One thing I do think this thread can do less with, is those 10-20 minute Youtube news reels that where a few people draw out video game news.

To an extent you can blame Google for that. Youtube monetisation favours one 10 minute plus video over lots of little ones, so you get 10 minute plus videos.

The game that saw content removed from Guild Wars 2.

Good riddance.

Also bugger off of Sonic. This thread would be almost dead without him so let him do his thing.

The thread itself has proven your point already. If we're being honest, it's gotten pretty bland now, since the drama died down. Then again, perhaps it was the drama that was entertaining souls and not the news after all?

Or maybe, just maybe there aren't any interesting gaming news right now. I mean it's kinda proving the point with barely anyone replying to your trailer marathon.

I have to admit I almost fell for the Wing Commander trolling a page back. :p

No mind to think. No will to break. No voice to cry suffering.

I know I speak for every member here when I say: "Rest in peace, we're going to miss you and your games".

 I actually had to google them, and they only did sequels to someone else's zombie game?

Yeah, the Dead Rising sequels. Dead Rising 4 is what docked them at bay though. It was phenomenal on Xbox One but horribly received on pc. I mean, I enjoyed it but people hated that players were given more freedom and removed the time restraints and escort missions. Usually I'm all for renoving player freedom and adding time restraints in rpg's but I was really glad they did this for Dead Rising 4 because it allowed me to explore the nice open world at my own pace, level up my character by tedious grinding. I liked that and saw that an improvement to the franchise. Others saw it as a devolvement and casualization for the series.

It's not trolling, Dark Star One is an arcade space game that did alot of sim things better than Wing Commander, alot of people til this day are still butt hurt over it. They got even more butt hurt wjen it was remastered exclusively on Xbox 360 with an array of improvements. The Wing Commander audience was never able to accept that and with their faulty reason, it showed.

Look at it here if you're interested:

https://youtu.be/jB889hQFK6Q

And you will see why the division of the Wing Commader fan-base became such a thing. Quite funny how a cartoony game could do such a thing, but still an anazing game nonetheless. Most people don't know about it but that doesn't mean it didn't happen hehe

Just what do you think you're doing?! You dare to come between me and my prey? Is it a habit of yours to scurry about, getting in the way and causing bother?

What are you still bothering me for? I'm a Knight. I'm not interested in your childish games. I need my rest.

Lego DC Super Duper Villains cast confirms:

Kevin Conroy as Tge Batman

Mark Hamill as The Joker

Tara Strong as Harley Quinn

Michael Rosenbaum as The Flash

Michael Ironside as Darkseid

John Barrowman as Dark Archer/Malcom Merlyn

Travis Willingham as Superman

Clancy Brown as Lex Luthor

Nolan North as Ultraman

David Sobolov as Gorilla Grodd, Dr. Fate and Lobo

Julie Newman as Silver Banshee

And many more.

I suppose I could have just said "All the actors/actressses from the Animated series are reprising their roles" essentially but that wouldn't be any fun.

Soul Calibur 6 beta is now live and open to anyone... live stream here (currently live).

I really wanted Grant Gustin for the Flash kinda like how Stephen Amell was the Green Arrow in Lego Batman 3. I'm still hoping that Jason Mamaoa plays Aquaman for the movie dlc, that would be so cool. Fingers and other things crossed!

Not surprised to hear Wildstar is ending. I wanted to like it but just could not get into it.

Gave it a shot as well, mostly because the supposedly good housing system. Didn't much mind the graphics but the story was so cringeworthy (even by MMO standards) that I really couldn't find any motivation to trod on.

Wait what? What content and how? NCSoft afaiu only "publishes" GW2, but ArenaNet is pretty independent otherwise.

Oh, related news: GW2 also pulled their "lootboxes" in Belgium (hell, Belgian players couldn't even buy "premium currency" for a while). Guess those things weren't as innocent as they always claimed

In Divinities Reach the Western Section of the city was supposed to be where refugees from the Asian inspired Cantha were stationed. At launch it was just a sinkhole and was later turned into what it is now during the Queens Jubilee Living Story Season 1.

It was removed because NcSoft believed it would take away from their upcoming MMO Wildstar, which had Asian Themes.

No idea where you heard that nonsense, they had negative feedback from Asians because of the melting pot nature of the district and that's why it was cut.

As for - I assume - the black lion chests, I'd pull them too if I felt like they might get me in trouble, regardless of whether they're, uh "healthy" for customers or not. It just makes sense I think.

Yups, that's also what I heard about that Cantha district.

As for the lootboxes, the Mount Licenses are affected. Hope they find another, less predatory way, to make money as GW2 is like the only MMO I can still enjoy. (if I don't count Warframe as a MMO)

While there's no such thing as "unimportant game news" there's this type of stuff that should definitely be posted...

Now is the perfect time to poach talent from Carbine Studios!

How many MMOs are even still going? That were started years ago?

Define "going" (and "years ago", come to think of it ;) ), there's quite a few old ones that are still around, looked this up when someone claimed WoW was the oldest still running MMO (Haha. No.). Many are on life support though, or are being horribly mismanaged (everything that used to be run by SOE, for example). Some MMOs are older than you'd think as well.

"Relevant" (as in: the ones I expect to ring bells with at least some people) ones that are still going and started up to 10 years ago:

  • Ultima Online: 1997
  • EverQuest: 1999
  • PlaneShift: 2000
  • Anarchy Online: 2001
  • RuneScape: 2001
  • Final Fantasy XI: 2002
  • Ragnarok Online: 2002
  • EVE Online: 2003
  • Lineage 2: 2003
  • MapleStory: 2003
  • EverQuest 2: 2004
  • Vendetta Online: 2004
  • World of Warcraft: 2004
  • Guild Wars: 2005 (servers still up, no more updates though)
  • Silkroad Online: 2005
  • Dungeons & Dragons Online: 2006
  • The Lord of the Rings Online: 2007
  • Age of Conan: Hyborean Adventures: 2008

Full list here. I don't think it's 100% up-to-date as some of the websites of the older lesser known ones (like Terra, which is not to be confused with Tera) seem dead which, presumably, means the game is as well.

I've been rooting for Ubisoft to fend off the take over for a long time. This is great news.

Yeah! Even the Ubi-haters gotta admit, they make some great games and even excluding that fact, what affects a big company like that affects smaller companies since the industry functions as an ecosystem. Ubisoft ending would be harmful to the industry and beneficial to nobody. I'm glad they won too, love alot of their games :) Edited by SonicMage117

Well Vivendi was the reason Ubisoft ended up getting a **** reputation anyways.

We should all celebrate Ubisoft's victory by purchasing a bunch of Assassin's Creed Odyssey tie-in Totino's Pizza Rolls.
