So GoG version is not patched correctly?

It's patched up and ready to go but with only the bugfixes from the unofficial patch and no restored or changed content.

No mind to think. No will to break. No voice to cry suffering.

So GoG version is not patched correctly?

It's not a matter of being patched incorrectly; it's just that 90% of bugfixing and content tweaking has been done by the community, and thus are not part of any official streamlined patch.

There's also the fact that the Unofficial patch has some optional component that aren't strictly fixes, and the VtMB mod community is very vocal about any arbitrary changes to the game.

TL;DR: grab the Unofficial patch and pick whatever seems to suit you best during installation.

EDIT: I stand corrected. As majestic pointed out below, the GOG version apparently already has the community fixes applied.

^ The GOG version comes with the unofficial fixes applied. You can read about that in the Bloodlines forum. You only need to download and apply anything if you want more than fixes e.g. the optional components.

edit:

It's fairly easy to check, install the game, it'll tell you that the version is Unofficial Patch 9.7 - not sure, could be that there's a newer unofficial patch out at the moment, but my installation came with 9.7 :)

what is that restored content we talk about? Is it that unofficial patch or something else?

I'm the enemy, 'cause I like to think, I like to read. I'm into freedom of speech, and freedom of choice. I'm the kinda guy that likes to sit in a greasy spoon and wonder, "Gee, should I have the T-bone steak or the jumbo rack of barbecue ribs with the side-order of gravy fries?" I want high cholesterol! I wanna eat bacon, and butter, and buckets of cheese, okay?! I wanna smoke a Cuban cigar the size of Cincinnati in the non-smoking section! I wanna run naked through the street, with green Jell-O all over my body, reading Playboy magazine. Why? Because I suddenly may feel the need to, okay, pal? I've SEEN the future. Do you know what it is? It's a 47-year-old virgin sitting around in his beige pajamas, drinking a banana-broccoli shake, singing "I'm an Oscar Meyer Wiene"

Yeah, that's it. And apparently even a newer version than the one that comes with the default GOG installation.

The optional content is in the "Plus" patch portion.

I never tried the restored content so I have no idea what it really does. :)

Last time I played it added some weapons, altered/ restored dialogues and some quests to parse better and restore cut content, and added a library (?) location that was cut. The plus version is WESP and team's vision of what was intended to be released by Troika, the bug fix only version is the version that was released, with bug fixes.

EDIT: I stand corrected. As majestic pointed out below, the GOG version apparently already has the community fixes applied.

Yeah, the GOG version is fine and works fine with widescreen and bugfixes etc- you may have been thinking of the steam version which is 'broken' by default. Unless they've fixed it recently, and being a steam/ activision double up I find that... unlikely.

Booted my PS3 version of Dark Souls after 5 or so years, just for the lulz. I am so rusty after such a break. Had to play about half hour to get back the feel for the game and then went for Capra Demon. I have actually never killed it before.

In first 5 attempts I was still struggling with controls, and I have found, that I am rolling to slow, so he and dogs just destroyed me after a while.

I have decided to farm fe hollows to get 1 more Endurance, which was enough for me to be able to roll at full speed, without chest armor, and went against him again. Three more attempts, and he was finally down!

So that FFXV reskin tool. Even those with fair knowledge/skill of direct modding and 3D software use (not me) are frustrated and oft stymied by the thing.

--it's simple on its own but...

--it doesn't let you extract/access any models/files directly. Still need to use all those 3rd party tools. This is just how you can upload to Workshop with a nice in-game mod manager screen etc.

--when you go to build/compile a mod after adding your .fbx file to the base mod structure they've set up (model, weapon, armor, who's going to wear/use it), more often than not it fails. It only really likes the sample files they gave us, which were few. Oh and apparently the expensive monthly sub program Maya? Of course.

--for some reason the build/compile process is done not on your computer but some server "out there" - so there's an upload and redownload stage and anyone with a terrible 'net connection is going to be out of luck if their project is of any size. Plus even just that alone can fail from a random server disconnect.

A very few people have made some decent looking swords this first day. Others have made joke mods because they're frustrated or amused.

Maybe they plan to update/improve it over time. Jeez. It's pretty bad.  I hope their Level Editor shows a little more ... usability.

Finished Golem City, sort of, in DX:MD.   Not quite oppression porn but it was a decent setting.

And Gaping Dragon down in Dark Souls PS3! Much Much easier than Capra Demon. Died only once, because I jumped to late :)

But now I am in Blighttown... I hate that part of the game already :( also the frame rate is really the suck...

So, turns out launching the escape pod in Prey with two people in it without disengaging outer hatch has two results:

a) You can check out what does Talos I's escape pod launch mechanism looks like as you can now enter the hole said pod ripped open

b) You can catch up to the pod lifelessly drifting through space and loot the two people you just killed

Success!

Started Elex. After Gothic I knew what I was getting myself into. I'm enjoying it so far, the only problem is that I absolutely don't like the starter area and I'm actually thinking of skipping it. It's a long ass track across the map but meh, better that than being yelled at every time I open the inventory. ;)

Kind of stalled in my playthrough of Beyond Two Souls.  I'm not really digging the overall story.  I'll get around to finishing it at some point because I hate leaving games unfinished, but I'm in no rush.

Might pick up Vampyr.

I've never finished Beyond Two Souls. It couldn't hook me up at all and I really didn't liked this timetable stuff. To me it felt like the game wasn't connected and I just played random bits of.. something.

I finished Beyond: Two Souls a while ago and I gotta admit, I had to force myself to finish it. The story wasn't anything like Heavy Rain. It simply left me disappointed. Heavy Rain was pretty awesome though.

There used to be a signature here, a really cool one...and now it's gone.

Oh and I thought Ellen Page was waaay too teenage angsty.

Reminds me of when they sued the Last of Us people, because that Ellie character apparently looked too similar to Ellen Page. Ellie was much more bearable, though.

I think Heavy Rain will remain my one and only favorite game from that David Cage dude. The other games have way too much mumbo jumbo in them.
