Fallout 2 with the restoration mod. I don't remember there being a residential area in the Den. Must be the mod added that.

There was a way to get there in the vanilla version that i've totally forgotten, but it was empty and rather crashy as I remember?

Quite an experience to live in misery isn't it? That's what it is to be married with children.

I've seen things you people can't even imagine. Pearly Kings glittering on the Elephant and Castle, Morris Men dancing 'til the last light of midsummer. I watched Druid fires burning in the ruins of Stonehenge, and Yorkshiremen gurning for prizes. All these things will be lost in time, like alopecia on a skinhead. Time for tiffin.

Finally came around to picking up the "Enemy Within" expansion pack for XCOM. After re-installing the game I downloaded a few mods from the Nexus and Jesus Christ, trying to get my head around the mod installation process is giving me an aneurysm.

I think I'll stick to planning the air strikes of Operation Desert Storm for now, thank you very much.

“Political philosophers have often pointed out that in wartime, the citizen, the male citizen at least, loses one of his most basic rights, his right to life; and this has been true ever since the French Revolution and the invention of conscription, now an almost universally accepted principle. But these same philosophers have rarely noted that the citizen in question simultaneously loses another right, one just as basic and perhaps even more vital for his conception of himself as a civilized human being: the right not to kill.”

"The chancellor, the late chancellor, was only partly correct. He was obsolete. But so is the State, the entity he worshipped. Any state, entity, or ideology becomes obsolete when it stockpiles the wrong weapons: when it captures territories, but not minds; when it enslaves millions, but convinces nobody. When it is naked, yet puts on armor and calls it faith, while in the Eyes of God it has no faith at all. Any state, any entity, any ideology that fails to recognize the worth, the dignity, the rights of Man...that state is obsolete."

You don't really need too many mods. Enemy Within was a huge improvement over the vanilla game and made it quite enjoyable. From there on I felt that installing Long War was pretty much all that was left to do and that installs pretty easily.

I'm playing a few games of Strife here and there.  I've never been much of a MOBA player but decided to give the genre a try again, just to see if I find something that fits.  Strife is the closest game to being a fit for me.  DOTA 2 I enjoy watching, it's pretty much the only eSport I like watching (don't care for watching any shooter or fighting game, Starcraft is... okay, I guess), because it's so complicated, nuanced, and heavily strategy and skill dependent, but I can't play that game, it's way beyond my capabilities.  HotS is too far in the other direction, for my tastes, it's too simplified.  I like that HotS is very objective based, which is cool, but I'm not a fan of group shared leveling, since it takes a lot of strategy and out of the equation (supports sacrificing their own experience and gold so that cores can be stronger), and the lack of items severely limits the different builds you can make for each character.  Strife exists in the Goldilocks Zone for my tastes and capabilities.  It's fast paced, easy to get into, and still has items that you can use to differentiate your builds, but not nearly with the level of complex interactions that DOTA 2 has.  I still suck at the game, but not as utterly hopelessly as I do at DOTA 2, and, more importantly, I still have fun while sucking in that game, whereas in DOTA 2 I crumble under the pressure of letting my team down (it doesn't help that the DOTA 2 community is so aggressive).

Just released a mod for Distant World Universe, so I'm playing that and testing it out.. It's a little unbalanced, but it's a very easy and fun platform to mod (mostly txt based).

I'm currently playing Etrian Mystery Dungeon.  So far its interesting; not quite what I thought it might be, but having not played the Mystery Dungeon series I wasn't entirely sure what to expect.

Playing Technobabylon. I really like it. Standard Wadjet Eye (beautiful hand drawn) low graphics point and click adventure game. Music is FANTASTIC. I need to buy the CD on Bandcamp. Really like the setting, and the story is interesting as well.

Looks great but the fullscreen mouse motion is pretty horrid.

I'm not having any mouse problems in full screen, runs just fine and smooth for me.

Finally finished the main story for the Witcher 3.  Definitely one of my favorite games in recent memory.  I need to replay it and make different choices before I can comment on how much those choices actually seem to affect the game.  At a guess, it won't be near as much as TW2, when it was almost like two different games depending if you side with Iorveth or Roche.

Just had my best game of Strife so far.  I finished with 7 kills 3 assists and 6 deaths.  Those aren't stellar stats, but they're not bad either.  Of course, stats don't tell the whole story, but I can confidently say I played well didn't play like complete dog****, which is an achievement for me.  It was in a losing effort mind you, but that's the nature of a team game, any 1 character can play well and still lose and vice versa, plus when a teammate goes AFK and you go 4 on 5, there's only so much you can do.  Still, I'm starting to get the hang of the game.  I have 3 characters I'm comfortable with: Malady- a ranged AoE crowd control character, Vermillion - a ranged physical damage dealer, and Nikolai - a tanky melee bruiser.  I'm starting to be able to play Nikolai pretty well, though I still need to work on my timing with last hits to farm more efficiently.

Looking at Galactic Civ 3. I've never found a sci-fi 4X game I like as much as MOO2.

Gal Civ 2 was ok. I liked the ship design part. I couldn't really get into it though. Horizions was a disappointment. It came close to being good but the clunky menu, haphazard tech tree, poor ai & diplomacy hurt.

MOO2 was like your first real girlfriend. You'll have others but none you'll remember so fondly.

Just playing more Strife.  I did a couple of matches as Vermillion, won one lost the other.  I actually had a blast in the game my team lost, it was a really tense match.  It was a close match but we were losing and 2 out of our 3 generators were down, but we managed to wipe the opposing team as they took the second generator down.  We all pushed out the lanes a bit then went for a YOLO push down the middle and came really close to destroying the enemy base, but ultimately we got wiped and the other team finished us off.  It was a super fun game that went really long.  I was 6-slotted at the end with ridiculous attack speed.  The lifesteal/attack speed build works really well for Vermillion, I like it a lot.  When you get him 6-slotted with that build he's like a machinegun.  I still mostly suck at the game, but at least I don't completely suck any more.  It takes many many hours to get even halfway decent at a MOBA.

Realistically when should you be playing the JoH dlc? Wait till after the story? Is it level based?

This is my first time through, so I'm not entirely sure.  I've read that it's best not to be attempted before you're around level 22 or so.  Also sounded like it doesn't really affect the main story, so it can be done post-game.  But the only problem there is you won't get to use all the new gear and stuff in the main game.

  I just started that very thing. The FO4 trailer inspired me to play them all again. I just started a new FO1 game for the first time in 6-7 years last night!

I've been playing FO:NV pretty regularly, but I hadn't gone back to FO3 since it came out.  It will be nice to play through the DLC.  Also this is definitely my favorite Bethesda game ever, I don't get why I enjoy exploring the wastes so much more than ancient ruins.
