Felt like smashing something. Bought Dead Island off Gamersgate (just to download and install it all from Steam). Need to find a nice baseball bat and just bash some heads for a bit.

After 12 months on shelf, and arrived pre-order of Dark Souls, I finally found enough time to start to play Demon's Souls... Man this game is a new definition of awesomness! Killed 4th Demon yesterday... Hard as ****, challenging, unforgiving but so addictive gameplay, that I do not remember when I had so much time with a game. I never thought that I ever find another game which will makes my blood boil if you stop to concentrate on the game and then get oneshotted by surprise attack >_<

Best 50EUR invested into the game ever!!!

Can't wait to finish the game and enjoy the Dark Souls as well \o/

dark souls still:

about 40 hours in, just beat ornstein and smough (took 4 tries, making them the new hardest boss imo, Capra demon now is number 2).

i'm at soul level 70, but im soloing the game so that fight was tough as hell.

game is still amazing, but i'm starting to get depressed. You work your way through a living nightmare of a level to reach a boss that's like a nightmare's nightmare, and then when you manage to slay it you feel elated "i just won! i win!" but then realize you still are only halfway finished with the game, and there are many more challenges to come. after a while you start to just feel numb, this world is so dark.

i still have 10 bosses to go i think. I've slain 9. Almost Halfway....

I just checked my pre-order of Arkham City and the PC version apparently was pushed back, it now comes out a week after Skyrim. This stinks, I was looking forward to playing it before Skyrim. I can't cancel my pre-order either, or I'd be missing out on playable Robin and/or Catwoman.

I'm playing Duke Nukem Forever. Finding it pretty fun actually, it feels like a good 90's shooter with some well done half-life 2 enviromental challenges, short unenjoyable scaletrics driving sections and mostly unfunny juvanile humour. But the majority of the gameplay has been solid so far, not sure why it would warrent such terrible reviews.

Finally had some time to play Dark Souls. Reached the Taurus Demon. Ouch. I freak out everytime he gets close! Took me 2 tries before I realized I could kill the archers before I initiate the actual boss battle. Still doing poorly. Will try again later this evening.

Oh please, don't call these "challenges".

Other than that, yeah, DNF was a simple and okay game, but charging full price for this was a blatant ripoff. Gladly, I didn't have to.

Nearly completed Bastion. A simple game with nothing particularly great about it but it was fun enough to be worth the money.

Doing a second DX3 playthrough which is fun, but I think that will be the end of that, too.

Wait until the ending.

It's a little polarizing so may change your opinion.

I kept trying to get further with Dark Souls but finally ran out of patience.

I was hoping that the next boss will be beatable without grinding but no such luck.

Final impressions are similar to first ones - it's an average game with a lot of undeserved praise.

But my biggest problem is the way it's difficulty level has been presented everywhere.

It's complete non-sense that the game is difficult - boss fights are simply around 90% equipment-based and don't test player abilities in a significant manner.

The only necessary ability to succeed at Dark Souls is commitment to grind.

That's bull****. You don't need to grind at all, it helps, but it's not necessary.

ok, 73 hours played and im officially rage quitting dark souls. great game, too hard.

it didn't become too hard until about 75% of the way through the game, now i have 4 bosses left, and cannot beat any of the 3 i have access to. i probably could after trying a few more times on each of them, but i just can't bring myself to do it. this game, like vagrant story, will go into my "great game but too hard and i never finished it" pile. currently that pile just has demons souls, vagrant story, and persona 2 in it (and about 80% of my genesis, snes, and nes collection).

Finished bastion. Not bad. I'll dabble with New Game+ at some point. The ending was good I thought, a nice twist to what had been a fairly bland plot in the first half and I liked the choices that were given, although

I saved Zulf and got not a zot from him.
