Well, some of my Marine buddies who have gone full Trump believed it enough to get riled up over it. But you already know we aren't known as the brightest bunch.

  I'm sure I told this once already but I once saw two guys carrying a hand truck. It was either at Camp Foster or Camp Schwab I forget.

I wonder why umlaut's are only used in surnames.

Umlauts signify a specific vowel pronunciation as I recall, so are in all parts of names and words.  Eg, das mädchen = the girl (which can also be used as a forename, eg Mädchen Amick) for German.  That said Jääskeläinen is a Finnish name I think, so its not an umlaut if I understand it correctly, but a Scandinavian character used in the Finnish alphabet (if we still have some Finnish speaking posters they may be able to elaborate further).

You're correct if I understood everything correctly. I mean I just speak the language. I really don't know some specific grammar naming conventions. I did go and check it out on wiki.

In Finnish, the letters ä, ö and y are the "front vowel" counterparts to the "back vowel" letters a, o and u — grammatical endings and word suffixes using these letters will use either the front or back form depending on the vowel harmony of the word they are affixed to. The glyphs for ä and ö are derived from the similar looking German umlauted letters, but as with y versus u, they are considered letters in their own right and thus alphabetized separately.

As for first names, I hadn't ever thought about it, but there really aren't that many first names with ä or ö in them, like at most ten or so.

You see Malc... that is why the US is the greatest country on Earth. That girl just got here and already she's back to a healthy weight, found a job as an internet porn star, and has already become a meme! USA, USA, USA

In all seriousness you didn't need to go to snopes. It's an internet meme.... nobody with a brain took it seriously to begin with!

Which is another way of saying that way too many people took it seriously.

What kill me are the commission prices on the art description. I seriously can't tell if the artist is taking the piss or if they genuinely think that highly of their work.

The words freedom and liberty, are diminishing the true meaning of the abstract concept they try to explain. The true nature of freedom is such, that the human mind is unable to comprehend it, so we make a cage and name it freedom in order to give a tangible meaning to what we dont understand, just as our ancestors made gods like Thor or Zeus to explain thunder.

What? You thought it was a quote from some well known wise guy from the past?

Stupidity leads to willful ignorance - willful ignorance leads to hope - hope leads to sex - and that is how a new generation of fools is born!

We are hardcore role players... When we go to bed with a girl, we roll a D20 to see if we hit the target and a D6 to see how much penetration damage we did.
