ShadySands Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 post You've had some interesting professions, nice one What did you enjoy the most overall? The only ones that were "real" jobs are corporate drone and my time in the military and most of the others were just to satisfy the inner child in me. To be a PI in my state really has no requirements, you don't even need a license but I got one anyway just to make it more official. Same with bartender, no license needed but got one anyway. Small business owner did require a license but I never bothered to keep that up and I really was a model when I was young and beautiful and did some extraordinarily plain, no-name magazine work PS Is it weird to like someone more after they are the hero in a fake story? http://ruckusbucket.com/2014/02/11/blake-griffin-smacks-justin-bieber-at-hollywood-starbucks/ 1 Free games updated 3/4/21
Enoch Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Working from home today, for the first time since my home office was displaced by the nursery and moved to the basement. It's cold in here. 1
Malcador Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Battling my fever of 101, boy is sleeping through that fun. Seems to breaking now, so will cross fingers. Malc if I was you I would lie next to your pet moose, that way you are guaranteed to keep warm !!! The hell would I want to keep warm when I have a fever ? Feeling better today, just have a vile cough. I guess I'll have to go into work tomorrow, but maybe I'll just WFH. Why has elegance found so little following? Elegance has the disadvantage that hard work is needed to achieve it and a good education to appreciate it. - Edsger Wybe Dijkstra

Other than that when in the thick of it keep hydrated, eat if possible and rest(use pillows to keep "up", they are not for your comfort per se, but to let gravity do its work for that crap in your respiratory system) Edited February 12, 2014 by Mor 1

Malcador Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Yeah chugging water so much that I am almost sick of it Just that when I am burning up with this fever trying to cool myself a bit. Though that is tricky with the furnace on constantly (darn family) WFH = work from home...though not sure much work gets done. Why has elegance found so little following? LadyCrimson Posted February 12, 2014 Author Posted February 12, 2014 That flu I had, the fever effect was strange to me. I'm usually the sort where a fever has to get really high (104F+) before I even notice I have one. Usually I can have a high fever and still run around doing everything under the sun with nary a blip. So it was very strange to me for a fever of 101-102 to knock me out/make me feel dizzy/spaced out/want to sleep constantly etc. Nasty bug. “Things are as they are. mkreku Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 I'm watching the Japan/Russia womens hockey game. Apparently these ladies think a check is something you buy groceries with. There has been 0 contact in this game. On another note some of the Russian players are hot. Checking is not allowed in women's hockey. Only in men's hockey. Hurlshort Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 International hockey also tends to be pretty light on contact. You won't see much in the way of hard checking among the men either.

Yeah but it's Molson, I hear that doesn't class as beer. Canadians sure making a massive deal of one skater letting another skater go in his place and that guy won a medal, apparently it's sportsmanship to...uh...be sporting to your teammate. Enoch Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 Snow day. Just dug our walk and driveway out of 13-14 inches of medium-wet white stuff.

Gorgon Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 Just impaled myself on a rusty nail. Was rooting around in the attic looking for a power saw. The internets say I won't drop dead from tetanus in 14-20 days. I guess it can wait until tomorrow. Na na na na na na ... greg358 from Darksouls 3 PVP is a CHEATER. That is all.

After drizzling for most of the day, it switched back to snow about 2 hours ago. I'm going to have a few more inches to shovel tomorrow morning. And they still haven't plowed our street. Having a wife in the 37th week of a pregnancy tends to make a person worry when their car is snowed in. 1

I would imagine the forged documents industry in the former SSRs is a booming one with plenty of high-quality talent to go around, so I don't know if that was the smartest move. Quote “Political philosophers have often pointed out that in wartime, the citizen, the male citizen at least, loses one of his most basic rights, his right to life; and this has been true ever since the French Revolution and the invention of conscription, now an almost universally accepted principle. But these same philosophers have rarely noted that the citizen in question simultaneously loses another right, one just as basic and perhaps even more vital for his conception of himself as a civilized human being: the right not to kill.” -Jonathan Littell <<Les Bienveillantes>> Quote "The chancellor, the late chancellor, was only partly correct. He was obsolete. But so is the State, the entity he worshipped. Any state, entity, or ideology becomes obsolete when it stockpiles the wrong weapons: when it captures territories, but not minds; when it enslaves millions, but convinces nobody. When it is naked, yet puts on armor and calls it faith, while in the Eyes of God it has no faith at all. Any state, any entity, any ideology that fails to recognize the worth, the dignity, the rights of Man...that state is obsolete." -Rod Serling

LadyCrimson Posted February 14, 2014 Author Posted February 14, 2014 I've been so exhausted this week. Maybe lingering from that flu. Whatever. Just so pooped. My cat has decided that when I'm half-passed out on the couch, it's entertaining to use a paw to knock the glasses off my face. I open my eyes and he's batting them around the floor. 1 “Things are as they are.
