SteveThaiBinh
I saw Mystery Men on TV a few nights ago. I'd never even heard of it before. It may be the first thing with Ben Stiller in that I actually liked, although I didn't particularly like him, but I thought William H. Macy was awesome as usual. Oh, and I think Tonari no Totoro is probably the best children's movie ever made, although Mononokehime was good, too. "An electric puddle is not what I need right now." metadigital
Japanese. I don't think it really matters though. Not with Miyazaki at least, since the dubs are really professional. In contrast, most people have watched the highly praised Otomo's Akira film adaptation with English dubs. I tried that and thought they were horrendous. Miyazaki's movies are so popular in the West that they get great voice talent to work with in the subs. Everyone knows the movies are a huge cash cow and the effort put into dubs reflects that. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm pretty sure the dubbed version has a (ever-so-slightly) different script, just from watching it back-to-back in English and then Japanese ... certainly I like the way Japanese say "Yessir" / "Ma'am" / "Of course" / "Without Delay" / etc ... what is that utterance OBSCVRVM PER OBSCVRIVS ET IGNOTVM PER IGNOTIVS OPVS ARTIFICEM PROBAT

Blarghagh
Underworld - You know how some reviewers decline typing a word out of sheer disgust and just lace their articles with photos of people puking? Laozi
The Thin Red Line Two things I always feel when watching this movie. Sadness for Jim Cavaziel, and contempt for Nick Nolte. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> One of my favorites movies. I just watched another of my favorites, Pale Rider. Pretty creepy. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The Descent blew me away. Not that it was the bestest movie evar but rather because it was surprisingly good. Unknown cast, unknown director and not from Hollywood(should've been a clue, I know...). Over here most theaters are properties of major Hollywood studios and even Canadian films have a hard time getting enough screens, so this film was a little gem. It's very creepy, jump inducing chlostrophia-ish with lots of gore. Who would've thought such mature, beautiful and smart women(not a male in sight except for the baddies) could be so violent and sadistic. http://entertainmentandbeyond.blogspot.com/

Baley
Tais-toi! - I've seen worse. Fritz The Cat - Crumb hated it, of course; it ain't half bad: Why does a great actor like James Earl Jones always have to play black men? Watership Down - Very nice; still, it somehow reminded me of: Oh, and Drabs, The Descent is about a bunch of vulvae who get stuck in a cave. Hilarity ensues. Gfted1
The Black Dahlia. Okay movie but Im not sure why they bothered with the Black Dahlia case. They had almost every facet of the case wrong and took such ridiculous creative writing liberties they might as well made some fabricated murder and built around that.
