Setzer Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 Warhammer Online Yep, tomorrow open beta starts. Gotta figure out what I want to play when it comes out for real. Right now I'm leaning towards playing a Shadow Warrior on Order. I'm more of ranged class type of guy. Bright Wizards are fun too.....it's a tough call. My only problem with rolling on the Order side is going to be the lack of Order tanks. Since they axed the Knights of the Blazing Sun class people are left with either playing a Dwarf or Elf tank and alot of people on the forums were bitching how they didn't want to play a Dwarf or play an Elf wearing a dress. This could be a serious problem for Order because there was considerably more Destruction tanks out in the RvR zone and Order was getting their ass handed to them constantly.

Morgoth Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 A miracle this game gets a sequel. Culpa definitely had a lot of potential, which was unfortunately mostly squashed. The gameplay was weak and annoying (walking long distances, hardly any interaction), the puzzles unfun, and most importantly, the story seemed to have holes. I never could finish the game because I couldn't progress. Not because I didn't know what to do, but because there was nothing in the log/map/wherever to advance. On the good side though, some characters were very interesting, the writing pretty good, the music also very charming.. I hope for Culpa2 that they use a new engine, a more refined Art direction, and a bit more clear story progression. Rain makes everything better.
WITHTEETH Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 From what I've seen theres a major improvement, but its like going from 1994-2001 technolgy wise. But its an adventure game, so who cares about the graphics! Always outnumbered, never out gunned! Unreal Tournament 2004 Handle:Enlight_2.0 Myspace Website! My rig
Deadly_Nightshade Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 I never could finish the game because I couldn't progress. Not because I didn't know what to do, but because there was nothing in the log/map/wherever to advance. Did you try sleeping, walking around, sleeping, walking around, etc. until something happened? A few of the critical events are timed to take several in-game weeks and so it can be confusing if you did these later when there is nothing to do in-between the scheduling and the event itself. I know, but I only got to meet that chick in the cafe who always told me to have more sex, and there was that one occasion where I had to meet that perv "You know what bonking means?" in a disco.... Wait. Now I remember. I couldn't progress because I had to decipher this odd image. I was too lazy and frustrated to do that, so I quit. That's what I mean with retarted game design. They better design Culpa 2 with 21th century gamedesign in mind this time... Edited September 7, 2008 by Morgoth Rain makes everything better.
Azure79 Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 Starcraft 2 of course All the NWN2 expansion packs and modules Rise of the Argonauts. I've been watching a few videos and the game looks really fun. I'll probably check out a few reviews first before buying. Dragon Age Fallout 3. Please let it be good. Spore.

Deadly_Nightshade Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 Well, if Resident Evil 5 gets a good PC port I think I'd buy it - although DRM would have to also be taken into the picture. tripleRRR Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 Demigod - looks like Dota except with only 8-10 heroes and a couple more maps. I hope they add more heroes otherwise it's not going to last long. Rise of the Argonauts - reminds me of Mass Effect set in mythical Greece. Dragon Age - on the fence about this one. While I do like Bio's games for the most part, DA looks so damn generic that it just seems uninteresting. After watching a couple gameplay videos it almost seems like I have already played the game. Using a gamepad to control an FPS is like trying to fight evil through maple syrup.

SteveThaiBinh Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 Drascula. Never heard of it before, but comedy + adventure game + free = what's not to like? "An electric puddle is not what I need right now." (Nina Kalenkov)
Morgoth Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 I think I'm gonna pick up Crysis Warhead next week. The first reviews are very positive (Eurogamer: 9/10, IGN: 9.4/10). I also wanted to pick up Star Wars The Force Unleashed, but the Metacritics average is 70%, lamenting that while TFU is fun, it's also brainless and repetitive, so I think it's better to save that up for the bargain bin. Rain makes everything better.

fastpunk Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 Apart from Obsidian's two upcoming titles, I'm really looking forward to Tomb Raider: Underworld and Quake Live, they both should be out later this year. Magister Lajciak Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 I was looking forward to Red Alert 3, as I indicated in one of my previous posts. I want to correct that now, as I no longer intend to buy it due to the draconian DRM that EA will be imposing on the game.
