The words freedom and liberty, are diminishing the true meaning of the abstract concept they try to explain. The true nature of freedom is such, that the human mind is unable to comprehend it, so we make a cage and name it freedom in order to give a tangible meaning to what we dont understand, just as our ancestors made gods like Thor or Zeus to explain thunder.

What? You thought it was a quote from some well known wise guy from the past?

Stupidity leads to willful ignorance - willful ignorance leads to hope - hope leads to sex - and that is how a new generation of fools is born!

We are hardcore role players... When we go to bed with a girl, we roll a D20 to see if we hit the target and a D6 to see how much penetration damage we did.

That isn't irony, Alanis Morrissette. Irony would be if she bought the dress in Oregon to avoid sales tax, or she wrote off the cost of the ticket on her taxes. Wearing a tax the rich dress to a rich event is either an insult to the other guests or it is properly delivered message, depending on your perspective.

Exactly. If anything, she's doing exactly what she says, "Taxing the rich", by making them pay sizeable dollar amounts for the tickets... but whoever made the text doesn't understand the meaning of the words used. Probably a lot of readers/viewers who doesn't understand it either.

Edit: Just in case it's necessary, no AOC isn't on the rich list

I'm the enemy, 'cause I like to think, I like to read. I'm into freedom of speech, and freedom of choice. I'm the kinda guy that likes to sit in a greasy spoon and wonder, "Gee, should I have the T-bone steak or the jumbo rack of barbecue ribs with the side-order of gravy fries?" I want high cholesterol! I wanna eat bacon, and butter, and buckets of cheese, okay?! I wanna smoke a Cuban cigar the size of Cincinnati in the non-smoking section! I wanna run naked through the street, with green Jell-O all over my body, reading Playboy magazine. Why? Because I suddenly may feel the need to, okay, pal? I've SEEN the future. Do you know what it is? It's a 47-year-old virgin sitting around in his beige pajamas, drinking a banana-broccoli shake, singing "I'm an Oscar Meyer Wiene"

Clearly the losers had to do chores.  Mom and Sally had obviously lost previous rounds of the game, so had to wash dishes.  Now would it be Dad or Timmy who mowed the lawn?  Also Sally threw her game, because she felt she was too small to mow the lawn and wasn't confident she could beat Timmy, who cheats when they play against one another.

I cannot - yet I must. How do you calculate that? At what point on the graph do "must" and "cannot" meet? Yet I must - but I cannot! ~ Ro-Man

I'm pretty sure the congress pay puts her in the top 10% in US and even higher worldwide. If being in the top 10% isn't "rich" then who she wants to tax?

Then again even the leftist multimilioners claim themselves not rich.

Her student debt (student loan) still exceeds her assets, so a net negative. Not necessarily rich. She'll probably end up loaded if she spends a life time in congress, no disagreement there. Still, it was a stunt well done and she got a lot of media attention for her message.

Holy moly your rent is ~$5100 / month? Yikes! Sounds like you could use some UBI and UFH. :p

$3200 a month. I'm not a payroll specialist, but after taxes, health care, state retirement, union dues, and a bunch of other stuff, our paychecks don't come out to $14k a month. It is more like $9k. That is combined household, not just me.

My bad. I just did the straight math of 174000 x 35% = 60900 / 12 = 5075.
