Crossplay crashes PC to Xbox
tam749s replied to GreyLivesMatter's topic in Grounded 2: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
If you need another PC Game Pass player to join your hosted session, I would be willing to help. Message me if this is something you want to do. I am US Central region. -
Yeah...... For reference, I am using Epic preset settings (3440x1440p ultrawide display) but with Render Scale set to 66% and FRL at 120 also. It is still somewhat irksome as I cannot maintain 100fps+ but I am thankful it at least is stable at this time with an... acceptable... balance of visual quality and performance.

Ugh, sorry to hear. Seems like there is still some stability enhancements needed. Whatever the reason, the title (which broadly extends to many recent UE5 titles) is a bit of a lottery when it comes to stability (and performance).

Youtube recommendations, let's beat the algorithm
Bartimaeus replied to Sarex's topic in Way Off-Topic
I came across this lady that plays some of the weirdest, most random old garbage a few weeks back, and I've been slowly going through her YouTube videos. She has this...um, interesting icon for her YouTube/Twitch avatar, which I'd been wondering about ever since I saw it. Today, I discovered what it was from... It's possibly the best character creator of all time (timestamped): This video was from eleven months ago. I admire that she's kept it for so long. -

I have completed the main quest in Fallout 4 after about 120 hours As I mentioned its an overall fun open-world, sandbox Bethesda game and the mod collection I used addressed almost all of the vanilla issues I wasnt happy with the overall faction alignment choices I had to make because you need to choose who you support at the end I ended up supporting the Railroad and Minutemen but I also liked the order and structure ideas that the Institute and BOS believed in for the Commonwealth so I wasnt sure But I couldnt bring myself to kill the Desdemona and the Railroad people because I knew them so well so I sided with them and nuked the Institute I really didnt like killing BOS and Enclave soldiers but I had no choice I will probably play Far Harbour DLC as my last part of my overall FO4 experience before I move on

Playing "those who rule" turn based tactics JRPG(style). I am enjoying it, but it's perma death for your units. So it takes me like 10 tries every level because I can't handle losing a character forever. MAYBE later when I stop liking a character, or have too many, I will allow some to die. The story is pretty basic so far, but im only on the third non training fight. You control some ranger group troops. Everyone is betraying everyone. You're very clearly fighting for the bad guys. I hope it turns out everyone is evil, just like real life. There is no world map or anything, just dialogue sections followed by a fight. There are lots of conversations between the different characters, which is kinda interesting because characters can die so you can definitely miss out on side objectives and stuff. My only real problem with it is that I'm constantly restarting fights due to perma death. Which is fine, but they make you go through the dialogue over and over which gets annoying after the 10th try. There are story choices you can make, but it kinda feels like those choices don't really matter. Example. Very early on you can choose to surrender or to fight. If you choose to fight it just cuts to black and you move on to the next section... I can't imagine choosing to surrender would give you anything different, though I have not tried. I dislike pointless dialogue choices. The only game I use a walkthrough guide with are the persona games. Mostly because there is a "correct answer" that has positive effects, and bad answers are just bad. Often there is no discernable reason for that answer to be correct. Or maybe it's just too cryptic for me to tell.

Napoleonic column tactics? Well I suppose they can lower the crime rate in a one block radius.

I think these crashes are related to RTX 5090 or shader cache because I too have a RTX 5090. My game still crashes at startup on 0.2.0.0 with the latest NVIDIA driver. Im still sad.

Yeah, I dropped RT to medium and gained almost 60 fps. I was kind of hoping to go all out in the game, but I guess it's too much. That being said I don't notice much difference between medium and ultra. What I need to do is move to a new platform, even with the 6950x the system is showing it age. But on the other hand I don't want to spend 2k euros. In other news, I managed to break 2 usb ports on my MB, by snagging the cables. Not once, not two times, by three times. You know what they say, third time's the charm... Good thing I have 10 more.

Pretty good conversation with a lawyer about the acquisition. -
Two things: Control in your use case is much more limited by turning on full ray tracing than PCIE bandwidth, and secondly, well, even though 8 lanes on PCIE 3.0 seems a bit low by today's standards, it only becomes a really huge problem for your GPU when you run out of VRAM. Which on 1440p, with a 16GB model, isn't going to happen with Control. Or most other games at the moment. If any at all. If you had an RTX 5060 (TI) or a RX 9060 XT with 8GB, then, well, the card would probably crap itself, even on PCIE 3.0 x16. Well, maybe not in Control, IIRC it just starts dropping texture quality or entire textures when VRAM gets low, but for games like Veilguard the 1% lows just drop by over 50%.

The All Things Political Topic - SNAFU edition

I did a teacher training with the Marines a couple years ago. It was surprisingly progressive, and the explanation was we need to constantly recruit teenagers, and we can't afford to turn off young people. That doesn't mean it is easy or the bar is low. Far from it, they were really pushing for the kids that want to further their education, because the military will pay for it. Anyways, I haven't seen recruitment numbers recently, but I would think they are going to take a hit. I'm sure they'll just bring back he draft to compensate. That will be popular. -
This made me miss @Krookie

Yeah 30USD monthly. I can understand why people are getting less interested in that service, if you can get few good games on sale for that money (even on physical medium).
