Nightshape Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 (edited) Currently playing L.A. Dead Nation, definately the best thing to come out of Finland since... I'm going to say Porn - that's all I'm finding. Edit: Don't google "Hot finnish girls" with safe search off. Morgoth Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 Pr0n is never hot. I prefer real women. Rain makes everything better.

My earlier post was a slight exaggeration, as the women are generally quite attactive, but the male "talent" and non-existent production values are generally enough to make the whole affair appear pretty seedy. Mamoulian War Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 I started to play after long break Gran Turisom 5, finally got gold trophy for National B license and Karting Challenge... Both of these events are extreme pain in the ass without Driving Wheel Controller... But It was finally some game with good challenge... And continueing to play Hyperdimension Neptunia... Its pretty funny commedy with lot of references to console war and gaming... That brings one big question... Nightshape, can you elaborate, why is every single developer making only dead serious games and almost no one is trying to make some comedy? You said you like variation in other thread, but every single game which is dead serious about saving the world or destroy the dark force plotting in the background is getting more and more boring :S I miss the times, when the pure comedies like Days of the Tentacle, Leisure Suit Larry and Monkey Island were more common... When you will next speak with your boss tell him, you see a hole in the market Sent from my Stone Tablet, using Chisel-a-Talk 2000BC. Morgoth Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 With humurous games you're walking a thin line. Some do get it, others don't. There were some games, like the Freedom Force series, but they never were very succesful. Rain makes everything better.
Niten_Ryu Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 I always thought Rakel Liekki was hot. Then again that's the only finnish pr0n actress I know. There certainly are not many and even Rakel Liekki is retired (I've met her as civilian person, I think her real name is Tiina). All Finnish porn is more or less amatour stuff, no matter if those (often unfortunate) women and men call themself as pornstars. Compared to just about any european nation, we have very little native prostitution or pornstars (probably has something to do with relatively good social safety net from goverments side). Sometimes you see girl in various sites tagged as finnish, but often they are from some ex eastern block country. Other way happens too, especially if one of the parents is from another country or if person is moved to another country at some point. ie Puma Swede real name is Johanna Jussinniemi. And to the topic. I'm still playing Shogun 2 - Campaign has finally started to pick up the pace. I think I was for the first 50 round just defending my pathtic 2-3 areas agaist enemies from all sides. For the first time in Total War games ally actually helped me to solve the situation. Only to betray me later on but that was alright, as by that time I had conqured or made peace with all other factions. Let's play Alpha Protocol My misadventures on youtube.
Guest Slinky Posted July 17, 2011 Posted July 17, 2011 Playing Ultimate Doom with Doomsday Engine and having great time with it! Funny how modern FPS games don't interest me (with the exception of HL2), but good ol' Doom draws me in every time. Bloody game still even manages to scare me from time to time! Also started playing World of Tanks more actively again, hopefully I manage to get myself a Tier 10 tank before my clan has conquered the whole map.. I'm not much of a grinder.
Bendu Posted July 17, 2011 Posted July 17, 2011 Finished Capsized. It's okay. There are better indie games, but there are also worser ones. Gave up playing Risen. It's just not my game. But now I know I'm not interested in Risen 2. Tried to install a Morrowind mod. But after the mod was working I lost interest in the game. Same with Dawn of War 2. Just after 3 hours in I don't feel the desire to play further. Now I started a new Dragon Age: Origin playthrough. Wish Obsidian could create such a game. They should put DAO, MotB and P:T into a box and shake it.
Morgoth Posted July 17, 2011 Posted July 17, 2011 Didn't play any game this week. Though I do intend to finally get started with Witcher 2 once patch 1.3 has been released. The current inventory right now is just atrocious. Rain makes everything better.

Sannom Posted July 17, 2011 Posted July 17, 2011 It'd come out with a broken camera. It can't be more atrocious than the camera they saddled us with in DA2 though. That thing was horrible. It's like NWN2 (minus expansions) all over again.
Tale Posted July 17, 2011 Posted July 17, 2011 Prince of Persia: Sands of Time. Bought the whole set back on Steam's Ubisoft sale. Finally getting around to playing through it. Played SoT before, it's the other two of that trilogy I missed. "Show me a man who "plays fair" and I'll show you a very talented cheater."

That game really needs better combat and less automated platforms. They nailed the (K&B) controls and graphics just right though. All said, a pleasing experience.
Purkake Posted July 17, 2011 Posted July 17, 2011 Yup, the combat sucked and the platforming was pretty robotic, but the atmosphere(+ the minimalist story) makes the overall experience very enjoyable.
HoonDing Posted July 17, 2011 Posted July 17, 2011 (edited) I never played the 2008 PoP reboot, but the Sands of Time trilogy I played to death. I'd say Two Thrones is the best overall. Sands of Time has too simplistic combat, Warrior Within has great combat but also those annoying Dahaka chases and terrible boss fights. Not to mention the music, art direction and atmosphere wasn't very PoP-like. Two Thrones kinda combines the best of the first two games, but has the negative of throwing in the "Awesome Button", i.e. speed-kills. Edited July 17, 2011 by virumor The ending of the words is ALMSIVI.
Oner Posted July 17, 2011 Posted July 17, 2011 You could feel the rushed development in WW (just look at the true ending pre-boss fight cutscene). TT was great, but not as good story-wise (I'm talking only of the plot). SoT is, as far as I'm concerned, the best fable I know. Sannom Posted July 17, 2011 Posted July 17, 2011 Two Thrones kinda combines the best of the first two games, but has the negative of throwing in the "Awesome Button", i.e. speed-kills. I liked those, at least when you managed to get some unusual set up. The one where the Prince is dangling from a chain over the head of one gard, with another one not far, with the Prince jumping between the two, was really good. Awesome Button, but in a good way, as in it really felt awesome.

What, you don't like Godsmack playing on the background while you run away from a big black tar monster? Warrior Within all the way; Two Thrones has too many speed-kills and combat isn't really good (as the prince) the other guy its awesome. I'd say the answer to that question is kind of like the answer to "who's the sucker in this poker game?"* *If you can't tell, it's you.
Malcador Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 ArmA 2 OA. Mostly screwing around with the editor, have to learn how to design proper missions, rather than attempts at giant battles. Learning the scripting features is pretty cool too, luckily good bunch of documentation online. Why has elegance found so little following? Elegance has the disadvantage that hard work is needed to achieve it and a good education to appreciate it. - Edsger Wybe Dijkstra
