Games you are looking forward to

My most anticipated game so far is Drakensang: River of Time which is released in Germany in a month. I played the demo and was impressed.

Too true. It seems like there are only 3 companies making western RPGs and it we are pretty lucky to be getting multiple games from two of them this year. Unless we get more delays this year... :ermm

There's of course also Piranha Bytes, CD Projekt, Arkane Studios, Radon Labs, etc.

You forgot Larian Studios. Bow your head in shame!

I wonder what's up with Arcania: A Gothic Tale (aka. Gothic 4)? Haven't heard a peep from them in a while now.

Yeah, this is my contrived way of saying you both forgot about Spellbound. BAH!

Steam's there purely for the sales times.. when a few games that might catch your interest are being sold for less then the price of a cup of coffee..

Otherwise, you're better off doing a quick look on amazon and finding the classic games cheap.. and then having a physical item to go with your spent money :shifty:

New game I'm looking forward to: Magna Mundi. The guys who made the Magna Mundi mod for EU3 formed their own development studio and are making a new game for Paradox based on the mod. Apparently completely overhauling most of EU3's systems in order to do what they want easier, faster, and in more depth.

What do you people think of Relics upcoming Warhammer 40K: Space Marine.

http://www.spacemarine.com/#/en/trailers/

Advertised as an action RPG, release date TBA. Some in engine shots in the trailer, doesn't look bad.

I don't know what to think. On one hand Relic is quality incarnate, on the other RTS's are their game - not this.

Also, its been confirmed for some time - they own the rights to Homeworld again. Something might be up with that since they have only 2 games announced at the moment, the Dawn of War II expansion (finished) and Space Marine. I presume that another full game will be announced soon.

Warhammer 40K: Space Marine

I've seen pretty stupid names in games and elsewhere, but that there takes the cake :)

Space Marine?? For the love of... Is the sequel Revenge of Steroid Shepard?

We actually have an officially sanctioned thread for that, it's pretty funny as well.

Ok, so I've had a slight eye on Red Dead Redemption before, but now it's one of my most anticipated too:

It sounds too good to be true! Even bigger than GTA: San Andreas! Let's hope it makes it to the PC.

I don't think I've been looking forward to a game this much before. I think this will be the closest realization of my fantasy of being the nameless guy/blondie from the dollars trilogy. :p

This is one I've been following for, oh, a year or so. I definitely want. The GTA series did not interest me because you're always a criminal, but I dig on the Western them of a badguy trying to do what's right, and possibly failing. Choice of being an outlaw or a hero is a major selling point to me. Plus, I have had a soft spot for Westerns since a co-worker got me to watch A Fistful of Dollars several years ago. Can't get enough of them now.

I haven't been following this at all, but after watching that I can't wait.

If Alpha Protocol manages to make a release by April, and it is anywhere near as good as I think it will be, then I will be extremely happy with the most recent crop of RPG's. It's been a very steady string, with DA, ME2, and *fingers crossed* AP.
