Malcador Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 The Witcher EE - CD Projekt really did a great job touching things up, Dandelion's voice is better as is Adda's. Also retrying KOTOR II, forgot how amazing a character Kreia is. Why has elegance found so little following? Elegance has the disadvantage that hard work is needed to achieve it and a good education to appreciate it. - Edsger Wybe Dijkstra
Hurlshort Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 Just reached Tarant in Arcanum. I'm loving the resolution mod, the game looks good at 1600x1050. I'm a young monk trying to find his away in the world. I'm perceptive and good with my stick and alchemy, but not much for technology or magic.
Kelverin Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 resolution mod, the game looks good at 1600x1050. Care to post a screenshot? J1 Visa Southern California Cleaning
Hurlshort Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 resolution mod, the game looks good at 1600x1050. Care to post a screenshot? Sure, should be easy since the only way to get the game to run was to disable the User Access Control in Vista. I'll try to remember tonight if I get to play.
Calax Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 Mass Effect PC and Tales of Valor. Tales of Valor is... interesting with picked shots, not really worth the 30 bucks they want you to spend, maybe half that, given it's got 5ish hours of single player and adds some unique units and some different modes of gameplay (which really need some work). Victor of the 5 year fan fic competition! Kevin Butler will awesome your face off.
Morgoth Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 Lost Odyssey. Disc 2 now, in the mansion. There's some really stupid puzzles in there, otherwise the game is cool. Jansen is a real Jackass, I like him. Also playing Butcher Bay (currently stuck) and started playing Assault on Dark Athena. Really cool game. Starbreeze should get going on making FPS-RPG hybrids, they know how to make good characters. Rain makes everything better.
SteveThaiBinh Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 Simon the Sorcerer 2. Good laughs, but some very obscure puzzles. "An electric puddle is not what I need right now." (Nina Kalenkov)
Purkake Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 (edited) I'm starting out with the UFO series starting with Aftermath. I couldn't get into it when it came out, but after trying out the demo(again), it looks like the next best thing in the sad place that squad-based tactical strategy games have become. Does anyone have any advice/comments on the UFO series? EDIT: Okay, I actually played the demo of UFO: Aftershock, Aftermath looks like a bad beta version. So I'm going to play Aftershock instead. Deadly_Nightshade Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 Playing Now: Storm of Zehir - It's been fun so far but I'm missing the epic plot of Mask of the Betrayer. Left 4 Dead - Multi-player fun. Playing Soon: Velvet Assassin - I should get my copy this week! Jade Empire - I just completed a good character so now it's time to corrupt my companions and take over the world! Half Life 2 Co-op (Synergy Mod) - I've meant to try this for awhile and now I will. Fallout 3 - Will this be my "Let's Play?" "Geez. It's like we lost some sort of bet and ended up saddled with a bunch of terrible new posters on this forum." -Hurlshot
Deraldin Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 Gah! One of the herbs that is used for the revive skill is also used for a normal healing skill. My idiot people decided to use them all up on basic healing rather than using their magic healing ability which don't require an consumables. This situation has been fixed. Anyone that has a magic healing ability and an herb healing ability has had the herb healing ability turned off so that won't use up all my revive herbs anymore. It's really freakin' annoying to slog through two areas with some moderately tough wandering monsters, only to get to the boss and discover that you don't have any ability to revive. This coupled with the boss's ability to charm unions and AoEs that 2 shot your unions makes for one very tough, if not impossible fight.
Hurlshort Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 Playing Arcanum and I can't find any lockpicks! I should have taken the spell instead of going the tech route.
Kelverin Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 Fallout 2 - Currently in Redding. Reached 12th level. Love the music, really helps set the atmosphere of the town. Fighting in the Wanamingo mine, tough tough encounters. MVP 2005 - Back to this after playing the travesty that is MLB 2K9 J1 Visa Southern California Cleaning
Aristes Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 How about a "what will I be playing soon" question? Witcher enhanced edition for 40$ or Mass Effect for 20$?
WILL THE ALMIGHTY Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 Lost Odyssey Opening sequence was amazing, then the plot kept going okay, but when you reach Numara its all downhill from there, especially the kids. Good thing Jansen is in it, otherwise I'd have given up. "Alright, I've been thinking. When life gives you lemons, don't make lemonade - make life take the lemons back! Get mad! I don't want your damn lemons, what am I supposed to do with these? Demand to see life's manager. Make life rue the day it thought it could give Cave Johnson lemons. Do you know who I am? I'm the man who's gonna burn your house down! With the lemons. I'm going to to get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that burns your house down!"

GreasyDogMeat Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 GTA IV: The Lost and the Damned. I like the main character Johnny a heck of a lot more than Niko. Niko is always whining about something. How could one be in such a sour mood when its so fun to drive over pedestrians left and right? Some awesome new tunes, more emphasis on blasting things and some sweet new weapons. Considering replaying the classic Fallout games. I never did manage to beat Fallout Tactics. I always made it about halfway through and then got bored with it. Sure, the combat is excellent, but Fallout 1 & 2 had so much more to do. Plan on getting all 3 Fallout 3 DLCs at once when the final one, Broken Steel, comes out on May 5th. Pretty excited about Broken Steel as the lame ending will be changed and the ability to get to level 30 will be added among other interesting additions.
CoM_Solaufein Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 Dropped playing Diablo 2. I'm in the expansion part it bores me. That is to hack n slash for me. Gorth Posted April 30, 2009 Author Posted April 30, 2009 Still playing a bit of Icewind Dale every now and then. Just finished Dragons Eye. Dastardly Talona deceivers departed with my desired object. Doom and damnation to be destributed to the slithering enemy. Btw, what is the minimum level requirement to "enter" the Heart of Winter expansion? I thought it was 8, but it seems to be more. Just a story. A story to scare little kids. But you're the real deal. The demon who dares to challenge God. So what the hell do you want? Don't seem to me like you're out to make this stinkin' world a better place. Why you gotta kill all my men? Why you gotta kill me? Nothing personal. It's just revenge.
