rcarrington Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 The first time I entered the Hall of Revealed Mysteries I snuck into the locked room and stole the Theorems of Pangram without being noticed. I also got a quest to track down a scroll of Wael. Later on I discovered that there is a quest to get Theorems of Pangram but I held onto it as the animancers are all completely mad as far as I can tell. Anyway I tracked down the scroll of Wael and decided to put it where the mysterious voice asked me to. When I made my way back to Hall of Revealed Mysteries, as soon as I enter everyone is hostile with no explanation. I'm not sure if it's related to the Theorems of Pangram or not but if so why didn't they go hostile when I first stole it. Even if I don't have it on me, everyone still goes hostile immediately. If I kill everyone I fail the scroll of Wael quest and lose loads of reputation. It seems like a bug to me, or at least if I have done something to upset people there should at the very least be some explanation. 3
Gobblecoque Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 I have also encountered this issue. Unfortunately, I happened to steal the Theorems long before I tried to retrieve the scroll of Wael, so loading an older save and doing the quests in reverse order isn't really feasable. 1
Distraction Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 Just ran into the problem. Can't reload an old save because I've played about 5+ hours between then. Hopefully I can skip this for now and a fix will roll out soon.
Edvin Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 (edited) Same problem Edited March 29, 2015 by Edvin
Detrimental2 Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 I also stole the Theorems of Pangram without being detected and no one was aggressive towards me until I left and came back. I even talked to people right after I stole it and all was well. Now the entire Hall of Revealed Mysteries wants to kill me and I can't do the "Parable of Weal" task. 1 "Hello there foodthing. Axeman Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 I've also got this problem. The priests werent hostile when I stole the book and i could talk to them. But when I went back in they were hostile. I have a save from right after I stole the book and when I load that save they are hostile right away so its definitly something that makes them not react to the theft right away.
Severai Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 (edited) I've got exactly the same problem - and my last non-automatic save puts me back about 10 hours ... extremely frustrating. Edited March 29, 2015 by Severai
Vizjerie Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 yep me too.. this is such a bummer i was just about to make a new thread about it this HAS to be a bug, i cant imagine they make something so easily stealable, then not give it immediate reaction and just have everyone else kill you after. other wise its just bad design cause theres literally no way of knowing. good thing it isnt a main quest, though i read else where that you were suppose to get a key as a reward and that key is part of an other quest or task? im not sure.. sigh.
eden.sb Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 Same here, not detected while finding the scroll in the archive, talked to the dwarf again afterward, no worry.Followed on the God instruction and did not get back with the scroll, still, it sound like something is wrong.(Bringing back news that it is their god who set the "theft" in place as to have at last some move over his artifact (surprise, how boring would it be to be a god with only contact with High Priest, always on the very same base ? Sic.)If anything, same worry as to last save, as there is only a lone auto save slot (two or three would have make the issue quite easier to get with.Waiting for an explanation or a patch, maybe a console command as to make them at peace again ?(Since there is a console, it could be possible, at last it is over Skyrim).
Detrimental2 Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 (edited) I found a work around. If you put your party into sneak mode before you enter The Hall of Revealed Mysteries then no one will be hostile towards you. You will have to do this every time. For some reason if they can see you when you enter they are flagged as hostile towards you. I hope this works for the rest of you as well, tell me if it does so we'll know if it works for everyone and not just me. Edited March 29, 2015 by Detrimental2 5 "Hello there foodthing. Detrimental2 Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 (edited) Worked for me, thanks a lot! Grimda was not very happy tough Was Grimda still hostile? She shouldn't be since they are all tied together but if Grimda was still hostile then enter the console commands below after you enter the Hall of Revealed Mysteries but before Grimda sees and attacks you. Warning! Using console commands will turn off achievements in Steam for this game. Hit the ` key and then hit enter. IRoll20s - This will turn on console commands. SetIsHostile NPC_Grimda False - This will make Grimda no longer hostile. Edited March 29, 2015 by Detrimental2 1 "Hello there foodthing. You are just in time. omegabet Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 Wow, I was just going to report this as a bug. The workaround worked perfectly no need to use cheats. reclinemusic Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 Just wanted to say thanks for the info and letting me complete the quest
jai2yeux Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 Same bug here, just unlocked the door but didn't even steal the damn thing. When I get in, everyone's hostile.
jaevans36 Posted April 5, 2015 Posted April 5, 2015 Same issue here, but unfortunately entering whilst stealthed hasn't work for me :¬/ all the mobs as I get in are still hostile. I also didn't even steal anything, just opened the door.
