Yaaaaaaay!

(April 3rd is perfect for me since I wanted to do one last perfect run of PoE 1, and I have a few other games to wrap up before I get to it.)

Posted (edited)

The new string is "SHbEXB" by the way.

So in order is BtF6nW w6Pd2u SHbEXB, six characters each.

I just tried to translate it into hexidecimals which gave 20 42 74 46 36 6e 57 20 77 36 50 64 32 75 20 53 48 62 45 58 42 and then I made it into unicode where it made no sense at all. :D Oh well, gotta try some more. ^_^

edit: Just saw in the other topics, that it's not that convoluted. Oh well. ^_^

Looks like the end of a web address, like for example: bit.ly/w6Pd2u

I had the same guess but couldn't get any links to work but I only tried goo.gl and bit.ly. Also thought it might be to imgur or something since they have similar codes

BtF6nW is redeemable on GOG for Trine 3 but I never got the other codes to work

Hmm. Looks like a games authorization key.

24 characters is now in the "too long" range for normal steam/gog keys.

Assuming the upper/lowercase thing is relevant, keep in mind that steam/gog is case insensitive.  Probably need to keep looking for other places to use those strings.

Best plan for now is to sit tight, look for other keys, and wait to see if we can find somewhere to type those codes.

Unless it's genuinely enciphered text, and we should be decrypting it rather than attempting to type it in somewhere.

I tried redeeming it over at Adobe - they have 24 character redemption codes (mixed alphapetical and numeric) that give you a product serial number once for Elements, for instance. It accepted the code, but then said it was invalid. Bummer. :/

Not too long for an old-style CD keycode, which first came to mind when 'authorization key' was mentioned.

Looking at original NWN and Mask of the Betrayer books, CD keys are seven strings of five characters, though all capital.

What this could mean for a game in 2018, I have no idea.

All Stop. On Screen.

Hey! What is the discord for Deadfire ? I want in!

https://discordapp.com/invite/obsidian ^^

I thought that was exclusive to Obsidian Twitch subs? Or am I wrong?

When Frog Man asked what their Discord was, I set out to find the answer, and within a few minutes I was on it. I assure you I didn't stop along the way to subscribe to anything. Currently there's like seven people online who are subscribers, and 85 who aren't, not counting Obsidian employees. Now let's call this settled and get back to interpreting weird strings.

Hmm. I tried plugging them in to all the URL shortener sites I could find but most didn't work and others were just really random sites. I didn't find any code redemption area on the Obsidian portal or THQ Nordic. The Versus Evil site didn't load for me so I didn't try there. I don't think Paradox has a code redemption page either but I looked anyway. I know they aren't involved with Deadfire but I just wanted to be thorough.
