onto, from, or surpassing Grounded. I thought you people were "bringing it" since the success of grounded that you not only were going to expand on it but also open up to the community to expand on the Grounded universe even more. At first glance the Hairy Scary update is more bug fixes than it is content. For example Facing Axl is pretty much redundant it's like you trying to get people to just choose to skip it. There's nothing more than the new oversized bow and arrows for defeating him the rest of the stuff you can build or create with his drops is so blah silly and pointless. Leaving me ask why even spend the long amount of time to engage with this giant? There's no tying him into the park other than his knocked over tank, there's nothing tying him into the story there's nothing really beneficial to him at all to waste resources or time on him. This was not the case in Grounded, there we got to see more of the yard, 2 new bug bosses and way more content that said more than "See that areas over there you passed like a million times over there? Yeah!?, Well now there's a big axx spider over there now if you wanna go check it out. Whats that? what do you get? Pfft nothing much besides just a big bug to fight for a lengthy amount of time." It's like you call them drops because they are nowhere near what can be considered rewards. There not even any achievements for beating him. So plain and empty that is. Looking at what we can see so far there no build to better than Grounded even in the roadmap it falls short. All I can see that we're going to have in the end is the same old Grounded just in a park now i see a couple of new materials but even after discovering them their uses are so limited and "ugggh, really, that's it!?" Where's this "BETTER" and "IMPROVED" you hyped up? Take the buggies for example. Great addition so much potential and the idea that the different buggies will take you to new areas with their unique qualities fantastic but where do we get to take that? chomp some roots and go a few feet for some raw science? Or the orb weaver, web crawl up the side of the snack shack to the top of this A/C unit for a snail, another orb-weaver and 2 gum nodes really I grinded to get to this orb-weaver buggy to just get this? Wheres the discovery and adventure of the JR Indiana Jones' you turned us into in Grounded? Where's the Achievement/Reward we got in Grounded? So let me get this straight right, You guys teamed up with another great studio and have been working on this for three years and this is all you guys got? Really!? C'mon man wheres the game you want to make and we want to play? Really, I'm not bashing you, I love the work you did and do. I love Grounded but right now I'm just like are these body snatchers or impostors? wait their joking right there's gonna be more they said there was gonna be more. I do not expect an answer in words I am a Fan I'm waiting to be blown away like you did the first time so that means you and I both know its more than possible. Like seriously they brought me into Honey I shrunk the kids but said No this ain't that honey I shrunk the kids this is your honey I shrunk the kids on milk molers fully yolked. Thank you for your understanding and consideration. I hope you see in here many way that can help improve and build on for all of us even you to have the Grounded 2 we wanted.

Finally war crimes, rape and murder is chic again! No more ridiculous "human" rights! I mean, russia is getting away with it, so why not america too? (not like they didn't before, ik ik ik).

Just an update, it seems that it is only foundation pieces that can be put down, other pieces and furnishings give the "no building rights" message

Unfortunately some of the abilities which used to work with the Long Pain and which I described do not work like that anymore. I didn't test in depth again which ones now work and which don't, but I guess we can assume now that the Long Pain does behave like any other ranged weapon and will only work with abilities and talents for ranged weapons. Anyway: the build doesn't work as described anymore. The Long Pain are still good weapons though. It's just that it doesn't synergize as well with all the other Monk abilities anymore which is sad.

Ishi started following Can build in AXL's arena
-
I switched back from the public test server this morning so I'm not sure if this was happening there too. I went to put an outpost down near AXL's arena in prep for the fight and was looking to see how close I could place a block. I was surprised to find that I could put a foundation down anywhere in the arena. I'm not sure if this is meant to be allowed or not, I can imagine most building would get destroyed or badly damaged in the fight.

... wtf. ... so it turns out this "misstep" as a fed judge generously described, were purposeful directed by the deputy attorney general, and from the admonition about active body cams, those who carried out the illegitimate directive were aware that what they were doing was wrong. ... am not genuine surprised save for how brazen is the efforts by this administration. the true tragedy is we expect, at best, limited and partisan outrage with the vast majority o' americans shrugging this revelation off with indifference, 'cause they are all bad, right? maga folks will see nothing wrong with the todd blanche intervention or cop behavior save that the ice folks were forced to pretend to follow due process as they arrested the enemies within. a f'ing circle jerk of masked thugs carried out violence they knew to be wrong at the direction o' the deputy attorney general of the US, and am doubtful anybody but pod save america and meidas touch folks is gonna still be talking 'bout this by next wednesday. wtf.

am sorry to say that am thinking you are identifying the perhaps singular aspect o' the embarrassing totalitarian jamboree hosted by trump and hegseth most o' the command officers approved. wanna take bets on the % o' generals and admirals who agree with the notion that accusations o' toxic command from often anonymous sources is a real and genuine problem for today's US military? the fact those generals and admirals feel as if they could only anonymously express their own views on such matters is likely, in their minds, proof o' the problem. the trump portion o' the pep rally were disquieting on multiple levels, and the ridiculous nature o' the event itself no doubt bothered near everybody in the auditorium at quantico, but am thinking is no accident that pete spoke first. yeah, the military brass did not find pete's fafo bit funny and am doubtful most generals is on board with the secdef's new (racist) beard guidelines, but am disappointing confident that a large % (and like the majority) o' the hostage audience was in fact supportive o' the aspect you are calling out in your post. pete's promise to put an end to anonymous accusations o' toxic command were the proverbial fresh meat. those anonymous accusations, particular claims related to misogyny and racism, have been a sore spot for many o' those older men in uniform held hostage for more than an hour in quantico today. getting the collected generals and admirals buy into the idea o' using the US military against americans on american soil were (and thankful still is, ) a tough sell, but trump is always the salesman, even when he is slurring words and garbling sentences. aside, and hopeful more significant... is also a good time to re-read judge wilkinson's blistering condemnation of the trump administration's efforts to send US residents to cecot w/o due process. https://time.com/7278774/judge-harvie-wilkinson-opinion-read-full-text-trump-abrego-garcia/ IF we manage to get through the next +3 years w/o a full embrace o' franco style authoritarianism, am thinking we are gonna owe a great deal to a handful o' so-called conservative judges who not only has held firm to Constitutional norms, but have been willing to speak truth to power at a time when courage has been complete absent from republican Congressman. HA! Good Fun!

Shugarky started following Ice Sickles disappeared from their podium
-
Hey, so I remember I did the Ice Sickle Raid thingie a while ago and died last second. The raid finished, but I still got the recipe. So I thought it was intended to only get the recipe, until I watched multiple different videos about the topic. They weren't there when I got to my backpack though. Apparently you're also meant to unlock the guard dog mutation, which I also don't posses yet. I there a way to still get my Ice Sickles? (I don't have the save state from before I did the fight) Thanks in advance!

problems after the update
MaxMorf posted a topic in Grounded 2: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
After the update, I went to the girl's world, and all my equipment, boss-dropped weapons, and crafted armor were gone, and I couldn't get a buggy. What should I do in this situation and how can I solve it?
