SonicMage117
I played the game without any hud/u.i excrpt for a dynamic map (a map that I could toggle on and off) so I never saw any such text or words pop up on screen But on a more serious note... I wish I could go into detail of how the way you deal with bounties affects your rep and isn't just a "mission accomplished" thing but the only way for e to do that proper would be for me to give in-game examples and I don't really want to simce that would be spoilers - and I would rather not spoil for people just for proving myself. Meh. I'll just say "stuff happens" and it's not just getting paid or a notch on your quest log. It's nothing like Red Dead Rederption 1's bounty hunting in terms if structure. And thankfully nothing like L.A Noire's structure either. Edited December 4, 2018 by SonicMage117 Just what do you think you're doing?! You dare to come between me and my prey? Gfted1
Heh, nah. The game forces you to either join an alliance or make your own, I just forgot to set mine to "invite only" so lots of new players jumped aboard. I dont mind, but since Im the "Admiral" of the alliance I dont want to have to do anything to support it. Hurlshort
I'm not sure I buy the whole idea that RPG's need to have choices when it comes to story. I can think of a number of traditional RPG's that give you little choice when it comes to fighting bosses and advancing the main quests. I guess maybe you can call it more of an action-RPG, but really RDR2 fills a bunch of different genre checkboxes and at the end of the day you are left with a fantastic game. I don't think RDR2's really built to support more than a single role that's been chosen for the main character by the writers.I am pretty sure you didn't play Red Dead Redemption 2 because that is inaccurate. Let's ignore the multiplayer being built solely for party based gameplay, and focus on different missions in the single player campaign are literally centered around different party/crew members and how they interact together, especially towards at the end of the game where You are no longer the main character Arthur, you are a new main character (John who is then renamed under a different identity) who has a stronghold and a family having a completely different role in the game, Abigail and Jack also follow suit. Even the blade specialist is the town musician who's skills become very useful later in the game. The cook is also the clean up of the camp and so on. So it's not like these are "one purpose characters" or "two demensional" ones... But even earlier in the game, your home base has a cook, a hunter, a theif and others to interact with, it's really no different from an rpg in the sense of having a crew that partakes in specific community jobs. Stories, within stories, within stories but more importantly, none if it's boring. Western rpg, Crpg's and Jrpg's aren't really any different than this in regard to what companions roles structure to take some initiative in identity complex. Red Dead Redemption 2 just does a bit better job than even the most complex rpg's at making more sense on how the player and the npc's go about it. In other words, it's not a 200 hour rpg and somehow manages more detailing in character development. Most missions in Red Dead Redemption 2 will even ask you what you want a npc to do (stay back and approach stealtily, go in guns blazing, or find some other way). This is one thing that was missing from one of my all time favorite rpg's (Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen). How I hate rpg's which feature companions who rush ahead of me into battle!!!! It's really okay that a third person open world game set a new standard in the industry, my all time favorite game is Pillars but it didn't revolutionize anything like Red Dead Redemption 2 did, it may not have done anything "new" per se but it pull off things that the most cunning rpg developers have only failed time and time again in terms of character/world building, that's the main difference. I can't wait to see furure open world games ans rpg's and how they follow this new standard. Just what do you think you're doing?! You dare to come between me and my prey? GhostofAnakin
Elex committed my biggest sin of video game design for ending battles. I call it "just send hordes of enemies to make it difficult". I gave up trying to fight because literally I couldn't even turn around without a new battle robot slashing away at me while I'm trying to avoid rocket shots from the boss (who, by the way, when they hit you it's near impossible to rebound since it knocks you over constantly). So dumb. GhostofAnakin
I just don't understand why developers opt for the swarming hordes design to end battles. You've spent like 80 hours learning new skills for your character, so why not create a boss fight where you have to utilize those various skills/abilities in order to beat the one boss (and maybe one or two minions) instead of not actually making the boss that difficult, just the fact you have to take on 20 enemies at once and you can't avoid shots when you get knocked down once? I prefer boss battles where you have to use all the skills/gadgets you've learned over the course of playing in order to beat the boss rather than just hoping you can run away from the horde following you long enough to take shots at the boss. Zoraptor
I have to admit I set the difficulty to easy for the final battle in Elex, though then it was easy enough. I'm not sure PB has ever done a good end game battle, they'd be criticised more for it if their games didn't also tend to be so massive that most people never complete them. I'm beginning to see why the follow up to free speech was getting a gun.The mods speak not to protect me but to make the forums look less worse to the outside public. So it would be like me, as a hispanic male going to a kkk rally and protesting, and then a private inspector comes in to make sure the kkk members aren't wearing sh*t-stained sheets (which they always do). The private inspector tells the kkk members that their sheets are staind but the kkk members are in too much denial, they're to focused on crucifying me, the hispanic gentleman and thus they refuse to acknowledge what is relevant. Cultic mindset never sets a good image for the world view, nor public eye. But even so, that's a far cry from any cyber bullying that should arise on any forum. Even if we think we are right, it will never be truly justified in the real world, just as the kkk racism will never be justified, and that's covering a non-white willingly sacrificing themselves to kkk groups, the majority is still and will always be in the wrong lol Edited December 5, 2018 by SonicMage117 Just what do you think you're doing?! melkathi
I loved 2070. Felt indifferent about the new one. Need to remind myself that I am playing Mutant Year Zero on very hard. It seems unfair and unnecessary difficult at times, but I forget I am not playing on normal. Then again, if there are only three difficulties (normal, hard, very hard) then normal is easy. And if there is a note that very hard is the intended experience, then the game should be balanced around that. I feel that ironman was just added on for the xcom crowd without the game designed for it. All enemies can pretty much two shot any of my team, while it takes three shots with at least one crit to take out an enemy. Yes, it forces you to scout and stealth and try to kill opponents one at a time from the shadows, but it also means that any missed shot is doubly annoying. Especially when you are facing tougher enemies with armour, health, AoE attacks that don't miss, and some sidekicks on top of that, who you can't isolate. Memo to self: remember to learn to properly use smoke grenades. Unobtrusively informing you about my new ebook (which you should feel free to read and shower with praise). Lexx
Yeah, anno 2070 was good, but also very simple. I had never much problems with anything. Also hated the enemy ai, especially the pirate attacks, which were always exactly the same. Never played the last title, because it didn't interest me at all.
