Cantousent Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 Two folks with one excellent idea. I merged threads to make one homage to STEAM sales. Rostere Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 Cool, they seem to have fixed the duplicate top sellers entries now I'd like to think that was because I contacted Steam Support about it PoE at #3 and still going strong, yay! "Well, overkill is my middle name. And my last name. And all of my other names as well!"
ManifestedISO Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 (edited) Pre-purchased a Hero Edition. Now I can complain from both sides of the fence. Also ... Giant Miniature Space Piglet!! Edited March 24, 2015 by ManifestedISO All Stop. On Screen.
kozzy Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 Woot Woot! Go Obsidian go! Is it thursday yet?? I can't wait man.
wolfrider100 Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 (edited) Pre-ordered the Hero Edition on GOG so that's one sale from me. Also really want that giant miniature space piglet, going to name him Boo. "Boo must have his exercise, lest he bite us all in hard to reach places." Kimaka Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 This better sell a billion otherwise PC gaming is dead. 1
Bryy Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 This better sell a billion otherwise PC gaming is dead. Let's tone down the Hero Worship just a bit.
Kimaka Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 Let's tone down the Hero Worship just a bit. I don't know, seems like a reasonable expectation to me. But seriously, I'm happy that it is doing so well before release and hope that it will have long legs like D:OS.
Emerwyn Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 (edited) I'm pretty sure PoE will have as long legs as D:OS, if not longer. And in the last year alone there is, just to mention a few notable cases: Heroes of Might and Magic X, Shadowrun Dragonfall, The Banner Saga, Wasteland 2, Blackguards 2... right now in development is Shadowrun: Hong Kong, as well as some form of D:OS 2, The Banner Saga 2, Torment:ToN and so much more. It's a good time for PC RPG gaming. Edited March 24, 2015 by Emerwyn
MrTibbs Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 Happy to see its doing so well! Here's hoping that Pillars of Eternity is a massive success for Obsidian. They certainly deserve it. 7
barakav Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 (edited) They should just make sure that this release will be as stable as possible so they won't get a lot of negative user reviews right at release. As long as it is ,it will sell well just for the Baldurs gates' nostalgia factor alone. The quality of this game might influence sells for best or for worst after a week or two considering that right now it seems like the professional reviews are going to be relatively good and it will take a while for non backers user reviews to kick in in metacritic considering the length of this game (and I am pretty sure many backers will give it a 9/10 on its' first day just to try and help this genre). This better sell a billion otherwise PC gaming is dead. Let's tone down the Hero Worship just a bit. It does actually sound reasonable , after all there are around one billion Internet users world wide... I agree that everyone should play it! BrainMuncher Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 This better sell a billion otherwise PC gaming is dead. You must have missed the memo that PC gaming has been dead for years. Actually if you beleive the hype, PCs in general are dead, tablets are the future! Oh and nobody wants an isometric RPG, lol. 3D or bust. 2

Isometric viewpoints are viable, though, on touch-based tablet interfaces for casual games.
kozzy Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 (edited) Nice to see Cities Skylines and Pillars in the top 3 atm in sales. Paradox is probably glad to have scooped up Skylines and Pillars. Edited March 24, 2015 by kozzy
Katarack21 Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 Paradox was smart to get on board with this. They'll make tons of bank. 1
PromisedPain Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 (edited) TOP 3 now. I wasn't expecting the sales to be this good, considering the genre. Edited March 24, 2015 by PromisedPain

Hiro Protagonist II Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 Not good enough. Needs to be 1, 2, and 3.
Sky_walker Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 (edited) I wasn't expecting the sales to be this good, considering the genre. What? RPG next to FPS is the most popular genre right now. Well on GoG, the Hero Edition is top-seller, Champion Edition is 3rd and Royal Edition is 4th. That's what I call ****ing Success!!! Yea, but sadly total GOG sales are tiny comparing to Steam sales. Wish more ppl would get to GOG and instead of seeing topics like "Pillars of Eternity has now entered the top sellers chart on Steam!" we would see "Pillars of Eternity has now entered the top sellers chart on GOG!", and this would bring excitement to the community, as GOG really is the place to go with all the goodies they give, unobstructive installers and DRM-free games not requiring any other applications to install or run.
