Rosbjerg Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 Why thank you and on my shelves it's mostly history books from college and then various fiction books and classics like Douglas Adams, Orwell, some Asimov and a lot of Philip K. ****. Fortune favors the bald.
LadyCrimson Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 Good taste in authors. Maybe at some point we could use another community photo thread or something. I kinda miss those. And right now, giving up on the baseball game and I'm about to make some lunch for myself and my cats, then play video games for a few hours. Hubs should be home by then...maybe we can see a movie. “Things are as they are. Hurlshort Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 I was going to give Ros a hard time for wearing a vest at a brunch, but clearly the ladies dig it 1
BruceVC Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 I hope you are all having a good Saturday evening because I'm working tonight at a customer, its 10 pm and I should be finished in about 3-4 hours. Shame poooooor me But there are advantages to working on the weekend, I had a good but hectic Easter. I did loads of partying over 3 days so it will be nice to have relatively restful weekend. Also I intend to drive home through all the places that I know the cops tend to have roadblocks. It will make a nice change to not have to avoid them like the plague "Abashed the devil stood and felt how awful goodness is and saw Virtue in her shape how lovely: and pined his loss” John Milton "We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.” - George Bernard Shaw "What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead" - Nelson Mandela
Rosbjerg Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 I was going to give Ros a hard time for wearing a vest at a brunch, but clearly the ladies dig it Of course they do.. but mostly because that shirt is 'semi see through' and they just can't handle my nips! Fortune favors the bald.

Calax Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 Watching a lot of Siskel & Ebert reviews from "At the Movies" via YouTube, which is a great memory trip. From the blurry, scratchy vids, I deduce they were from people's home VHS collections. Why is this show not for sale on DVD yet? At least, I haven't been able to find it. I'd buy them all, at least until Siskel's last episode. I know this is old but they have their entire video library up on a site. http://siskelandebert.org/videos It's slightly busted right now but *meh* Victor of the 5 year fan fic competition! Woldan Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 Does anyone here do sports or lift weights? Did some weight lifting today (today was chest & back day) and much to my surprise I could increase weight by 15lbs (its 295 lbs now, 10 reps, 3 stints) when doing barbell shoulder shrugs - and I thought I reached my limit. I could also increase weight by 10lbs doing barbell upright rows, now its 125 I think. Love barbell rows, its my favorite exercise. Weight lifting was pretty much the only thing I did today, well, besides daydreaming, thinking about better times and sitting around watching the grass grow. Simply a typical dreary Saturday. I gazed at the dead, and for one dark moment I saw a banquet.
Shryke Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 haven't shaved in over two months - looking like a bit of a hobo was considering cutting all my hair off too, it'd be the first time i've had short hair since i was 14 gf said she'd cry if i got rid of it though when your mind works against you - fight back with substance abuse!
Monte Carlo Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 Walked das hund. Wrote a bit. Played CoH2 beta. Got to help a new person learn some tactics and gifted him a win. Made dinner for my family. Had a glass of wine. Don't know if Sundays get much better than that, but I was happy enough.

Just some guy who used to post snippets on YouTube then created his own site to upload his entire recorded collection or something. You can tell it's VHS recorded and I'm fairly sure there's some missing. I'd still rather have it on DVD. “Things are as they are. Rosbjerg Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 Haha, I tried to edit in "YOU CAN'T HANDLE MY NIPS!" but it just seemed wrong.. Maybe at some point we could use another community photo thread or something. I kinda miss those. Yeah good idea .. I've started taking a lot of pictures recently too. I realized my dad almost took none from the same period of his life and I wanted to make sure that if eventual kids were ever interested some kind of documentation exsisted from mine. melkathi Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 Been reading HTML tutorials and looking at sites' source codes. Tryign to make my own page, but with an editor to make it easy I feel restricted by the editor when it comes to making "my own" stuff, even when it's something as simple as wanting a navbar that isn't a preset colour. I see many more headaches in my imediate future. Unobtrusively informing you about my new ebook (which you should feel free to read and shower with praise).
Raithe Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 Greetins and All. Currently being able to swipe the not-so-broadband connection of one of the sister's of the bride, so I thought I'd drop in and do the whole "I am ALIVE and Un-KIDNAPPED in Mexico!" Managed to get through the weekend of the wedding, and made the speech without too much problems. Although the father of the bride doing the whole "tequilla?" before hand did mean I was suitably relaxed. Yes, seriously, when this guy asks you something you do NOT say no. They definitely appreciated the valiant effort I made at hopefully not butchering their language. Adjusting to the whole altitude and pollution levels hasn't been too much of a problem, although I've ended up spending today chillin out and snoozing with a bad hackin cough thats appeared from somewhere. I'm hoping that's just a minor thing that'll clear up and let me get onto tourist stuff now that the stress and organising of the wedding is done. The bride and groom have gone off for a short honeymoon, so all my duties have been dealt with. It's actually running a mini "Heat-Wave" in mexico-city at the moment, so keeping to the shade is a seriously important thing... Now some people have said that there are no real traffic laws enforced in Mexico City. To those people I say "Nonsense!" the laws of physics, conservation of momentum, and biological reflexes are ruthlessly enforced on these roads. Also, I have to state, I really hate being a principled english gentleman at times. Got to enjoy a mildly flirtatious conversation with one of the cousins of the bride during the reception and then was asked to escort her back to her grandmother at the hotel, en-route she did practically climb all over me. A damn pleasant armful and she was very..smoking hot. But dammiit, although she'd been hitting the tequilla and mojito's, she was in that 16-18 area and I had been asked to escort her safely. So unfortunately, I did have to resist and go by the rules of gentlemanly behaviour. Ah well. C'est la vie. I've got about another 6 days before I'll be back in blighty. Then I'll see how the family handled me being away. Although I did find out that they had to break into the "Emergency Document" I'd left for them about a day after I flew out, so it'll be interesting to see how they survived. 3 "Cuius testiculos habeas, habeas cardia et cerebellum."

Guard Dog Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 I just woke up to a hell of a racket. I flicked on the porch light and saw my grill overturned and a pack of coyotes running through my yard. Tommy is going nuts barking at them. So I swept up the ashes and cleaned up the mess muttering curses on all coyote kind. But I'm sort of glad to see them back. I wondered where they had been.
