Guest Slinky
Finished ME1. Will finally be continuing Dragon Age now, but I'm still doubting between Human Noble and Dwarf Commoner. Are there any noteworthy differences between the two? I'm usually not very fond of playing a dwarf, but I read good things about it. I played as a human noble, and wasn't exactly blown away. The origin doesn't change much more than the beginning (as far as I know), so just pick the one that interests you. The only thing I know about playing as a dwarf is that you will laugh your ass off during sex scenes Edited February 2, 2010 by Slinky
Diogo Ribeiro
Brutal Legend. Gawd, I'm torn between the love of metal and the bollocks of the open world. It's like Schafer resents having to create a "game" and then it's peppered with pointless fluff. The collectibles, the sandbox, the multiplayer. None of which seems to play to BL's strenghts, barring the MP in concept at least, since I haven't touched that much. Dragon Age: Origins. If RPGs are dead this is the funeral pyre. Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World. The male protagonist is one of the most divisive examples of characterization I've seen in recent years, bawling, sobbing, mewling, apologizing for everything, having flashbacks of things that happened 5 minutes ago of flashbacks of things that happened 5 minutes ago of flashbacks of things that happened 5 minutes ago. And then, at some point, the dude grows a pair and becomes quite confident. POWER OF FRIENDSHIP, etc., until it goes somewhat murky again in the later parts. Torchlight. Clicking la dungeon loca. Hurlshort
I really enjoyed the dwarf commoner origin in DA. I actually started with the human noble and didn't feel it, and went with the dwarf next and never looked back.

I didn't mind the open world, its just the constant ambushes etc. Pretty lame side quests. I absolutely love just driving around watching the heavy metal weather while listening to awesome tunes. My mom's side is Norwegian, which must explain why I like metal... and why I'm so hairy...
Monte Carlo
Since my love affair with Company of Heroes started I've played hardly anything else. However, today I took ten minutes to make a new Dragon Age character (9 minutes mucking about with the face generator thingie, 1 minute spamming stats and waiting for the game to load) and founs myself strangely enthused. So I will be playing that to get ready for the XP and Return to Ostagar. I have also installed Men of War but found it a bit meh. vault_overseer
Stayed up till 1 am last night, doing my quick playthrough of ME1 on easy - I just want the end game save file. entrerix
arcanum is a buggy mess. the only game i've actually given up completely on before finishing because of bugs. brutal legend had SO MUCH POTENTIAL but ultimately only delivered on story atmosphere and dialogue. same could be said of planescape: torment, but torment was leagues better.... brutal legend was still pretty awesome though, well worth a single playthrough, ESPECIALLY if you love or even like, metal. i should replay company of heroes someday... it was pretty fun if memory serves currently playing: second time through mass effect 2 street fighter 4 Killing is kind of like playin' a basketball game. I am there. and the other player is there. and it's just the two of us. and I put the other player's body in my van. and I am the winner. - Nice Pete. Hurlshort
I retried Arcanum recently with the most recent saves and the high res. patch. It was much more enjoyable than when I originally played it and I finished it. I'm played ME2, but also a liberal dash of different Xcom games as well. I got massacred in my first mission in Xcom 1. Then I played 3 and found it a bit too easy. Then I played 2 and it was juuuust right. I'm still taking pretty heavy casualties, but my grenade usage is getting better. Gorth
He hasn't met the brain sucker in 3 yet I found the Terror missions in X-Com 2 to be among the very hardest encounters overall (having replayed, if not completed all 3 recently after buying them from Gamersgate). X-Com 3 had the best game and combat mechanics only rivalled by JA2 “He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. Purkake
Yeah, JA2 missed out on all the fun you can have with well timed explosives and primed grenades. Ah, the good old Chrysalid-B-Gone
Hurlshort
I got massacred in my first mission in Xcom 1. Don't group your squaddies. Heh, I did have one of those on a terror mission, where on turn one an alien threw an explosive at the door of my ship and killed about 7 guys at once. The mission where my party got wiped was rough because I was doing quite well. I'd taken out 5 aliens on a downed small ship and lost two at the start as I exited the ship. I was moving into position to breach the ship. I went in and ended up facing three aliens, I took out one but the interrupt killed my soldier. I decided to regroup at that point, but as I was positioning one alien came out of the ship. He was a baddass and could not miss, and I couldn't get an interrupt. He took out 3 more soldiers. I had two on a roof top, so I started moving them in, but one panicked. The calm and cool one got shot by some alien off in a field somewhere, and my cowardly guy got shot running back to the ship. I actually had a pretty good terror mission on Terror from the Deep yesterday. I love how grenades burn down building in that game, I smoked out a few guys to win. But yeah, the cruise ships are a different story.
mkreku
I've started playing STALKER: Call of Du.. uh Pripyat. So far it's fantastic! The graphics are worse than I remembered it (even with DirectX 11, everything on max and 1920x1080), but the atmosphere! The weapons! The surroundings! The other stalkers! There's something about these STALKER games that makes me love them unconditionally. It's also a bit more difficult than I remember them.. even though I've read that this is supposed to be easier than the previous STALKER:s. Well, I am getting shot to pieces, my weapons keep falling apart in my hands, I keep running out of healing thingies, money and ammo and for some reason I'm always radiated like a.. radiated dog. And yet I love it! So. Weird. Swedes, go to: Spel2, for the latest game reviews in swedish!

I think they had to scale down certain parts of the graphics to make the larger areas viable, might be mistaken though. XCOM 2: Far and away the most difficult Apocalypse: best tactical combat stuff Notice how I can belittle your beliefs without calling you names.
