  1. I’m curious, did anyone notice a “second phase” to this fight after defeating Hauani o Whe? I did not, but I used the Essence Interrupter during this fight, so I want to make sure I did not experience a bug here.
  2. Good question. I believe that your rival is the faction that you have the highest net positive reputation with that you did not side with. The game appears to consider your negative reputation with each faction when it makes this calculation, as I was able to change my “rival” to the RDC from the Principi just by killing some Principi. However, I am sure the calculation is a bit more complicated than what I described above, as I do not know how a tie would be broken between multiple factions.
  3. Program the AI to use fire abilities and equip your party with fire AR boosting items and Revku’s Scorched Cloak.
  4. You can find instructions here: https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/98360-beta-branch-access-steam-gog-galaxy/?do=findComment&comment=2014265
  5. So, has anyone else tried out the new megaboss? Generally, I think this fight was much easier than Belranga, and the main special mechanic of Hauani o Whe was much easier to work around than Belranga's. As a result, I was able to get through the fight by using pretty standard tactics. As far as some general tips going into the battle:
  6. No, you can definitely figure that out, and explain it to three faces, however, it does not do much without passing the proper skill check.
  7. The Grimoire of Vaporous Wizardry is a backer item that is a reference to that guy and his game.
  8. Xoti gets Symbol of Eothas at PL 8, but she does not have any access to Light of Eothas at PL 9, instead she gets the vine summon.
  9. IIRC, I was able to achieve a peaceful outcome by using the 16 intimidate option. Regardless, this area feels a little rushed, and it’s easy to dead-end many conversations with the faces.
  10. Throw some form of regeneration, increased healing effect items, and plate armor on Xoti and she should be pretty durable as an off-tank. However, I agree that her subclasses leave something to be desired.
  11. I think it would be better if the positive and negative effects were shown parallel to one another in separate columns.
  12. If a sidekick is off the table due to the lack of budget for a new portrait and VO, then why not add in these two classes as an option for hired adventurers? Getting access to adventurers with these classes could even serve as a reward for:
  13. What were the nerfs to spiritshift in 1.1? Just the reductions for the wildstrike abilities?
  14. Here are some useful ones, you can find more details about the items on the Deadfire wiki: Kuaru's Prize (Ring) Shroud of the Phantasm (Cloak) Mask of the Grotto Deep (Helm) Whitewitch Mask (Helm) Pearlescent Rhomboid Helstone (Helm) Revku's Fractured Casque (Helm) Firethrower's Gloves
  15. The dragon’s abilities make up for its regular attacks. The tail lash is great.
  16. I think it is because it is a reskinned torch. I do not think torches can be equipped in your main hand.
  17. A vendor sells at least one pair of Bracers of Greater Deflection in Seeker, Slayer, Survivor.
  18. I’m 99% sure Engari in Seeker, Slayer, Survivor sells one set of Bracers of Greater Deflection. If not, the other accessory vendor does.
  19. It is in a container in the Fleetmaster’s Office, or whatever the office where you collect bounties for the RDC is called.
  20. Another option is to use consumables to help speed things up. Grenades do raw damage, and there are many scrolls that could also be useful.
  21. Ok, here are some ideas, but I have to warn you they are not very well organized. Using Ancestor’s Memory and Salvation of Time as discussed above will solve your resource problem. Do you have any summon figurines? This would be a good battle to use them. Also use the undead summons from the Wise Teeth Necklace, some of the summons have poison immunity and high pierce DR, so they will last a very long time during the fight. Do you have enough penetration with the weapons you are using to damage Belranga effectively? If not, prioritize gear that does crush or corrode damage. Similarly, see if you can get high pierce armor on your melee party members. Once Belranga’s deflection gets low enough, be sure to use Mule Kick if you have it. She cannot attack during the effect’s animation. Are you using any modals you have to increase your accuracy, or decrease Belranaga’s defenses? Do you have the Cap of the Laughingstock equipped to automatically lower Belranaga’s deflection by 10 when you are in range? Do you have the Ring of Reset equipped? If you bring Aloth, make sure he knows the Minoletta spells that deal crush or corrode damage and Wall of Many Colors. Once Belranga’s HP gets low, one way to finish her off is to use Wall of Many Colors which should eventually paralyze her, and then use Minoletta’s Missile Salvo and any other casts of Minoletta’s Minor Missiles you have left. If you bring Xoti, make sure she knows Withdraw and Barring Death’s Door, in addition to any other buffs, healing spells, and revival spells. Some other thoughts: make sure you get the Adratic Glow buff from using the Luminous Bathhouse before the battle, as every little advantage helps. Check which pet you have equipped, if your character has a decent Intellect, I would recommend Concelhaut, as his summon is great against Belranga. Nemnok also might be useful if your party is spellcaster heavy. And finally, take a very careful look at your consumables, you might be surprised what you can use during the battle to get an extra edge.
  22. What’s your party lineup? A fighter, Eder as a swashbuckler, and who else?
