mrmud Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 Has Carmack decided to stop developing and go full time Rocket Scientist?
Morgoth Posted June 24, 2009 Author Posted June 24, 2009 (edited) Not that I really care what Carmack is up to. Though, I'm still excited about Rage. Edited June 24, 2009 by Morgoth Rain makes everything better.

jjc Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 Elder Scrolls V: Doom IV set on future Earth during Doom II's invasion by Hell. Expand Doom "universe" by introducing Heaven setting, filled with big musclebound archangels with black eyes who wield katanas.
Gfted1 Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 I support this thread over kirrotu's support of the other thread. "I'm your biggest fan, Ill follow you until you love me, Papa"

Expand Doom "universe" by introducing Heaven setting, filled with big musclebound archangels with black eyes who wield katanas.I think you want this thread. Actually, a Doom sandbox game doesn't sound bad at all. - When he is best, he is a little worse than a man, and when he is worst, he is little better than a beast.
WILL THE ALMIGHTY Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 I support this thread more because Llyr kicked me out of his fanclub. "Alright, I've been thinking. When life gives you lemons, don't make lemonade - make life take the lemons back! Get mad! I don't want your damn lemons, what am I supposed to do with these? Demand to see life's manager. Make life rue the day it thought it could give Cave Johnson lemons. Do you know who I am? I'm the man who's gonna burn your house down! With the lemons. I'm going to to get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that burns your house down!"

Expand Doom "universe" by introducing Heaven setting, filled with big musclebound archangels with black eyes who wield katanas. In the ending sequence you have to escort a REALLY BIG archangel to the cyberdemon, and the angel gives it a sucker punch, and then game over. Kaftan Barlast Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 The thread with the most replies wins. And this is NOT good news, IMO. ID Software was one of only three major remaining independant developers, and this signifies and end to an era. Now there is only Valve and Epic games remaining. jjc Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 BREAKING NEWS: VALVE MERGES WITH EPIC GAMES WHY DID THEY DO THAT
Morgoth Posted June 24, 2009 Author Posted June 24, 2009 The thread with the most replies wins. And this is NOT good news, IMO. ID Software was one of only three major remaining independant developers, and this signifies and end to an era. Purkake Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 (edited) Doom RPG please thx. There is one already and it's official. I don't really care much for the new id Software, they haven't really made anything good lately and Doom 3 was a pile of monster closets. The sad part will be classic franchises getting dragged out from their well deserved resting places only to be molested and turned into something unnatural like a person who stares straight into your soul while you feed them the conversation pie. I doubt that this will affect Rage too much, if anything it will get them more funding. EDIT: Props to them for all their Linux stuff, I'm sure Beth will kill that ASAP. From a business stand point it does sound like a big money sink. Guess we'll see. Maybe Obsidian will get to use some of their awesome tech for future Beth-Obs projects?

BethSoft should have bought id Software before making Fallout 3. At least then it could've been a decent old skool shooter. The ending of the words is ALMSIVI.

Rostere Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 Bethesda buys id = EPIC FAIL. Next, we will see EA buying both Bethesda and Blizzard (or is that Activision/ Blizzard? ) and then we'll have all our games coming from the same ****hole. They will probably fire 90% of all personnel and have the remaining work on FIFA 2012, and I bet their shareholders will be happy about the profits. "Well, overkill is my middle name. And my last name. And all of my other names as well!"

At least no one can buy Valve(not publicly owned) and as bad as Activision is, it's a giant money anchor keeping anyone from buying Blizzard. It would be interesting to see the bigger publishers fall apart and all the small developers pour out, but that's not going to happen any time soon Edited June 24, 2009 by Purkake
