Deraldin Posted November 8, 2007 Posted November 8, 2007 Heh, I just started that and played for about twenty minutes - it's fun and witty, but I do with the controls were configurable... What would you change about the controls?
SteveThaiBinh Posted November 8, 2007 Posted November 8, 2007 I do one better, Gorth. I finally beaten that game! YAY ME! I'm sure the entire forum community would like to congratulate you on this truly momentous day. "An electric puddle is not what I need right now." (Nina Kalenkov)

What would you change about the controls? I would like to be able to rotate the camera or use the "WASD" for simple movement, but overall it's been a great game so far... "Geez. Hell Kitty Posted November 8, 2007 Posted November 8, 2007 If I were to restart Deus Ex. Anyone got any good mods? There is a mod called Shifter, which adds to the game, rather than being an all new set of missions. I don't recall exactly what it does, but it changes the rule system somewhat, throws in some news unique weapons to find. Because I'm so nice I've decided to add a link: http://mods.moddb.com/8002/shifter/

LadyCrimson Posted November 8, 2007 Posted November 8, 2007 For those who've played/are playing HG:L - what's the opinion? Is it a decent single-player action-RPG, or if one has already played Diablo2/WoW to death, would it just be same ol' same ol' w/shiny graphics? I tried Ootp baseball, and it's an interesting looking, very detailed baseball/manager-sim (text-based, it's not a 3d graphic type game), but the 500 page pdf manual turned me away. No time for that, thanks. :D “Things are as they are. Zoma Posted November 8, 2007 Posted November 8, 2007 Im playing Gears of War for the PC. Yes, it's definently much better than the 360 version, and it runs smooooth as buttah' Is the requirement as legendary as what the various forums had claimed?

No time for that, thanks. :D From what I hear, it's terrible. I played the demo and it was absolute garbage. The graphics aren't even all that impressive. This is also the type of game that is generally well reviewed whether it's good or bad, so that fact that the reviewers are skewering it means it really is a mess. Maybe in a few months it will be improved through patches, but I'd pass on it for now.
Shryke Posted November 8, 2007 Posted November 8, 2007 If I were to restart Deus Ex. Anyone got any good mods? again i would recommend Shifter it adds all sorts of things, like skill points for stealth/kills and unique weapons also minor things, such as changing enemies inventory (and gives Paul non lethal weapons rather then letting him run around murdering dudes then tell you off for killing people ) also, Zodiac was quite a cool mod. i still love sneaking around on the first level when your mind works against you - fight back with substance abuse!
Calax Posted November 8, 2007 Posted November 8, 2007 I want to have it be semi vanilla, just with you know, better textures and so on. Victor of the 5 year fan fic competition! Kevin Butler will awesome your face off.
Shryke Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 in that case i'd say go for Shifter it doesn't alter the storyline or anything, just tweaks and stuff when your mind works against you - fight back with substance abuse!

Calax Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 decided against reinstalling and got SupCom: Forged Alliance. Nukes got hit by the nerf bat so hard you can't recognize them. Victor of the 5 year fan fic competition! Kevin Butler will awesome your face off.
Deraldin Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 decided against reinstalling and got SupCom: Forged Alliance. Nukes got hit by the nerf bat so hard you can't recognize them. Considering how much effort they took to build in the first place, how badly have they been nerfed.
Noceur Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 (edited) Finished S.T.A.L.K.E.R the other day... been rooting around for games since I've upgraded my computer. It's kinda eerie to be able to play everything maxed out with the native resolution on my TFT. Anyway, loved the game although I modded it a bit so that I got less bullet dispersion when aiming. I changed it in the actor file though, so a ruined weapon will still disperse like hell. Now I need games for graphic whororing, so that I can justify my hardware purchase. Tale Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 (edited) I find myself tempted to make a quick conversion mod combining Team Fortress 2 and Half-Life 2. I could almost certainly do it, especially if I took some shortcuts and didn't bother balancing it. The idea is to make it possible to play through Half-Life 2 using Team Fortress weapons or classes. I may look at how to do this over the weekend and try to find a compromise between ease of creation and features. Sand Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 Hmmm... I think I might go through Bloodlines again. Downloading mods and fan fixes now... Vampire Bloodlines True Patch: More fixes without modifying the game. Wesp's 4.3 Fan patch that fixes more bugs and restores content but modifies the game a great deal. Hi-Res NPC Pack that I downloaded that is suppose to up the textures a bit on a few NPCs. Histories Revised 2.1 that is suppose to restore the histories of the PC and make them less buggy in gameplay. And of course I got the Widescreen patch as well. Starwars Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 Replaying a mod for NWN1 called Almraiven. This is my favourite module for the game, it's extremely well done. I usually consider well written dialogue choices important for this type of game, but the lack of them (well, there are some, but they're not that elaborate for the most part) doesn't bother me in this case. It's just to damn good. I'd take this over many full on games I've played. I've also been gearing up to replay Vampire: Bloodlines now that the 4.3 unofficial patch was released. Might start playing the Witcher again, but I lost interest for now. It's a good game (though I don't think it's as good as many people do), but I don't know. To many little flaws, to much filler content and crappy translation... Hoping for a new patch that will reduce loading times at least. Other than that, eagerly awaiting to start playing the Purgatorio public beta, and perhaps Mysteries of Westgate once those get released. Considering how much effort they took to build in the first place, how badly have they been nerfed. they still do as much damage and so on, they just take For Bloody Ever to build the warhead.I think it took mine about an hour to build ONE warhead for launch. they did give the UEF a dandy little arty piece that can hit anything on the map, Aeon didn't seem to get much but I'm just trying out the first level of the campaign for each group. my Aeon fight is going badly as theres Aircraft galore and the Galactic domination bot is not aa capable, if it was I'd be in heaven.
