entrerix
finishing up new vegas with dlc run then portal 2 finally then i might pick up witcher 2 on gog then some of my backlog: enslaved, splatterhouse, dead space 2 (all three of these games have gotten a few hours of my time before i gave up on them, i feel like each of them deserves another shot- even splatterhouse) Killing is kind of like playin' a basketball game. I am there. and the other player is there. and it's just the two of us. and I put the other player's body in my van. and I am the winner. - Nice Pete. greylord
Saw Witcher 2 in the store, thought about getting it but remembered that the retail version has DRM, at least with authentication, so passed on it. I hope they do well with their GoG version. Finished up with Jade Empire. Now starting Space Rangers...but thinking of switching it up and playing Space Rangers 2 instead. Yes, I still play the old games occasionally...thinking about doing a good old IWD run next.

Raithe
Hm, I was somewhere in Chapter 3/Chapter 4 in the Witcher... I really need to get around to picking up my gaming mojo and start playing again. MacMichael
Just starting Chapter 3 in the Witcher. Played through most, I think, of the Prologue of the Witcher 2, but I'm putting off seriously getting into it until my new video card arrives next week. Also been playing Brink which, after being a little worried seeing that first D review, I've been enjoying. Have a friend that I've been working through the Campaign missions with in co-op. I'm going to need better directions than "the secret lair." -==(UDIC)==-
CoM_Solaufein
I give up gaming for now. Getting sick of sloppy made games that are boring and crash constantly. Game companies do have Q&A departments right? I may start one of the IE games. Been listening to Icewind Dale's soundtrack a lot recently, and I am getting that urge to play that simple 2D game. The days when games were exciting and didn't crash on you constantly. Hurlshort
I give up gaming for now. Getting sick of sloppy made games that are boring and crash constantly. Game companies do have Q&A departments right? I think it just comes down to many of today's games being infinitely more complex than those made 10 years ago. Although I agree with you on the boring part, it's amazing how little we've come in that respect.
CoM_Solaufein
An example of boring is Dragon Age. Don't get me wrong I like it. I've completed it once and I am one of those people who will keep playing a game to death if I like it. I start other games, things go well until after the Landsmeet and I get bored. Boring dialogs, boring scenery and even my character is boring because they're a little too powerful. An example of crash happy is FNV. I love the game because I love the setting, the dialogs, building your character, etc. But the crashes kill it especially when I first got it. After the last patch things were good, no more crashes. Now the recent patch, we're back to crashes again. People are too 3D happy these days. I was content with the simpleness of the rich story driven, character developed games of the past. I would have loved to have seen another Infinity Engine game. LadyCrimson
What I read other people saying re: story-boring games, these days, is how I've felt about story in games from the beginning. I gave up on main-story in video games a long time ago and leave that for the movies, and just focus on whether I like the gameplay/particular characters or environment/humor etc etc instead. “Things are as they are. This is how I feel right now, seems I'm only pre-ordering games for the slightly lower price because I certainly can't ****ing play the damn things on release day, bugs, shoddy performance, crashes and driver updates, if I didn't dislike gaming on a TV so much I'd just become a console gamer, I feel like a prisoner of my chosen format sometimes. LadyCrimson
Crash-prone games are definitely patience-wrecking. Much as I loved FNV, it's probably the worst in that regard I've ever played, before all the patching. The idea that games are rushed to release and then patched later is a business habit I do not support. Blizzard makes us wait forever, but at least they don't usually have major bugs or performance issues. In the past anyway. We'll see what they do in the future. “Things are as they are. Raithe
I have to say, I had more crashout problems with FO3 then with New Vegas... Just one of those quirky things I guess. But then, I also haven't picked up any of the dlc yet. After pretty much exploring all of the main game in my first playthrough I just haven't got the enthusiasm to return to it just yet. So I'll wait till all the dlc is out and do a fresh start to face them then... "Cuius testiculos habeas, habeas cardia et cerebellum."
HoonDing
I've been playing the First Templar and while it's been bashed for "lol outdated graphics" and "bad facial animations lololol" it ran silk-smooth and without any bugs and crashes whatsoever. Not to mention, it was a damn fun and addictive game. The same goes for the Drakensang games. Hell, even Two Worlds 2. I'll be picking up the Witcher 2 tomorrow and it will probably run like **** and crash like there's no tomorrow. Not really looking forward to it. Nepenthe
It's funny, games crash a lot less for me these days than they used (of course, I play fewer PC games, but still). I think DA2 is the only post-DOS PC game I've beaten (twice) that didn't crash on me once. Maybe I just have one of those hardware setups that every QA department has? You're a cheery wee bugger, Nep. Have I ever said that? Reapercussions
WorstUsernameEver
The Witcher 2 runs silky smooth for me despite going a little bit higher than the settings CD Projekt RED recommended me. P.S. : CPU is the bottleneck for the game, don't let the fancy graphics fool you into "I need the most powerful gfx card".
