Well, not "ruin", you don't see people saying FO1/2 is crap now because of FO3, but it definitely has changed the way all 3 games are looked at, and how future iterations are judged. Leaving aside whether FO3 was 'real fallout' or not it now stands as one of the primary standards by which FO canon and FO quality and FO style are defined, for many (not all) people. It's just that IW was so one-sidedly maligned and it was a while ago, that like FO:BOS, the new devs could sort of pretend it's not there. It's a useful skill to have particularly where you aren't allowed to call people names. It's a mistake to get too drawn in/worked up. I mean it's not life or death, it's just two guys posting their thoughts on a message board. If it were personal or face to face all the usual restraints would be in place, and we would never have reached this place in the first place. Try to remember that.
