A food truck in Portland:

Quote
“Political philosophers have often pointed out that in wartime, the citizen, the male citizen at least, loses one of his most basic rights, his right to life; and this has been true ever since the French Revolution and the invention of conscription, now an almost universally accepted principle. But these same philosophers have rarely noted that the citizen in question simultaneously loses another right, one just as basic and perhaps even more vital for his conception of himself as a civilized human being: the right not to kill.”

-Jonathan Littell <<Les Bienveillantes>>
Quote

"The chancellor, the late chancellor, was only partly correct. He was obsolete. But so is the State, the entity he worshipped. Any state, entity, or ideology becomes obsolete when it stockpiles the wrong weapons: when it captures territories, but not minds; when it enslaves millions, but convinces nobody. When it is naked, yet puts on armor and calls it faith, while in the Eyes of God it has no faith at all. Any state, any entity, any ideology that fails to recognize the worth, the dignity, the rights of Man...that state is obsolete."

Not like anyone takes any of those allegations serious anyway. Just look at them.

BruceVC, it's more along the lines of "great timing". Yes it could very well be true that he did in fact sexually assault these women, but because of their timing right now instead of earlier, it also seems like another "set up" like how they instigated fights at his rally's and started making everyone including urself that the supporters were very violent. Also this is America, when something is slipped we EXPECT someone to come forward to take advantage of the situation for money.

It's sad but that's something we have to accept when we give the victims the right to accuse and get justice without retaliation, we have to accept that sometimes scumbags will take advantage of the system that protects the victims for an out of court pay off.

This is why my biggest outrage with this election is the media corruption and why I'm quicker to condemn Clinton than Trump. Screwing with the media extends BEYOND the election cycle and ruins any sense of trust there was. It creates doubt and discourages people from trusting any news or even bothering with watching. Had I been that woman...? I would've purposefully saved my accusations til after the election if I wished to be taken seriously, for that exact reason. It has nothing to do with people doubting Trump is capable of such a thing and everything to do with people doubting the media even more. Now it's just sex scandal #7 that they doubt, but in the future it could be much more serious topics that are disputed.

Guys I absolutely believe these types of accusations, there is real precedent and Trump has offended women on numerous occasions

Because of the actual comments Trump has made  I have taken a certain stance when any women accuses Trump  "guilty until proven innocent "  :geek:

And at the same time you refuse to accept anything negative about Hillary Clinton as being true despite the fact there is a long history and tons of evidence that is not just "he said she said"

Sorry Bruce, credibility = 0

Wouldn't that also be suppression of her voters as well?

Theoretically yes, especially since a lot of Hillary supporters are in the 'just hate Trump more' camp and aren't really keen on voting for Hillary. I'm not sure how aware Hillary strategists are that their support is soft though, they do seem to genuinely believe Hillary has run a tremendous campaign.

The strategy if Hillary's support doesn't materialise will probably be to blame Russia. No doubt contesting an election will be fine if Hillary does it because of 'outside interference', it's just bad if Trump does it.

The hilarious thing about the whole Russia nonsense.. wasn't Obama who   attacked his opponent in the last election (or was that 2008?) by accusing him of trying to 'restart the Cold War' by vilifying Russia. LMAO Not Hilalry, OPbama, and others on the Demo side are the ones trying to start it up. L0LZ

That's something I surprisingly haven't seen discussed much.

Let's put aside corruption for a moment and look at polls at face value. Clinton is winning. But the last I heard in regards to voter morale, Trump voters were demolishing Clinton voters in terms of motivation to vote. I think a lot of them are openly annoyed by the accusations of being stupid for voting for Trump and being antagonized by the media, thus their motivation to vote spikes. Hillary supporters...? Pretty much her most loyal supporters are those that would ALWAYS vote regardless of circumstances. She doesn't really inspire loyalty.

It'll be interesting to see the results though, since there's sooooo many factors in play, from potential election fraud to media corruption and propaganda to a Republican candidate that has broken traditional Christian home values (strong republican voting base) to a Democratic one that struggles to fill high school gyms and has infamously low media interaction that isn't scripted, whereas Trump gets free media and constant coverage like crazy even if the majority is bad.

Pretty sure Clinton's team is aware of that, every armchair political strategist has mentioned that by now. What they say publicly isn't that meaningful, no one cries down their team (sadly).

Doubt she'll engage in that scenario you're imagining, as is hard to work. Just legions of meshbacks if anything.

Republicans crying about voter suppression is pretty funny, sure is an odd election.
