Raithe Posted April 29 Author Posted April 29 Dead Boy Detectives is fairly entertaining for what it is. A fairly decent adaption of Neil Gaiman's work, but you can tell the influence some of the scriptwriters had with a CW background. "Cuius testiculos habeas, habeas cardia et cerebellum."
Maedhros Posted April 29 Posted April 29 Fallout was much better than I expected. Really enjoyed it, especially the mid-season episodes. 3 Body Problem - promising start. Only watched one episode yet. Shogun - really, really looking forward to this. Probably gonna wait until I'm home alone for a weekend or something like that.
rjshae Posted May 2 Posted May 2 Yes, Shogun was a pretty historical drama. The live action version of The Tick has been available on FreeVee, so I've been amused by that. "It has just been discovered that research causes cancer in rats."

The 2001 live action Tick series with Patrick Warburton, or the 2016 live action Tick series with Peter Serafinowicz? I cannot - yet I must. How do you calculate that? At what point on the graph do "must" and "cannot" meet? Yet I must - but I cannot! ~ Ro-Man
InsaneCommander Posted May 4 Posted May 4 Fallout surprised me. Definitely better than I expected, even after hearing good things about it.
Hurlshort Posted May 4 Posted May 4 Finished Fallout as well. It was fantastic. Fun for the whole family.
Lexx Posted May 6 Posted May 6 (edited) Damn, her comeback tour flopped and now she's going to be an actor again? /Edit: Watched Twisted Metal on Amazon. No clue how close that is to the old video game since I never played it, but the show itself was surprisingly not bad. Enjoyed it for the most of it and would totally watch a season 2. She had that Mother movie last year that was decent. That being said, this looks terrible, but it also looks like she probably got paid well to get bounced around in a box for awhile. Wait, she did that one before...is this a sequel to The Cell? Ah well, they can't all be Hustlers.
majestic Posted May 7 Posted May 7 Currently watching the ESC 2024 semi final #1. This one is more entertaining than the past five combined. And by entertaining I mean the acts are a blast to watch. Not so much a blast to listen to, though. No mind to think. No will to break. No voice to cry suffering.

Lexx Posted May 7 Posted May 7 Jeez, I wonder how this looks like for the people who are there live.. or are there any at all? Did they change the format? Didn't know there is semi finals and stuff now. "only when you no-life you can exist forever, because what does not live cannot die."
Gorgon Posted May 8 Posted May 8 the music is supposed to be terrible, it's tradition Na na na na na na ... greg358 from Darksouls 3 PVP is a CHEATER. That is all.
Gorgon Posted May 8 Posted May 8 I also watched the first fallout season. It started a bit mixed and turned out really good. I think they got the recipe largely right. There is a ton to chose from in all the games and having three characters just kinda move through it all, The good, the bad and the ugly style, while keeping the characters in focus enables all the lore not to become baggage. rjshae Posted May 10 Posted May 10 Not sure if this has been mentioned in here before, but a sequel to the Orphan Black sci-fi series is coming out June 23 on AMC. It stars Krysten Ritter of Jessica Jones fame. I enjoyed the original, particularly the remarkable work of Tatiana Maslany who simultaneously played more than five different and completely unique characters, so I'm looking forward to it. 2 "It has just been discovered that research causes cancer in rats."
LadyCrimson Posted May 10 Posted May 10 HBO/Max - Tokyo Vice: white guy wants to be a news (print) reporter in 90's Japan. Gets involved in seedy underworld plots and stuff. I love Ken Watanabe, I'll try it. Episode 1: Ken is on-screen for about 10 seconds. The rest is largely setup/chr. building for the youthful main character. I found it well shot/done but kinda slow/boring. Main chr. initially not super likable/a tad annoying but earnest. It's just that most of the supporting/side chrs. come off as more interesting. >.> Episode 2: Ken is on-screen a little longer but not by much. >.> Still kinda boring, but the Yakuza turf war stuff may get more interesting. I don't mean in action way, it's not that kind of series. I think. I think Ken is supposed to become more important in the series/with the main chr, so going to watch more and hopefully Eps. 3 will be the one. “Things are as they are. CopingMarlinsFan Posted May 13 Posted May 13 First off, love Orphan Black and I am very hyped for it for a very specific reason that might be a tad weird saying this but I actually wrote a story where two sisters were sent to a fantasy world and they were played by Krysten Ritter and Tatiana Maslany in my head. I will not fully divulge the story but I remember it fondly.

majestic Posted June 6 Posted June 6 (edited) Finally managed to find some time to finish the first season of Invincible, which I started way back when it came out at the recommendation of a friend. Except for the plot twist of the first episode, the first three episodes of the series were so dreadfully boring that I put off watching the rest of the season for a while. The following episodes got a lot better, but there are some problems that ended up gnawing at my brain while watching. Spoiler The biggest being Atom Eve and Invicible's fight with Machine Head's mercenaries. The Kilrathi mercenary handily kicked everyone's ass, and almost killed Invincible, but when it came to fighting Omni-Man nobody bothered to hire him. Dude beat up "Humanity's last best hope" (next to a Japanese tentacle monster) without breaking a sweat, and suddenly they expect Invicible to stand a chance against Omni-Man? Hello Cecil, go ask Isotope to bring the guy back. He'd love to fight Omni-Man. And if not, then at least show a scene where he declines crossing the Viltrumites. Atom Eve, on the other hand, cannot be fixed without removing her. A superhero whose superpower is being able to change matter at a subatomic level at will? Why, hey Atom Eve, why don't you turn Omni-Man to stone? And don't tell me she can't change organic matter, she creates trees from thin air and changes her appearence when necessary. Well, I've watched worse. On the other hand, I've also watched much better series. Onwards to season two then. Edited June 6 by majestic 1 No mind to think. No will to break. Bartimaeus Posted June 6 Posted June 6 (edited) I forgot exactly what I said about Invincible...something like "I could barely watch the first half, but by the end I'd had a pretty good time because it stopped being stupid". Common problem with a lot of shows, really, especially in this new age of low episode counts causing the front-loading of all your character and world setup right off the bat. I haven't started the second season...to be honest, all the people that I knew who liked the first season seem to have completely lost interest in the show because of the amount of time it took to make a second season, so nobody watching it and nobody caring hasn't really put me into a mood to watch it. To be honest, on the very rare occasion that I watch it, I basically don't pay attention to what anyone can do in superhero/villain stuff. The moment I start thinking about it, my suspension of disbelief can't help but go right out the window. Strengths, weaknesses, and powers/abilities come and go while new ones are made up all as the narrative demands it, and there are pretty much always obvious massive issues like the one you pointed out with Atom Eve, so does any of it really matter? It's just better not to care, if you can. Edited June 6 by Bartimaeus Quote How I have existed fills me with horror. For I have failed in everything - spelling, arithmetic, riding, tennis, golf; dancing, singing, acting; wife, mistress, whore, friend. Even cooking. And I do not excuse myself with the usual escape of 'not trying'. I tried with all my heart. In my dreams, I am not crippled. In my dreams, I dance.
Gfted1 Posted June 6 Posted June 6 Why didnt Ant Man go up Thanos butt and grow? Because then the show is over. Which reminds me of the original Teen Titans TV series from 2003, during the final battle with the BBEG, Beast Boy flies into his ear and then shapeshifted into a whale. Really made Trigon mad. Good times. "I'm your biggest fan, Ill follow you until you love me, Papa"
