SadExchange Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 Destiny. It's what i needed right now. I might not be the best game ever, but it will do to pass lost of time. Same here.
Bokishi Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 Destiny and I'm having a blast, stayed up til 4am and got to level 5 Current 3DMark
Tale Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 I think I've settled on a party composition for IWD. Throwing a bunch of eccentric characters I've played over the years into one party. First up are my converted 4e characters. The brother-sister Paladin-Warlock Sorcerer Mage team. They're Tieflings Drow a human and a half-elf, because blasted elves can't be Paladins. The Kobold Gnome Warlord Fighter. The only time in my history of RPGs I've used spears. The party thief originated in Neverwinter Nights as my booksmart rogue. Originally built like a mage by focusing on skill points and UMD, now he's just a pretty standard thief with some pointless stats. Filling the last two spots are a token cleric and a mage/fighter. I need a healer and a mage with two-hander swords sounds more interesting than a ranger or Barbarian. 1 "Show me a man who "plays fair" and I'll show you a very talented cheater."
Azure79 Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 Tomb Raider on my recently built gaming PC. It's been very fun so far.
Hurlshort Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 I bought Destiny, and it's fantastic. Bungie really managed to pull off a great MMO shooter. It's a beautiful and engaging world, and my character with his big hand blaster and sniper rifle is super fun to play. I am not sure that they have the depth of an MMORPG, as I've only played to level 5, but it's a very good start. 1
Keyrock Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Playing Pirate Creed some more. I think my ship is now powerful enough to take on a man o' war. I can take out frigates without much trouble, as long as they don't have a bunch of backup, so I should be able to take a man o' war without much problem as long as I can find one alone with no backup. I've probably had a ship tough enough to do it for a while, the trick is finding a man o' war without several brigs and gunboats near it. mute688 Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 (edited) You can usually find a battle between Spanish and English man o' wars in the southern sections. If you sail around the edges of the battle until someone wins, any escorts are usually in very bad shape. It makes clearing them out much easier. If you don't want to wait, join the battle on the losing side. Once you take down the winning side, then turn on the remaining ships. You can often get 4 or 5 ships to add to your fleet that way. Lexx Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Finally played through South Park - The Stick of Truth. Graphic, animation and sound are 10/10, exactly like the tv show. Storywise I dunno... I think it's ok. The combat on the other hand really isn't my cup of tea. It took me a long time to really getting into it and I can't say that it's really fun to me. Probably won't replay the game for a long time because of the combat alone. Maybe if there is some DLC coming or whatever, so I get more / new story, but else... not really. HoonDing Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 In AssCreed 3 'hardest' ship battle is against two manowars. Not hard, just tedious. The ending of the words is ALMSIVI.
Bartimaeus Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 (edited) Papers, Please! Day 21: "You are under arrest for attacking an Arstotzkan official." "The penalty is death." "Your family will be questioned about their involvement." "The border will remain open under a replacement inspector." "Glory to Arstotzka." Yeah, well, maybe if my "Tranquilizer" gun wasn't a freaking missile launcher that blew up both the guards and the TERRORIST I was aiming at that was murdering those very same guards, I would still be alive. Why the heck is it my duty to deal with armed terrorists when we have armed guards, anyways? Edited September 10, 2014 by Bartimaeus Quote How I have existed fills me with horror. For I have failed in everything - spelling, arithmetic, riding, tennis, golf; dancing, singing, acting; wife, mistress, whore, friend. Even cooking. And I do not excuse myself with the usual escape of 'not trying'. I tried with all my heart. In my dreams, I am not crippled. In my dreams, I dance.
Guest Slinky Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Yeah, well, maybe if my "Tranquilizer" gun wasn't a freaking missile launcher that blew up both the guards and the TERRORIST I was aiming at that was murdering those very same guards, I would still be alive. Tale Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Why the heck is it my duty to deal with armed terrorists when we have armed guards, anyways? It is every citizen's responsibilty to protect glorious Arstotzka from terrorism. To deny this is treason. 2 "Show me a man who "plays fair" and I'll show you a very talented cheater."
Woldan Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Played some oldschool Wolfenstein : Enemy territory. The results after 45 minutes of hard fighting, I'm the highlighted player. Almost got a K/D ratio of 2:1 with the MG42. I gazed at the dead, and for one dark moment I saw a banquet.
TheChris92 Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Valkyria Chronicles, a bit of New Vegas too -- First one is an excellent SJRPG, very fun and strategic-requiring gameplay. I can dig it along with the well fleshed out characters and story to boot. It's one of the many underrated gems I've missed out on and currently picking up to play from previous gens.
GhostofAnakin Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 PS4 or XBox One? I'm in the market for a new system, but I'm not sure which one I want. I've been an Xbox guy lately, but there's just something about the PS4 and its exclusives that I'm starting to lean toward. Hurlshort Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 PS4 is $100 cheaper, and it is fantastic, so I went with that.
SadExchange Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 PS4 is $100 cheaper, and it is fantastic, so I went with that. I would agree.
GhostofAnakin Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 PS4 is $100 cheaper, and it is fantastic, so I went with that. Is it a full $100 cheaper? I've been looking in my area, and both Wal-Mart and Best Buy have the PS4 at only slightly less (around $450 to $470 compared to the XBox One at around $500 for a bundle including a game). ShadySands Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 Amazon has them both for 400 bucks but that's minus Kinect (which didn't used to be an option) on the xbon3 and with no games for either. The hardware is supposed to be more powerful on the PS4 but I guess what matters is if they have any exclusives you really want 1 Free games updated 3/4/21

The hardware is supposed to be more powerful on the PS4 but I guess what matters is if they have any exclusives you really want I think the first "generation" of Xbone's only came out with Kinect which tacked on the 100 extra bucks that Hurl is talking about. But that got pulled when MS realized that maybe having a camera in everyones living room that never turned off was hurting sales. 1 Victor of the 5 year fan fic competition! That and the fact very few actually saw any need for it and MS still forced customers to pay the extra 100$ for that. If I recall correctly MS also tried to make it sound it was integral part of XBone which is needed for just about everything, which of course turned out to be bs.
Labadal Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 When looking at a PS4 vs Xbox One purchase, you should look at what current and future exclusives you are interested in. The PS4 was an easy choice because of the games I have an interest in. I will also only stick to one system this generation, so I feel good about my choice. What interests me on PS4: Persona 5 (Don't think we'll see an XBO version.) New Ys game (Don't think we'll see an XBO version.) Bloodborne inFAMOUS SS inFAMOUS FL LittleBigPlanet 3 Ratchet & Clank Remaster Rime Tearaway Unfolded Disgaea 5 Dragon Quest Warriors What interests me on Xbox One: Scalebound Crackdown 3 Sunset Overdrive 1
Elerond Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 Currently only game that is coming for new consoles but not PC and interest me is Quantum Break (which probably will get PC version in couple years after console version with upgrades, like Alan Wake), but even that is because it's made by Remedy and not by published material about or information from its developer interviews. Although I had similar feeling about Alan Wake and at end it was interesting and good game. So I don't think that I will buy any of new consoles at any time soon, if ever.
Keyrock Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 The countdown to Wasteland 2 is down to 1 week. Will I finish Pirate Creed before it comes out? It will be close. I'm at about 55% completion now with about 50 hours put into the game. I captured a lev 38 frigate last night, which means I should be able to capture a lev 36 man o' war, and at least have a chance against a lev 43 man o' war. The battle with the lev 38 frigate did bring me closer to getting sunk than I would have liked, but that wasn't exactly my finest captaining moment. I made some stupid mistakes, plus I've beefed up my hull the final notch to max level since then. I was disappointed to find out that seemingly the lev 38 frigate is no different (for the purposes of my fleet) than lev 29 frigates I captured previously (while lev 29 frigates are different than lev 23 frigates). Oh well. Now it's just a matter of finding a man o' war far enough away from its buddies that I can make it a 1 on 1 fight as long as it doesn't take me too long. Yeah VC is awesome, but then SEGA just said FU to consoles and only made sequels for handhelds. 1.13 killed off Ja2.
