sorophx Posted July 30, 2022 Posted July 30, 2022 GOG keeps denying all my transactions and that link doesn't work, so I'm guessing my Internet provider works through Ukraine or something, and GOG is denying me service because they think I'm a combatant 1 2 Walsingham said: I was struggling to understand ths until I noticed you are from Finland. Gfted1 Posted July 31, 2022 Posted July 31, 2022 Huh, that stinks. I had no idea some gaming companies are blocking transactions to Russia. I wonder if Steam and Epic are following suit? Just curious, but are you having disruptions to other online services like Amazon? "I'm your biggest fan, Ill follow you until you love me, Papa"
sorophx Posted August 1, 2022 Posted August 1, 2022 the thing is I'm not from Russia, so something weird is going on, my guess is GOG is using a "carpet bomb" approach to blocking IP-address ranges, and my IP is within that range even though territorially I'm right next to Poland. 1 Walsingham said: I was struggling to understand ths until I noticed you are from Finland. Yes, EA sucks, but never understood this whole outrage over "always online" to be honest. Is it an "outside of the USA" problem? I mean by American standards I'm pretty dirt poor and live paycheck to paycheck but I always manage to have fast internet and can float the bill...

The burden is not to me to explain why I don't want to give away my gaming habits online, the burden is on EA to prove there is a need for me to be hooked up on the internet constantly when playing their games.
