Agiel Posted March 31, 2013 Posted March 31, 2013 (edited) Not laugh out loud funny. But whenever I'm having a down day, loading up this clip always puts a smile on my face: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8v6Gc7roJ6g WMS: Weapon of Mass Seduction Edited March 31, 2013 by Agiel 2 Quote “Political philosophers have often pointed out that in wartime, the citizen, the male citizen at least, loses one of his most basic rights, his right to life; and this has been true ever since the French Revolution and the invention of conscription, now an almost universally accepted principle. But these same philosophers have rarely noted that the citizen in question simultaneously loses another right, one just as basic and perhaps even more vital for his conception of himself as a civilized human being: the right not to kill.” -Jonathan Littell <<Les Bienveillantes>> Quote "The chancellor, the late chancellor, was only partly correct. He was obsolete. But so is the State, the entity he worshipped. Any state, entity, or ideology becomes obsolete when it stockpiles the wrong weapons: when it captures territories, but not minds; when it enslaves millions, but convinces nobody. When it is naked, yet puts on armor and calls it faith, while in the Eyes of God it has no faith at all. Any state, any entity, any ideology that fails to recognize the worth, the dignity, the rights of Man...that state is obsolete." -Rod Serling

Gorth Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 Not laugh out loud funny. But whenever I'm having a down day, loading up this clip always puts a smile on my face: WMS: Weapon of Mass Seduction I fail to see the humour in this one. I've watched it 7 times now. Maybe if I watch it an 8th time I might get it 1 “He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. Malcador Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 Ah, European cinema. Why has elegance found so little following? Elegance has the disadvantage that hard work is needed to achieve it and a good education to appreciate it. - Edsger Wybe Dijkstra
LadyCrimson Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 The second movie I ever saw him in, and while the movie wasn't that great, it's still his best scene ever. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bLRoGVfPUxU “Things are as they are. Looking out into the universe at night, we make no comparisons between right and wrong stars, nor between well and badly arranged constellations.” – Alan Watts
LadyCrimson Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 Not funny but it still makes me nostalgia-smile. Plus Travolta is still adorable doing stuff like this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nIrP5G6WUF4 More amusing: Total Eclipse of the Heart cover. The singer is decent, but that's not the funny part. “Things are as they are. I saw the whole movie on youtube and I loved it. Aside from the humour being much better than the clip let on, the characters and story were strong too. I'd never have known that the movie existed if not for your post so once again thank you for enriching my cultural experience.

Agiel Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 I load this clip up to remind myself that no matter how frustrating point-and-click adventure games can get (looking at you, The Longest Journey), they can't get more infuriating than this. In order to watch the full video, you'll have to purchase a subscription to Giant Bomb, which I actually recommend for their Random PC Game videos. Malcador Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 Ah I remember that game, got it as part of the PQ collection. So very bad. But it was somewhat informative on hand signals, weapons and SWAT tactics, so not a total bust. Why has elegance found so little following? babaganoosh13 Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 (edited) I heard this one on Studio Q the other day about how the growing middle class in South Africa has allowed more home grown stand up comedians to earn a living down there. Edited April 3, 2013 by babaganoosh13 1 You see, ever since the whole Doritos Locos Tacos thing, Taco Bell thinks they can do whatever they want.
