What are you playing now?

Recommended Posts

I like going through the game slowly, but then I'm a slow gamer in general.  I spend most of the time in the game in scout mode slowly creeping around the maps inch by inch, and that suits me just fine.  I'm in no hurry to get to the end.

Pillars of Eternity.

This game plays very well, it really pays of to use different strategies. Big foes suddenly collapse like ants with the right strategy. I love my Orlan Cipher. I take control of a weaker foe, it starts attacking the bigger foe and by the time the big threat is over I simply finish up things by killing the smaller foe. I also like the different choices you can make around every corner and the fact that the result is not always what you think it is. Very engaging stuff! I am in love, of that I am sure!

There used to be a signature here, a really cool one...and now it's gone.

Starting up Dreamfall book 2. Seems like the same old stuff, I did like Shepherd, leader of the resistance.

Well, glad they delivered on that promise. Getting hit over the head with THE REBELS WILL REMEMBER THIS was a hint.

I sauntered into New Reno today, and can't help but notice one aspect of the game that seems to be omnipresent, the devs really do take the rise out of each other. Whether it's the usual Feargus jokes, T Ray stealing ones car, Mr Kesting and his oral skills with ladies of the night, all those ladies swooning over Mr Avellone or whatever, nice to see the devs having a healthy sense of self ridicule. Of course if released now it would be termed massively "problematic," but it's not fashionable or currently popular so nobody will pay a blind bit of notice thankfully.

The names for the Porn films are hilarious, my favourite has to be "****-*-***-***." Charming tale of a young tribal lady.

Quite an experience to live in misery isn't it? That's what it is to be married with children.

I've seen things you people can't even imagine. Pearly Kings glittering on the Elephant and Castle, Morris Men dancing 'til the last light of midsummer. I watched Druid fires burning in the ruins of Stonehenge, and Yorkshiremen gurning for prizes. All these things will be lost in time, like alopecia on a skinhead. Time for tiffin.

Tea for the teapot!

I remember when back in the days everyone was hating on New Reno, because it felt so out of place. Me personally, I stopped caring about it by now and I blame Fallout 3 for that... it was showing me how much worse it still can get.

^Life is overrated.  I have PoE.

:)

Just kidding.  Am playing PoE, though.  Finally settled on a character/class combo and heading into the game "for reals" this time.

So...I feel guilty, I started playing the fantasy RPG Inquisitor  http://store.steampowered.com/app/241620/   ( Not DA:I  from Bioware )

And after 25 hours I have lost interest....I feel like I am giving up but the game is becoming laborious. Is it wrong to play a game for so long and then quit?

No, it isn't wrong.  Why would you keep playing if it isn't fun anymore?  It'd be equivalent to getting to page 600 of a 2000 page epic and going "You know, I've not enjoyed the last 400 pages...but I'm too far in to quit now!".

It's just silly.

Of course, but I rarely get to use that quote. I do try to finish something I start, even if it is rather boring or awful (though in the latter, the anger at its awfulness fuels the continuation).

Anyway, finished off the Kian part of DFC Book 2, I think. Hopefully I can kill Enu.

Still on Borderlands 2, criminey there's a lot of content here. Finished the campaign, moved onto TVHM and the pirate DLC.

This game is giving me a backlog. Still have to play Game of Thrones: Episode 3, Life is Strange: Episode 2, Borderlands the Pre-Sequel, and just got Bloodborne in the mail.

A game made by CINEMAX? April Fools again?

Will be a lot of romance. And a rather catchy soundtrack

I'm playing Baldur's Gate 1 no, screw that, why the hell would I play that? Seriously! My playthrough will remain unfinished until I've had my fill of PoE

So yeah, I'm playing Pillars of Eternity like most people here. I've been able to avoid most of the serious bugs and the gameplay is so god damn smooth I can't believe it. Sometimes the pathfinding gets a little weird during battles against huge groups in smaller areas, but it is way better than in Infinity Engine games and the game just feels amazing.

I really like the pike/quarterstaff weapons because they allow me to use caster hybrids as decent physical damage dealers while standing *right* behind my tanks and also cast spells quickly in combat. Bows/implements are weak, crossbows are deadlier but their recovery and reload speed hurts your characters' responsiveness, and while firearms deal amazing damage, your caster is stuck doing nothing for several seconds.

So my priest and chanter companions have been rocking quarterstaves for a while because they can handle being in "2nd row" of my formation

25 hours is a long time? I have a few thousand hours in the BG games, another few in Diablo 2, 1.5k in Team Fortress 2...I don't feel bad for not playing those constantly anymore. :p

How I have existed fills me with horror. For I have failed in everything - spelling, arithmetic, riding, tennis, golf; dancing, singing, acting; wife, mistress, whore, friend. Even cooking. And I do not excuse myself with the usual escape of 'not trying'. I tried with all my heart.

In my dreams, I am not crippled. In my dreams, I dance.

Almost finished DFC Book 2, Propast was a pain with the roadblocks. Best line of the book was "I'm as hard as Nirgali steel..." just for how random that was and paired with the dead expressions of the characters.

Damn me and my completionist side.  I'm struggling through Infamous Second Son to finish it a second time just to unlock the achievements for doing so.

It's a fun game and a fine story, but not enough to want to play it through a second time!

Started a 3rd baseman in MLB The Show '15.  As if the game were not already one of the best RPG systems out there, it now comes with the ability to get gear that boosts your stats.  I'm making waves in AA right now for the Mobile BayBears.  What an odd team name.
