Oner Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 Synopsis: The mages take off and split from the chantry, concentrating into a single tower in northern Orlais. Wynne dies bringing back from the dead a templar chick her son is crushing on. The Divine (pope equivalent) isn't too keen on enslaving mages, so there's an internal rift within the church, with the templars apparently denying her authority. She had a son? Malcador Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 Imagine a world where we could. Also, Valve gave an update on that breach in Nov 2011. - http://store.steampo....com/news/7323/ Dear Steam Users and Steam Forum Users: We continue our investigation of last year's intrusion with the help of outside security experts. In my last note about this, I described how intruders had accessed our Steam database but we found no evidence that the intruders took information from that database. That is still the case. Recently we learned that it is probable that the intruders obtained a copy of a backup file with information about Steam transactions between 2004 and 2008. This backup file contained user names, email addresses, encrypted billing addresses and encrypted credit card information. It did not include Steam passwords. We do not have any evidence that the encrypted credit card numbers or billing addresses have been compromised. However as I said in November it's a good idea to watch your credit card activity and statements. And of course keeping Steam Guard on is a good idea as well. We are still investigating and working with law enforcement authorities. Some state laws require a more formal notice of this incident so some of you will get that notice, but we wanted to update everyone with this new information now. HoonDing Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 Also, I took one for the team and read Gaider's latest foray into novelisations. It's more tied in to the games than the last two and fairly obviously sets the scene for DA3. Synopsis: The mages take off and split from the chantry, concentrating into a single tower in northern Orlais. Wynne dies bringing back from the dead a templar chick her son is crushing on. The Divine (pope equivalent) isn't too keen on enslaving mages, so there's an internal rift within the church, with the templars apparently denying her authority. Wasn't bringing back people from the dead explicitly stated as an impossible magic feat in Dragon Age: Origins codex? Also, that dead templar chick wouldn't happen to be Cassandra? The ending of the words is ALMSIVI.

Yes, it was supposed to be impossible, it's even highlighted in the book. Unknown how it's done in practice, but Wynne does tap the spirit possessing her (semi-explained in DAO) and dies herself in the process. In fact a larger theme for the book is that the mages are starting to question the limits set to magic by conventional/traditional wisdom. There's also a case of a Tranquil reversing the tranquilisation (thought to be impossible) etc. Templar chick, "Evangeline", is new to me at least. You're a cheery wee bugger, Nep. Morgoth Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 Finally, it's official. Rain makes everything better.
Starwars Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 Guild Wars 2 is looking pretty interesting to me: Listen to my home-made recordings (some original songs, some not): http://www.youtube.c...low=grid&view=0
Oner Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 That's what I've been trying to tell you guys, but no one listens. The first scene of the video, with the soft music and the painted animation is part of a trailer, and it's pretty sweet. Watch it if you're interested: http://www.gametrailers.com/video/gc-11-guild-wars-2/719218 Giveaway list: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1DgyQFpOJvyNASt8A12ipyV_iwpLXg_yltGG5mffvSwo/edit?usp=sharing What is glass but tortured sand?Never forget! Morgoth Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 Tim Sweeney means business with Unreal Engine 4 10 times more powerful than todays consoles? That sort of contraticting with what I heard the next Xbox will actually be capable of. Rain makes everything better.
Morgoth Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 (edited) Edit: Just watched the video. Nice try going for that Heart of Darkness arc, but I don't think video games are the best medium to tell such a story effectively. Edited February 12, 2012 by Morgoth Rain makes everything better.

WDeranged Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 Black Ops had a very good ending considering the genre, I feel bit shameful for enjoying that game but it was a decent ride, it depresses me to see it at the top of a BEST EVA! list...
Hurlshort Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 I was actually surprised that there were a few decent games on that list. Portal was the best that I saw on there though.
Morgoth Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 (edited) Well, I hope it's new. Either way, looks fantastic. Another new one Edited February 13, 2012 by Morgoth Rain makes everything better.
HoonDing Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 Dialogue animations are still way over the top, they're exactly like the ones in Divinity 2. The ending of the words is ALMSIVI.
Tale Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 Interview with Schafer. While I mine this for topics, holy crap I mean, it costs $40,000 to put up a patch "Show me a man who "plays fair" and I'll show you a very talented cheater."

sorophx Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 I loved the first SpecOps game, I don't even remember what was so good about it... anyway, will keep a close eye on this Walsingham said: I was struggling to understand ths until I noticed you are from Finland. And having been educated solely by mkreku in this respect I am convinced that Finland essentially IS the wh40k universe.
