  1. I never use edge scrolling (WASD all the way) so haven't noticed anything. Is this map exploration mode or in the party level mode by the way? I noticed that the exploration mode has follow toggle which, if you don't unselect it, will make it so that every time you issue a command the camera will zoom to your location and follow you again.
  2. That's complicated to answer in full as its effects vary between different spells and abilities. An example that's easy to see is Minoletta's Minor Missiles. Create a single class Wizard with the spell and at level 1 it'll fire 3 missiles. Now level up to 9 and, if I remember correctly, it'll now fire 5 missiles (I think it's one extra missile every 2 power levels). It's penetration value will also increase.
  3. This. A thousand times this. Summoned weapons were nerfed in Deadfire because otherwise, in the hands of a Wizard dualed with a martial class, they'd be too powerful. If only there was some inbuilt system that allowed them to scale differently for single and multiclass Wizards. Oh wait, power level does that. As a bonus point that would make Conjurers suck a little bit less. I hadn't thought about Spiritshift but the very same applies.
  4. Agreed! As far as I understand it, Pale Elves are elves who have lived in very cold environments for long enough to adapt to them. Their current model makes them look almost like Frost Godlike's, with little bits of frost twinkling in their flesh.
  5. Not overly. I expect it to be pretty unbalanced: PoE was unbalanced at release and it had far less to balance than Deadfire does. Over time it'll get better, like PoE, and eventually it'll reach a place of reasonably good balance.
  6. I've changed my vote to Classic. I'm enjoying the combat in the beta less and less and I think I'll play through Deadfire for the story, so I won't bother with PotD.
  7. Hah! I do that more often than I'd like to admit.
  8. I hope so. Berath's in particularly is a bit lacklustre. Creativity wise Skaen's is cool. The club is really weird looking but it fits.
  9. Knock Down was great in PoE but it's been made a lot worse in Deadfire. I should probably experiment with arm grabbing though.
  10. It's only really at low levels. I don't rate Knock Down or the arm grabby ability (the name escapes me) so at levels 2 and 4 I'm forced to pick passives I don't really want.
  11. No idea, I'll have to wait and see what the higher level abilities are like. That said, I'm leaning towards multiclass Fighter/Rogue since pure Fighters are starved for choices at low levels.
  12. I believe so yes. I'm fairly certain I saw Reddit threads where people said they'd share the code by PM and I would be very surprised if the code doesn't eventually become common knowledge online.
  13. I'd recommend asking this question on Pillars boards rather than the Deadfire boards (or asking a mod to move this). That said I'll answer your questions quickly. If you're okay with a fairly steep learning curve I'd say start on PotD. Hard gets too easy too quickly and whilst you'll have a tough time whilst you learn the mechanics and strategies necessary for PotD, at least it'll remain challenging for longer. As for dumping stats: I never drop them below 8 and have no problems. A very useful thing to remember is stats don't matter anywhere near as much in PoE as they do in things like NWN or BG2. If you see a build you like the look of with dumped stats you can probably modify it without any real difficulties.
  14. Dubious. Unless we're to believe that souls, the wheel and soul entropy weren't a thing until after the Engwithans created the gods, these things would happen anyway. That Rymrgand has been labelled as the god in charge of soul entropy doesn't mean he wants is or even makes it happen.
  15. That's what I think too, but I'm not sure anymore either.
  16. An I right in saying they are (non-cheating) console commands, so using them doesn't unlock a DLC, it just spawns the it in question, and you'd have to do it every new game?
  17. Just a heads up to let people know that each of the Spiritual Weapons have received a reskin (apart from, possible, Berath's?) and their lashes have been changed to better fit their god. The lashes are Berath - Corrosive Eothas - Burning Magran - Burning Skaen - Piercing Wael - Shocking Here are screenshots of all the new skins: Berath Eothas Magran Skaen Wael I've got to say, I rather like the Eothasian Flail, and Skaen's "piercing club" is kinda cool. Does anyone remember what Berath's Greatsword looked like before? It doesn't look very remarkable now and I'm not actually sure it was reskined.
  18. Regarding Fire Godlikes one thing the bothers me is that Ashen Skin gives +2 Burn AR in comparison to the Pale Elf's +4 Burn and +4 Freeze AR. This not only seems weak, but it doesn't make any sense from a lore perspective either. Unless it turns out Pale Elves literally live in volcanoes I don't see how their "long history of living inhospitable climates" gives them twice as much Burn AR as a being literally composed of, in part, fire. As for Battle Forged, description doesn't scale at all. Does anyone know if this is actually the case, or does it scale secretly? If it scales it could be okay but if it works as the description says then it's just plain terrible.
  19. Depends. If your character mostly relies on auto-attacks this is true, but if you have access to lots of full attacks (the Monk for example) then dual wielding is still better.
  20. Priests no longer gain +10 Accuracy, however all characters have the same base Accuracy so they aren't at a disadvantage anymore. The Spiritual Weapon summons the following weapons: Berath - Great Sword Eothas - Flail Magran - Sword and Pistol Skaen - (I think) a club and a stiletto Wael - Rod In all cases the weapons have a scaling quality enchantment (none at levels 1-4, Fine at levels 5-8, Exceptional at 9-12 and so on) and a +50% damage lash. In previous versions of the beta the lash was Corrosive for all, but I noticed today that Wael's has Shocking lash so I'd guess others have been given more fitting lashes too (flaming for Eothas and Magran for example).
  21. I used to have that completionist personality Fluffle (still do to a lesser extent) so I understand your pain.
  22. Based on this table it looks like, at max level, you'll heal 8 less Endurance and do 16 less damage to Vessels, which is not really that much. However this assumes you only get one level of Cruel: it might be that doing both the Effigy and the Machine will give you enough Cruel points to get more than one level of Cruel. Still, all in all not that big a deal, definitely not worth getting Untroubled Faith. Luckily your disposition has no effect on either Inspiring Radiance or Aggrandising Radiance, which are both great, so it's really not that bad.
  23. Perhaps the best, though they rarely get a chance to shine as they're too busy doing their other job: being definitely the best buffer in PoE.
  24. Does this bypass the Devoted's limit on proficiencies?
